Lord of Myths: I Can Summon and Fuse Divine Powers.-Chapter 56: A Parasite, a Heroine and a Priest on the Hilltop. (1)
The spirits pulsed in the dark night, in silver, green and red colors.
The gigantic colossus of volcanic rock was already part of the landscape.
From its cracks dripped remains of hot magma that glowed with intense color, illuminating the nocturnal darkness.
On top of them were Alioth and Nora, who observed from above the large number of chimeras there were.
"This is great! There’s nothing more amazing than fighting on top of a giant colossus!" the girl exclaimed with an excited smile.
Alioth felt her astonishment was contagious.
A warm sensation ran through his chest, it was comforting that someone praised his work like that.
It was a strange but pleasant sensation.
Unfortunately, that small moment of happiness wasn’t going to last too long.
In an instant, multiple flying chimeras approached them.
A chimera similar to a Quetzalcoatlus but with the skin of a leopard but pink in color stretched its neck toward Nora, wanting to pierce her with its beak.
The girl however easily dodged the attack, and counterattacked with a cut from Lævateinn directly to the neck.
The chimera’s head was cleanly severed, while the wound left a burn mark.
"Buidhearg!" Alioth shouted vividly, pointing at one of the chimeras.
It was a giant bat with green fur and a scorpion’s tail.
The silver spirits around him accelerated, gathering at the tip of his finger.
When the boy pronounced those words, the light the spirits emitted turned orange.
The ray of spirits shot out spinning at great speed like a drill, impacting directly against the creature’s chest.
The green-furred bat fell lifeless to the ground under Alioth’s gaze.
"Seems they’re not so hard to defeat," the boy commented seriously as he glanced at Nora.
She was cutting in half a strange mix of insects while dodging the attack of a mix between a blue crocodile and a bat.
The girl moved elegantly as she dodged the lizard’s jaws to then stick her sword between its eyes.
Then Lævateinn emitted a wave of fire and heat inside the creature, making its head explode.
"Yes! I think we can handle them," Nora responded happily.
The blonde was very happy at that moment.
This was a battle she had always dreamed of.
In fact, she never would have imagined living such an exciting experience.
After all, they were escaping from a horde of monsters riding on top of a giant colossus of stone and magma.
Then the colossus’s head moved.
The rock giant was taking its first step.
Some chimeras were still trying to destroy its foot uselessly, their claws or teeth couldn’t destroy the thick stone.
The colossus’s foot lifted and then fell back on the ground.
Upon doing so, the ground trembled, and began to crack.
The chimeras that couldn’t move away in time were crushed between the colossus’s foot and the ground.
From the cracks in the ground hot vapors began to emerge, that step not only made the ground rumble, it also heated it.
"Yahoo!" Nora exclaimed amused on the colossus’s head.
Alioth also felt his heart beating hard in his chest.
He had been on a roller coaster once, but the excitement he felt at that moment was much greater than riding any attraction on Earth.
Then, the colossus lifted its other foot, from which hung multiple chimeras still trying to destroy the rock uselessly.
Again, the ground rumbled with the second step, and more chimeras died in the process.
While that was happening, a swarm of flying chimeras lunged toward Nora and Alioth.
However, before reaching their destination, [Ifmet] intervened.
Its gigantic stone arms moved in the air, as if the colossus were trying to swat flies.
Those arms were so fast and swift that they were capable of crushing multiple chimeras with their strength.
However, not being enough to defeat the entire swarm, [Ifmet]’s rock jaw opened.
Powerful flames came out of its mouth, like a cloud of fire that spread at full speed, charring multiple targets at once.
"That’s it! Eat that, filthy monsters!" Nora exclaimed with joy as she raised her arms.
Alioth, on the other hand, didn’t lose concentration, they weren’t completely safe yet.
"Don’t sing victory too soon, Nora," the boy said seriously as he observed the colossus’s body.
Nora raised an eyebrow, but when she looked in the direction Alioth was looking, she saw it too.
Multiple chimeras were climbing up [Ifmet]’s legs at a chilling speed.
Some even got inside the colossus’s cracks trying to break it from within.
However, Nora smiled, that made it more exciting.
"It’s my moment!" she exclaimed as she jumped from the colossus, under Alioth’s incredulous gaze.
Had Nora lost her mind?
"What are you doing, Nora!?" the boy exclaimed with surprise as he watched the woman jump.
But Nora didn’t respond, she began to run across the colossus’s body at an impressive speed, while spinning her sword between her fingers.
Soon she reached the chimeras’ location, which lunged at her, however they were easily cut by Lævateinn.
The girl descended acrobatically while cutting chimeras in half and expelling them from [Ifmet]’s body.
Alioth whistled impressed, you had to have a lot of courage to do what she was doing.
Meanwhile, Nora was quite happy killing the chimeras as she descended the rock giant’s body.
Then Alioth felt something was wrong.
Everything was going too well.
Would the priest do nothing to prevent their escape?
But just when that thought crossed his mind, the world gave him the answer.
An immense glow began to shine in front of him with intensity, emitting a blinding light.
Alioth squinted as he observed what was happening.
What was happening now?
Would the priest summon a giant creature or something like that?
No, that wasn’t it.
In an instant, multiple golden and silver mosaics began to be created.
Crystallized keter.
Gathering like pieces of a larger structure.
A giant sword to be exact.
Of a size scaled to [Ifmet].
Alioth swallowed hard as he saw that gigantic weapon gleaming in front of him.
He had sung victory too soon.
Escaping wouldn’t be so easy.
