Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 111: Visiting the Camp
Wang Jin and Lu Yao walked into the yard, curiously looking around.
"Wow, you guys even have a table." Wang Jin exclaimed in surprise upon seeing the table under the greenhouse.
No comparison, no harm.
Xu Yi’s table is made of wood and comes with two stools.
Theirs, however, is just a wooden stump with a slab of stone on top, and the tabletop is less than half a square.
"Xu Yi made this, he’s skilled in many things." Lu Ke smiled as she spoke and glanced at Xu Yi.
"Is he really that impressive, even knowing how to make tables?" Wang Jin looked at Xu Yi, bolder than Lu Ke.
"You even keep animals?" Lu Yao saw a rabbit eating grass inside the fence and couldn’t help but widen her eyes.
While they were painstakingly hunting, Xu Yi and Lu Ke were already starting to breed animals?
Such a big difference, isn’t it?
"Oh my, are those chicks?" Hearing Lu Yao, Wang Jin also came to the fence, then saw the chicks in the coop pecking at clover and immediately exclaimed.
"Yes, they are chicks of the native fowl." Xu Yi explained.
"How are you so awesome, even starting chicken farming. Sis, you’re a special forces soldier, but compared to Xu Yi and them, we’re really doing too poorly." Wang Jin said with a face like a bitter melon.
"We were lucky to find a clutch of eggs and incubate them." Xu Yi explained, he had long guessed Lu Yao was a soldier, not realizing she was actually a lady commando.
Lu Yao glanced around and then walked elsewhere.
After all, since she’s already here on a tour, naturally she wants to see everything.
"Xu Yi, are you making stools?" Wang Jin saw the stools that Xu Yi was halfway done, and couldn’t help asking.
"Yes, making two benches to serve as beds." Xu Yi said openly, knowing they wouldn’t possibly occupy his camp.
"Even making beds, this is too remarkable." Wang Jin didn’t know how to express her feelings.
Then, her gaze fell upon the pottery on the table.
"Is this pottery?" Wang Jin walked to the table and found grapes in one of the bowls.
"Yes, we fired the pottery ourselves." Lu Ke said, then looked at Xiaobai and took out two bunches of grapes.
"Here, have a taste, we picked these grapes ourselves." Lu Ke felt that offering Wang Jin and Lu Yao grapes didn’t count as mutual help. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Even grapes, your lives are too good." Wang Jin didn’t know how to envy Xu Yi and Lu Ke, it’s like a vacation instead of survival in the wilderness.
They had seen the jerky hanging under the greenhouse.
"These wild grapes aren’t too sour, the taste is quite good." Lu Yao said in surprise, originally thinking they’d be sour. Unexpectedly, they were quite sweet.
"Comparing with your camp, ours is too shabby. Sis, next time we return, let’s improve the camp." Wang Jin felt reluctant to leave, living at Xu Yi’s place would be so comfortable.
Their water was at the camp, and they had lots of pottery to use.
Lu Yao nodded but did not respond.
Since the room was relatively dark, Wang Jin didn’t go inside.
Besides, inside was where Xu Yi and Lu Ke slept, she wasn’t suited to look inside.
"Alright, Ah Jin, we should continue our mission." Lu Yao believed the mission was paramount, having seen Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s camp, she could visit next time.
"Oh, okay." Wang Jin nodded, knowing the mission was urgent. After all, time was limited, failing would mean losing all their tools.
She didn’t want to become primitive and start from the Stone Age again.
"Thanks for the hospitality, we’ll be off now." Wang Jin, Lu Ke, and Xu Yi waved, reluctantly saying goodbye.
"Good luck to you." Lu Ke also felt a hint of reluctance yet didn’t hold them back. Wang Jin and Lu Yao had missions to complete, they couldn’t linger here.
"Uh-huh." Wang Jin nodded cheerfully, thinking she’d have good luck, otherwise, how would she come to Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s camp?
"By the way, we’re team 52, what about you?" Wang Jin suddenly remembered, asking. She regretted not asking Xu Yi this last time.
"77." Xu Yi replied.
Wang Jin nodded then left with Lu Yao.
After they departed, Xu Yi shut the fence door.
"Xu Yi, you didn’t mind me inviting them in, did you?" Seeing Xu Yi silent, Lu Ke thought he might be upset, so asked.
"Of course not, even if you didn’t invite them, I would have. They already found our camp." Xu Yi glanced at Lu Ke, then said: "Hope they can complete the task."
Saying that, Xu Yi turned his attention back.
Listening, Lu Ke breathed a sigh of relief, then said: "They’re both very pretty and seem quite capable. Especially Lu Yao, she’s actually a female commando, no wonder she looks cool."
"Lu Yao is probably quite capable, Wang Jin is less so." Xu Yi felt if Wang Jin wasn’t with Lu Yao, she might not survive so long.
Lu Ke agreed. She could sense it too. Like when she stood by Xu Yi, others could see Xu Yi was much stronger.
"I hope they can persist." Lu Ke felt Wang Jin was a girl easy to get along with, her aura was comforting.
Lu Yao, though less talkative, gave a solid impression. That might be a sense of security.
So, she thought if given a chance, collaborating with them would be very nice.
"Hope so." Xu Yi said, then returned to his spot, continuing to carve holes.
It was already past four, Wang Jin and Lu Yao were definitely spending the night outside, not returning to camp.
He saw Lu Yao had a hammock in her backpack, which would allow them to sleep elevated, reducing the chance of animal attacks.
Regardless, it was much safer than sleeping on the ground.
Lu Ke also returned to her spot and continued working with clay.
At present, Wang Jin and Lu Yao needed to complete the task for a chance to last a hundred days.
If not, without any tools and starting from scratch, Lu Ke felt it would be challenging to hold out for a hundred days.
Even if they did, others would hesitate to collaborate.
Because without tools, one loses some advantages.
