Living Only For Myself: Make Those Who Hate Me Regret It-Chapter 136: Do You Know What You Just Did?
A round of teasing hisses came from their friends. Fu Jun and Wan Youping exaggeratedly rubbed the goosebumps on their arms, looking at him as if to say, "So you’re *that* kind of class president."
Xu Su was also speechless. She glanced at Xi Zirong again and asked, "You’re not drunk, are you?"
Xi Zirong shook his head. "No."
Xu Su said, annoyed, "If you’re not, then stop talking like that."
As it turned out, Xi Zirong really wasn’t drunk.
After hearing what Xu Su said, he obediently stopped talking and started to eat.
He had drunk a little on an empty stomach and needed to eat something to line it so he wouldn’t feel so sick.
After dinner, Xi Zirong took them to the KTV on the fourth floor. This was the afternoon activity he had mentioned.
As soon as they got to the private room, Xi Zirong saw the assortment of alcohol on the table. He went out and called a waiter, and soon all the alcohol was removed, replaced by a wide variety of soft drinks.
Xu Su watched them go wistfully. She kind of wanted a drink, even if it was just a beer.
Xi Zirong saw right through her. He took her hand and coaxed with a smile, "Want a drink? Not right now. You’re not an adult yet, Susu."
But it wasn’t just Xu Su who was sad to see the alcohol go; Wan Youping, Fu Jun, Zhou Dongdong, and the other guys were even more reluctant. In truth, at their age, many of them had already had alcohol before.
Wan Youping stopped the last case of beer from being taken away. "Hey, at least leave one case! We’re here to sing karaoke. Just drinking soda is no fun."
"Yeah, I have a couple of drinks with my dad at home all the time," another chimed in. "I drank at my middle school reunion, too. My tolerance is decent."
Hearing the other students speak up, Xu Su’s hope was instantly rekindled. She couldn’t help but tug on Xi Zirong’s arm. "Let us have a little, Xi Zirong. Did you forget we were born in the same year? I’m eighteen, too."
In the end, the case of beer was allowed to stay. With twelve students in total, one case wasn’t that much.
However, the other girls didn’t drink, so only Xu Su unceremoniously grabbed two bottles for herself.
Huang Feng had tried beer before and didn’t really like it. Seeing Xu Su, she grew curious. "I think beer is so bitter. It’s not as good as soda. Susu, you actually like to drink?"
Xu Su opened a bottle, poured a full glass, and drained it in one go.
Finally, her first beer since being reborn. Xu Su said with a beaming smile, "It’s not just beer. I love all kinds of alcohol."
His girlfriend’s penchant for drinking made Xi Zirong rub his temples with a headache.
Huang Feng’s eyes lit up, and she looked eager to try. "In that case, I’ll have some too."
She brought her cup over.
Xu Su hesitated for a couple of seconds before pouring her half a glass. "If you haven’t really drunk before, don’t have too much."
Holding her half-glass of beer and not wanting to be a third wheel, Huang Feng let out a little laugh and went to join Rao Lulu and the other girls.
That left just Xi Zirong and Xu Su sitting in the corner.
The moment Huang Feng left, Xi Zirong took Xu Su’s hand, his voice very serious. "You’re not allowed to get drunk either, Xu Su. You need to know your limits when you drink."
The private room was filled with their classmates. Two of the boys were each holding a microphone and caterwauling, their voices terrifyingly loud. Xi Zirong had to speak directly into Xu Su’s ear.
Xu Su poured another glass of beer and took two small sips, ignoring him. As she went to put it down, Xi Zirong snatched it away. He lifted the glass she had just drunk from and downed the remaining half in one gulp.
Xu Su: "..."
She first glanced at the other students, and only after seeing they were all busy having fun and no one was paying attention to them did she raise her eyes to glare at him.
"Xi Zirong, if you wanted a drink, couldn’t you pour your own glass?"
The young man leaned his head back, looking at her from the side, his gaze tender. "Susu, I like you so much."
’What kind of nonsensical conversation is this?!’
Xu Su moved closer and reached out to touch Xi Zirong’s face, only to find it was burning up. "Hey, are you actually drunk?"
Xi Zirong nuzzled his face against her hand, wishing he could lean his whole body against her.
"..." Xu Su gave him a shove, but he didn’t budge. She said, "If you’re still sober, I’ll give you a present."
The young man instantly sat up straight, his eyes filled with anticipation. "I’m not drunk, Susu! I’m really not drunk."
’Oh, god!’
’He’s so adorable!’
Xu Su fought back the mischievous urge to tease him and pulled a ring out of her pocket.
She took Xi Zirong’s hand and slipped it onto his index finger. "Here. You have to take good care of it. This cost me a lot of money."
"It’s not as expensive as the phone you got me, but with my current means, this was the most I could afford."
The ring was a perfect fit, circling his index finger just right. Xi Zirong stared at it for a long time.
Then he took Xu Su’s hand and, seeing an identical ring on her finger, reached out to take it off.
"What are you doing?"
Xu Su curled her fingers, not letting him take it.
After trying a few times and failing to remove it, Xi Zirong stopped and called out, "Xu Su!"
Xu Su looked up at the sound of her name. The next second, Xi Zirong’s face was close, and she felt something cool on her lips.
Her pupils dilated!
Before she could stay surprised for long, Xi Zirong pulled away, holding up the ring he had just slipped off her finger while she was stunned. "I want to put it on for you myself."
"..." Xu Su looked around. Seeing that everyone was busy singing or playing games and no one was looking their way, she breathed a small sigh of relief.
She stared at Xi Zirong’s face, a little angry. "Do you have any idea what you just did?"
Xi Zirong took Xu Su’s hand and slowly slid her ring back onto her finger. After doing all this, he finally looked up, his smile dazzling.
He didn’t say anything, just leaned in to kiss Xu Su again, but she turned her head to dodge it.
Xi Zirong’s kiss landed on her cheek. He pulled her in by the shoulder, his lips sliding to her ear. "Susu, I’m so happy. I’m so happy about the gift you gave me."
’He looks so unsophisticated...’
’Getting this worked up over a relatively cheap ring...’
Xu Su gave him a little push, a bit disdainful. "So you were so happy you offered me a kiss?"
"Aren’t you happy? Susu, you don’t like me kissing you?"
Xu Su was left speechless by the question.
’It’s not really a matter of liking it or not. It was just so sudden.’
Xi Zirong sounded a bit aggrieved. "I’ve wanted to kiss you for a long time. Really, for a very long time. Susu, please don’t dislike me, okay?"
"I think about it every day. I want to hold you, to kiss you." As Xi Zirong spoke, he began to slowly peck at her ear. His warm breath made Xu Su instinctively shrink away.
He kept rambling on, and combined with the sound of their classmates screaming their lungs out at karaoke, Xu Su was getting really annoyed.
Unable to stand how clingy he was being, Xu Su pushed Xi Zirong away, scooted over a bit, and picked up her glass to drink.
Wan Youping and the others happened to be rolling dice. Seeing Xu Su drinking by herself, they called her over to join them.
In the end, without much hesitation, Xu Su took her glass and joined their game.
