Live-in Son-in-law-Chapter 1091: He Won’t Have the Slightest Chance of Survival
"Boom!"
Several silver spears thrust forward, an aura of purple light emanating from Qin Yi's body, directly twisting their spears into a pretzel shape, while several soldiers were directly sent flying.
Qin Yi did not wish to trouble the guards, a small punishment to serve as a large warning.
Then, he began walking inside.
At this moment, a loud whistle sounded behind him.
Qin Yi paid no attention. The whistle should be the guards alerting those inside of an attack.
When Qin Yi entered, a large number of soldiers suddenly charged from all directions.
"Bang!"
Qin Yi stomped his foot, and with him at the center, the bluestone bricks on the ground within tens of meters exploded into powder.
The soldiers who were initially rushing towards Qin Yi turned pale with fright, hastily retreating.
Qin Yi glanced around, then shouted, "Song Qingfeng, come out and see me."
His voice resonated like thunder above the War General Mansion, lingering for a long time, causing the entire mansion to tremble violently.
Several figures swiftly moved and in the blink of an eye, arrived not far from Qin Yi.
The leading figure appeared to be middle-aged, wearing golden armor, exceedingly heroic, with Unification Early Stage cultivation.
Beside him were several others, all formidable with strong cultivation.
The man looked at Qin Yi, "And you are?"
"Qin Yi."
The man's expression changed slightly, seemingly aware of Qin Yi's famed reputation. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Are you Song Qingfeng?"
The man nodded, "Indeed. I'm unaware of any wrongdoing against you, Young Master Qin, to warrant your intrusion into my mansion."
"You haven't wronged me; I've come searching for you."
"Young Master Qin, please speak."
Qin Yi asked, "Whom do you serve?"
Song Qingfeng's expression shifted, knowing he couldn't disclose such matters lightly.
"Forget it, it's unimportant to me." Qin Yi furrowed his brows, "The Third Princess and my friends have been captured by the Second Prince's men, and they'll be taken to the Imperial City, passing through your Tianlin City. Have you seen them?"
Song Qingfeng's expression changed again, shock filled his eyes.
"The Third Princess has been captured?"
Qin Yi nodded slightly. He was observing Song Qingfeng, whose expression did not appear feigned, suggesting genuine ignorance.
"Song Qingfeng, I need you to seal the city gates and find out the whereabouts of the Third Princess."
Song Qingfeng hesitated for a moment, then sternly commanded, "Summon the men."
"Yes."
Several leaders stepped forward, bowing and awaiting orders.
"Seal the city gates, search the entire city for the whereabouts of the Third Princess. Any person, all stop them."
"Understood."
The leaders accepted the order, leading the surrounding soldiers out of the mansion.
Qin Yi nodded slightly, with a hint of appreciation in his eyes. Truly worthy as a War General of the Yunyue Empire, efficient and clean in execution.
Song Qingfeng turned to Qin Yi, "Young Master Qin, please enter. If the Third Princess is indeed in Tianlin City, she will surely be found."
He was confident; Tianlin City was his territory. If he couldn't even find a few people, what kind of General would he be?
Qin Yi was satisfied with Song Qingfeng's attitude, slightly nodding, following him to a luxurious hall, presumably the main hall of the War General Mansion.
They sat down, and Song Qingfeng ordered tea to be served.
"Young Master Qin, your reputation for slaying the Three Kings of the Tianyue Empire has spread far and wide. I greatly admire you. Meeting you today is truly a fortunate occurrence."
Qin Yi smiled faintly, indifferently saying, "All credit goes to the Third Princess."
Song Qingfeng paused, quickly smiling, "Indeed, it is due to the Third Princess, but don't be too modest, Young Master Qin. The Three Kings were slain by you, and this can't be concealed."
"No attempt to hide it, just killed three people, not worth mentioning. To me, any so-called credit means nothing. But to the Third Princess, it bears significance."
Song Qingfeng paused; such magnanimity, dismissing the feat of slaying the Three Kings as trivial. Nonetheless, Qin Yi possessed that qualification, as he supposedly slain the Three Kings in an instant, evidencing his formidable cultivation. He observed Qin Yi, perceiving him as excessively young, yet his cultivation remained inscrutable.
"The Third Princess is fortunate to have Young Master Qin's assistance indeed."
Qin Yi smiled lightly, "Just mutual benefits."
Song Qingfeng was puzzled, considering the Third Princess's current decline, questioning what she could offer Qin Yi. He could only ponder it might relate to relations between men and women.
Qin Yi glanced at him, dismissively saying, "I already have a family."
Song Qingfeng hesitated, realizing immediately, his face flushing with embarrassment, his heart filled with shock at Qin Yi's sharp discernment. Qin Yi's words confirmed his relation with the Third Princess was not what he presumed.
Song Qingfeng shifted the topic, "If the Third Princess is in Tianlin City, she will be found. Should she have left Tianlin City..."
Song Qingfeng left the sentence unfinished, yet Qin Yi understood unspoken, suggesting if Yun Mengyao and the others left Tianlin City, Song Qingfeng could offer no help.
Qin Yi replied indifferently, "If they have departed Tianlin City, it is no longer your concern."
"The Third Princess was captured, passing through Tianlin City, yet I failed to notice, indeed my negligence. Nonetheless… Song Qingfeng is not afraid of taking responsibility, genuinely concerned for the Third Princess's safety."
"Clearly, you do not serve the Second Prince," Qin Yi said dismissively.
Song Qingfeng's face stiffened; such matters were of life-and-death consequence, not something to disclose lightly. For instance, if he declared allegiance to the Second Prince, and the Eldest Prince ascended the throne, wouldn't he be doomed? Currently, the Eldest Prince, Second Prince, and Second Princess are all prominent; whose hand the throne falls into remains uncertain. Until the last moment, they cannot easily express allegiance.
As the saying goes, a rabbit has three burrows, everyone wishes to leave themselves a way out. Supporting the Eldest Prince while also supporting the Second Prince, and indeed supporting the Eldest Princess, thus whoever ascends the throne, there's a path for survival.
The officialdom is more dangerous than the martial world, where offending the wrong can simply result in escape. However, they have families to care for, a single wrong stance could implicate nine clans.
Qin Yi laughed, "I understand your apprehensions, no problem with not speaking. But I can offer you a sincere suggestion—support the Third Princess, even if not supported, don't seek to trouble her. Should you indeed serve the Second Prince, my advice is to keep distance because he stands no chance of ascending the throne."
Song Qingfeng hesitated, ultimately dared not ask why. Should he inquire, and this word reached the Second Prince, he'd face great trouble.
"You officials are truly cautious, which is understandable given the ruthless nature of the royal family; a slight mistake could implicate nine clans. But I can tell you why the Second Prince stands no chance."
Qin Yi looked at Song Qingfeng, speaking softly, "Because I am going to kill him; the Emperor cannot protect him; his death is sealed. No one survives after touching those around me."
Song Qingfeng nearly jumped in fear; such rebellious talk was unheard of.
"No need to be so shocked, it's unnecessary. To you, the Second Prince is the Emperor's son, noble in status. Yet to Qin Yi, he is no different from the Three Kings of the Tianyue Empire, the beasts in the forest, or ants on the ground. He has no path to survive after harming those close to me. Not only a prince, but even an emperor would face death if they harmed those around me."
