Lord of Mysterious Wizard-Chapter 122 - Dark Factory
Chapter 122: Chapter 122 Dark Factory
From setting the bait to the end of the battle, the fight with the four Polluters took no longer than ten minutes.
And their opponent was a Cannibal Monster.
At this moment, Tang Qi’s gaze was locked onto the corpse that, though emaciated from its original state, still resembled a mountain of flesh, with ghost light converging upon it.
[Extraordinary Creatures: Ogre.]
[State: Deceased.]
[Information Fragment: A layabout with a penchant for junk food accidentally acquired a Curio, which gradually transformed him into a Cannibal Monster. His craving for food nearly completely overpowered all other desires, with only a sliver of rationality remaining, allowing him to hide in an abandoned Factory for half a day, making night time his hunting period.]
...
“Hmm, Curios?”
Tang Qi showed no interest in the deceased Cannibal Monster.
However, the Curio mentioned in the Information Fragment involuntarily drew Tang Qi’s attention to its corpse.
Initially, he disregarded the item resembling a ghostly diaper.
His attention was focused instead on the dark red napkin, which sure enough was gathering points of ghost light, and a special image emerged.
[Curios: Ogre’s Napkin.]
[State: Intact.]
[Information Fragment One: A napkin stained with the actual blood of a Cannibal Ogre, it bestows the user with an insatiable appetite and also imparts some Extraordinary Power.]
[Information Fragment Two: This is one of the favorite types of Curios for Professionals known as ‘Gluttons’, and finding one could potentially fetch a high price.]
“Sizzle”
Clearly, Tang Qi wasn’t the only one who recognized valuable goods.
The four Polluters rummaged through the Cannibal Monster’s remains and ultimately identified the unique Curio, which, after being torn off, rapidly shrank from the size of a bedsheet to normal.
The napkin was now in the hands of the leading Polluter.
Strangely enough, once it returned to normal size, it acted as if alive, wrapping towards the Polluter’s neck as if choosing it as the next Host.
That was until an explosion of horrific evil erupted from the Polluter, stopping the napkin’s movement abruptly, accompanied by a frightened scream.
Then it was once again ripped off, stuffed into an iron box.
Having handled the napkin, the leading Polluter turned to glance at the one who had lost their legs, looked coldly under the mask at the pieces of yellow fat on the ground, signaling to them.
The Polluter moved forward, just as a vine with thorns emerged, piercing into the chunks of fatty flesh with a hissing sound, rapidly absorbing them. Before long, the blood and flesh that covered the ground disappeared.
And at the place of the Polluter’s severed limbs, a new leg emerged.
Such a method of cleanup was decidedly environmentally friendly.
However, even so, the remains left by the Monster were still a mountain of flesh, a very disgusting one at that.
The next moment, the four Polluters each took out hook and chain tools, treating the carcass like a “meat pig,” securing it in four spots, and then dragged the flesh mountain deeper into the area.
The path they took left a clear trail.
A path made of blood, fat, and meat fragments, guiding any passerby towards the deepest part of the Blank District in the Southern Region.
Of course, even if there were passersby, they certainly would not follow.
Those who knowingly face danger, have no means to protect themselves, yet are still willing to venture forth may exist in reality, but certainly not as numerous as depicted in movies and TV shows.
However, Tang Qi was not just any passerby.
Four Polluters dragged a mountain of flesh forward with reckless abandon, because they had arranged props in advance, causing everyone within the area to fall into a deep sleep, thus no one would disturb their “work”.
“If I hadn’t been sure that these ghastly things belong to a Transcendent Organization leaning towards evil, upon seeing this scene, I might have thought they were heroes cleaning up monsters in the dark.”
“Hero or not, free and easily obtained Fuel is something I cannot miss out on.”

Muttering to himself, the smoke Tang Qi transformed into suddenly shifted from its original place and floated above the flesh mountain in the night.
On top of the monster’s corpse, a Resentful Soul was drifting out.
Just like the image attached to Information Fragment, a sloppy and obese white youth, after drifting out, suddenly began to swell into the shape of a Cannibal Monster.
Whoosh!
Soundlessly, a hand wrapped in a faint golden light pressed down on its head.
Taking advantage of the moonlight and the dim glow of streetlights, a barely detectable streak of golden light flashed by, and the Resentful Soul of the Cannibal Monster dissipated in an instant.
Tang Qi, who had scooped up a large handful of Fuel for free, did not follow the four Polluters closely after refining the Resentful Soul.
However, he didn’t leave immediately either.
Instead, he continued to maintain his fog-like form, perfectly blending into the night and the shadows around the street, following the four from afar.
After all, there was no need for any sophisticated tracking skills; the path was decidedly too obvious.
Soon, Tang Qi knew why the four Polluters dared to drag the monster corpses brazenly on the streets, even at night, even after using props.
The reason was simple; they did not head towards the residential areas.
Instead, they kept moving deeper into the “abandoned area,” a desolate zone composed of several deserted factories.
Because of water and power cutoffs, coupled with frequent strange events, even the homeless didn’t dare to enter.
Now it seemed that the reason this area was so deserted, besides intrinsic factors, was truly due to these Polluters.
They obviously did not want unexpected Observers during their work time.
In the silence of the night, apart from the faint, hazy moonlight, an area completely made up of factories, desolate and open, with occasional mists rising, on old, dusty streets, four Masked Men dragging a monster corpse with hooks and chains…
“If I were a painter, this scene would be excellent material.”
From behind the path, Tang Qi, merged with the night, lamented as he looked at the scene before him.
Then, Tang Qi saw ahead at the end of the path, the four Polluters seemed to have reached their destination.
It was a Factory, the only one that hadn’t been abandoned.
Located in the deepest part, its original appearance was now unknowable; its current form was bizarre and inspired a feeling of revulsion.
It was completely covered with black paint, but the application seemed uneven, revealing strange cracks where, from some angles, it seemed just like elongated, evil eyes.
The windows and doors of the Factory seemed to be sealed off and covered with black paint as well.
Together with a hastily added Observation Tower before the factory, built with pitch-black stones.
When moonlight shone on this area, it was twisted and absorbed, so much so that from a distance, it looked like a dark giant beast with a single horn lying quietly on the earth, staring at the whole of Messer City through the desolation of the “Factory Grave”.
“Hiss~”
Tang Qi, who was originally about to follow, suddenly stopped at this moment, as he felt a terrifying, heavy malevolence.
