Live-in Son-in-law-Chapter 1043: It’s All Fate
Qin Yi did not argue, because Yun Mengyao was right. Sometimes it's your fault if you don't go with the flow.
It's like pursuing a political career, everyone is corrupt, but you insist on being an honest official, how can others tolerate you? So, sometimes people have too many helpless moments; wanting to emerge untainted from the mud is indeed difficult.
The two chatted as they floated forward through the air.
After about two or three hours, Qin Yi suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?" Yun Mengyao instinctively stopped too, looking at Qin Yi with confusion.
Qin Yi gestured with his chin towards the front.
Curious, Yun Mengyao followed Qin Yi's gaze, and couldn't help but be slightly stunned.
In the distance, there appeared a city more magnificent than Miluo City, and what dazed her were the three large characters on the city gate... Fengwang City.
Could it be such a coincidence?
She didn't want to delay too much time in the Moon Desolate Domain, so she had stopped Qin Yi from going to Fengwang City. Who would have thought that randomly choosing a direction would still lead them to Fengwang City?
Qin Yi smiled and said, "I have to say, this is fate."
Yun Mengyao snapped back to her senses, looked at Qin Yi, and warned, "Even if it's Fengwang City ahead, you're not allowed to cause trouble."
Qin Yi chuckled, "What if trouble comes to find me? I have a feeling that even if I don't seek out trouble, trouble will still find me."
"You jinx." Yun Mengyao scoffed disdainfully, "The way you talk just proves you're a troublemaker, trouble follows you wherever you go?"
Qin Yi: "..."
How could it be his fault, for trouble to find him?
The two descended from mid-air and walked towards the city gate.
"Stop."
Qin Yi and Yun Mengyao were about to enter the city when a voice called out from behind.
Qin Yi didn't realize the soldiers guarding the gate were calling him since they were already in. It was probably directed at the people behind entering the city.
"You over there, stop."
Yun Mengyao looked at Qin Yi.
Qin Yi was slightly stunned; it seemed the voice truly was addressing him.
Qin Yi shrugged, "This isn't my doing, trouble came to me on its own."
He turned around, looked at the approaching soldier, and smiled, "What's going on?"
The soldier scrutinized him with a peculiar expression, "You with the strange outfit, where are you from?"
"I'm seriously telling you, I come from a High-level Civilization Planet, not a barbarian." Qin Yi said, twitching his lips.
The soldier looked at Qin Yi doubtfully, "High-level Civilization Planet? From which Deserted Domain?"
Qin Yi was taken aback, couldn't help but retort, "Forget it, pretend I didn't say anything. These clothes, I found them, they aren't mine."
Qin Yi felt helpless. Because of this modern outfit, he had been called a barbarian more than once, and his explanations never worked because these people had no idea what a High-level Civilization Planet meant.
Yun Mengyao was right; when everyone else is lost in drunkenness, being the only sober one is wrong. Everyone wears Ancient Martial Arts Clothing, but you wear something neat and tidy, then it's your fault, and you don't fit in, making you a barbarian.
"Found them? Where'd you find them?" The soldier obviously didn't believe Qin Yi's words.
Qin Yi gritted his teeth; though the gap between Primordial and Earth's civilization was vast, the inefficiency in handling things was surprisingly similar. These people always asked useless questions, never knowing what the key issue was. They seemed to want to ask about all eighteen generations of your ancestors, truly having nothing better to do.
"His clothes were found in a large mountain." Yun Mengyao approached and laughed.
The soldier's eyes went wide upon seeing Yun Mengyao.
Damn, men are all the same; except him, everyone else who sees Yun Mengyao looks like a lovesick fool. Is she really that stunning? Why doesn't he think she's that captivating or soul-stirring?
"Soldier brother, we are here in Fengwang City visiting relatives." Yun Mengyao said with a smile.
The soldier nodded absentmindedly.
"So, soldier brother, can we go in now?"
The soldier nodded, his face dazed, almost drooling.
Yun Mengyao pulled Qin Yi along, and in a flash, they disappeared. By the time the soldier came to his senses, Qin Yi and Yun Mengyao were already long gone.
The two walked into the city, strolling down the street, a handsome man and a beautiful woman, plus Qin Yi's 'strange clothes', caught the attention of many passersby.
Qin Yi frequently glanced at Yun Mengyao, his eyes filled with an odd expression.
Yun Mengyao, seeing the mischievous smile on Qin Yi's lips, couldn't suppress her irritation, "If you have something to say, say it. If you need to fart, let it out."
"With so many people, farting wouldn't be appropriate, right? I come from a High-level Civilization Planet, not like you barbarians, wouldn't do such a thing; after all, I'm a person with manners."
Yun Mengyao rolled her eyes, "Do you have any shame? Do the words 'mannered person' have anything to do with you? Have you forgotten your bad reputation on Earth just after coming to the Primordial? Shameless Blood Shura."
Qin Yi: "..."
"No matter how shameless I am, I wouldn't sell beauty."
"What did you say?" Yun Mengyao erupted, looking at Qin Yi with resentment, "Is it my fault I was born beautiful? Isn't it you lusty men who are the problem? Am I supposed to disfigure myself?"
The chain of soul-searching questions left Qin Yi speechless.
"Is this store selling clothes?" Qin Yi noticed a fabric store to the side and changed the subject.
Yun Mengyao turned to look, still upset. Qin Yi's words were too offensive; he actually said she was selling beauty. Angrily, she said, "No, that's a shop for making burial clothes."
Qin Yi: "..."
He rubbed his nose, smiling helplessly. He also realized his words just now were a bit much; saying that to a girl was indeed inappropriate.
But Yun Mengyao had already walked over to that store.
"Hey..."
Qin Yi opened his mouth, but Yun Mengyao cut him off as she turned back, scolding, "Follow."
"Didn't you say it's a store for making burial clothes?"
"Wouldn't that suit you just fine?"
Qin Yi: "..."
Alright, better not argue with a woman, as if he didn't hear it.
The two walked into the store, which had many ready-made clothes inside.
"Feel free to look around, let me know if you find something you like." The shop assistant greeted them enthusiastically.
Yun Mengyao pointed to a set of black clothes embroidered with gold trim and said, "Take that down, let him try it."
Qin Yi, however, said, "I think that white one is better."
"What are you fussing for? You're already handsome, wearing white looks girly."
Qin Yi: "..."
He shook his head helplessly, only able to take the black outfit handed to him by the assistant and asked, "Is there a place to change?"
"Just in the back. Please follow me."
Qin Yi followed the assistant to the back to change.
Yun Mengyao was growing impatient waiting, and Qin Yi finally came out.
Yun Mengyao's eyes brightened. Qin Yi, already handsome as a siren, now wearing this black, gold-trimmed ancient style attire, looked like a demoted immortal descending to the mortal realm. If he were a woman, surely he'd be the cause of a nation's downfall.
"Even changing clothes, you dawdle."
Qin Yi smiled wryly; it was his first time wearing such a cumbersome outfit, and it took quite a while to put on properly.
