Chapter 82: Chapter 69: "Levy" Talent, Population Acceleration, Resource Acceleration, Forging Acceleration

Deep within the dense forest, the iron-shod hooves of the Desert Giant Wolves shattered decaying leaves, kicking up a spray of damp debris.

These towering beasts, nearly ten feet tall at the shoulder, lowered their backs. Their ink-black fur coalesced into a flowing mountain range in the gaps between the trees, every bulging muscle defined with the sharp angles of chiseled bronze.

The Ratman Warriors on their backs crouched low, their gnarled, vine-like fingers clutching tightly to the wolves’ manes. The friction of their leather bracers against coarse fur created a harsh, grating sound.

"Halt!"

"Everyone!"

"Make camp here!"

"We’ll spend the night here!"

"We’ll set out again at first light!"

At their Lord’s command, the galloping Desert Giant Wolves pulled to an abrupt halt, sending up a cloud of dust that billowed into the night air.

The Ratman Warriors deftly dismounted from the Desert Giant Wolves and spread out like a black tide. Some bent to gather dry pinewood, while others arranged weathered stones to build hearths. Soon, bonfires crackled to life, and the sizzle of fat dripping into the flames mingled with the rich aroma of roasting meat.

Qin Feng leaped down from the back of the lead Desert Giant Wolf. He found a moss-covered stone and sat, then swiped open his communication panel with a finger. A flood of private message pop-ups instantly appeared, all from a Lord Player with the ridiculous ID "Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

[Lord Tingfeng...]

These messages.

He had actually seen them already.

In fact, using the long-range communication function of Ashes’s Owl Spirit Body, he had already gotten the rundown on Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior from Diablo.

’His combat power as a Lord is practically zero. He’d have trouble taking on a single wild Forest Wolf, so he can only pick on the wild Fire Foxes at the bottom of the food chain.’

’His army’s combat power is comparable to a feudal landlord’s militia at best. He has about twenty Divine Chosen Soldiers, all of whom are just Level 2 Zero-star (Green) troops that have only been promoted once.’

’His army’s gear, on the other hand, is decent—fully outfitted with iron weapons and armor. While not as good as Black Crystal Equipment forged from Black Crystal Stone, the overall difference in Attributes isn’t that large.’

’His territory’s defenses are formidable. He’s built a full ten Level 3 Arrow Towers, plus thirty Tier 3 Tower Archers. (They aren’t regular Divine Chosen Soldiers and can only guard the towers and the base, but they’re at a Blue combat tier.) Paired with towering Level 3 walls, it’s enough to fend off a Ratman Tribe that lacks any siege equipment.’

As for his territory’s resource acquisition efficiency...

’It’s practically unrivaled.’

’Farmhouses, Hunting Lodges, Fishing Huts, Woodcutter’s Huts... all Level 3 buildings, and lots of them. He’s probably converted most of his villagers into production-focused subjects.’

’All in all...’

’This Lord Player most likely chose the King of Territory Talent.’

’And since the game began, he’s been hiding out near the Wolfman Tribe’s territory, providing them with resources and technology in exchange for the protection of their Wolf Cavalry army.’

’Judging by his tone, he also seems like a relatively sane, normal player, not some Bridge Blocker Uluru type who just wants to murder other players on sight...’

So, Qin Feng decided to give him a chance and replied:

"What can I do for you?"

Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior, who apparently didn’t have much else to do, replied instantly:

"Heh heh! Lord Tingfeng! You finally replied!"

"To be honest, I was hoping to ride your coattails! I need you to send your Divine Chosen Army to help me deal with some troublesome enemies nearby! And maybe send some troops to protect my territory, too."

"Of course!"

"I wouldn’t ask you to do it for free!"

"I can give you plenty of resources, and I can even use my Awakened Talent to help your territory develop!"

"Just think of me as your dedicated support!"

Seeing this, Qin Feng stroked his chin and got straight to the point.

"You chose King of Territory for your starting Talent, right?"

"And what’s your Awakened Talent?"

At the question, Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior didn’t hem and haw or change the subject. Instead, he readily pasted his Talent information directly into the chat box and sent it to Qin Feng without a second thought.

[Requisition (King of Territory, Level 1 Talent): Each day, randomly gain three of the following effects... Villager population refresh time is reduced by one day; all production buildings of one type (chosen from three random types, probability calculated separately) gain an additional day’s output; construction and upgrade times for all territory buildings are reduced by one day; weapon design or forging time at all Blacksmith Shops is reduced by one day; all soldiers training weapon proficiency in the barracks gain an additional day’s worth of training results (the bonus progress is equal to the time spent training that day).]

[Joint Efforts (King of Territory, Level 10 Talent): Bind to one ally (Players only; one-month cooldown after unbinding). You share your Talents with your ally (they receive 50% of the effect; your own effect is not reduced). Additionally, you may dispatch a portion of your production-focused subjects to your ally’s territory to work for them as temporary subjects (at 50% of their original efficiency). In exchange, your ally must dispatch an equal number of their highest combat-rated units to your territory. These units become a temporary army under your complete command, retaining 100% of their combat power. This arrangement lasts until you recall your subjects (the number of subjects is up to you; recalling them incurs a one-week cooldown).]

Qin Feng: "???"

’Holy shit!’

’The first Talent was easy enough to understand!’
