Chapter 984: Chapter 136: Yun Sheng’s Suspicions

The Three Rules?

Is there any rule in the world that says a man can’t climb into his own wife’s bed?

Noticing the obvious disdain in the eyes of the Golden Qilin, the black-haired woman became even angrier.

The black-haired woman, who was currently the Regent King of Great Zhou, Yun Sheng, had a thin veneer of anger on her face, with two flames of fury burning in her dark eyes, making her look even more dazzling and extraordinary.

She bared her claws and pounced towards the Golden Qilin, intending to throw it out.

But the Golden Qilin reacted faster than she did, and its power surpassed hers. Even when using magic, this pest could always dodge successfully each time.

For three years, it had been like this every time, and every time she couldn’t defeat it!

Indeed, Yun Sheng had "adopted" the Golden Qilin for three years now. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

From fifteen to eighteen, Yun Sheng’s three years passed in the blink of an eye.

Initially, Yun Sheng was somewhat resistant to the existence of the Golden Qilin because, though it was a Demon Beast, it never agreed to stay in the Linglong Beast Tower.

Besides, this creature’s habits, aside from following her around all day without any reason and occasionally growling at the men beside Yun Sheng, another major habit was bed-sharing.

At first, Yun Sheng didn’t react, as Bo Bo used to sneak into her bed often too, and her bed was big enough, so she just treated it as having two more beast-shaped pillows.

However, as the bed-sharing incidents increased, Yun Sheng found that "Jin Bi’s" behavior was becoming more and more inappropriate.

Firstly, after successfully climbing into bed, it started to push Bo Bo away. Later, by some unknown means, it made Bo Bo give up the right to share the bed with Yun Sheng, monopolizing the bed-sharing right alone.

More outrageous was when Yun Sheng suddenly discovered one day that "Jin Bi" was actually a male Qilin.

Previously, Yun Sheng thought, given that Jin Bi had such an elegant demeanor and loved cleanliness, it must be a female Qilin.

After discovering "Jin Bi’s" gender, Yun Sheng refused to let it share the bed anymore.

She reasoned, saying that despite being a married woman, how could she sleep with a male beast.

However, no matter the methods Yun Sheng used, such as setting up a prohibition outside the room or moving to another room to sleep, "Jin Bi" always found her without fail.

Eventually, it reached the point where every morning Yun Sheng would wake up to find "Jin Bi" lying next to her, unmoved by wind or rain, and its behavior was becoming increasingly inappropriate in recent months.

For instance, it had even resorted to groping.

Yun Sheng decided she must teach "Jin Bi" a lesson today, showing it what rules were.

But just as Yun Sheng was about to speak, "Jin Bi" leaped, pinning her down on the bed. No matter how she kicked and cursed, the pest remained unbothered.

"Regent King, have you risen? It’s time for the morning court." came the greeting from the maid outside.

Hearing the maid’s voice, "Jin Bi" reluctantly let go of her.

"Come in," Yun Sheng said with a darkened face.

Several maids entered in single file, two of them carrying tea and a face basin.

Seeing Yun Sheng and "Jin Bi’s" appearance, the maids showed knowing looks.

They did not chatter but stood naturally in two lines on either side.

These maids were specially requested from Empress Dowager Wenren by Yun Bahe when he returned to Taiyuan Mountain three years ago to care for Yun Sheng.

The maids were aware of Yun Sheng masquerading as the "Regent King of Great Zhou" and never spoke of it outside.

The "Regent King" was different from other Royal and Nobles; she was very easygoing and did not hit or scold the servants, so they were not afraid in her presence.

They also knew their "Regent King" was a Summoner and had many Demon Beasts under her command.

But among these Demon Beasts, besides the aloof Bo Bo, the most prominent presence was the Golden Qilin named "Jin Bi" in front of them.

Almost every morning, roaring and fighting noises came from the "Regent King’s" room.

The maids didn’t need to see to know it was "Jin Bi" climbing onto the "Regent King’s" bed again.

It seemed only "Jin Bi" could make the "Regent King" act like a normal woman, different from her calm demeanor in front of others.

Today was no exception.

Seeing the maids’ amused faces, Yun Sheng felt very embarrassed.

It was all because of the damned "Jin Bi." Yun Sheng glared at the Golden Qilin, feeling like she had made a huge mistake in agreeing to let the Golden Qilin stay by her side.

This pest was just there to annoy her.

Golden Qilin Ye Beiming, however, remained indifferent to Yun Sheng’s angry glare.

In fact, Ye Beiming quite liked Yun Sheng when she was angry.

Though three years had passed and Yun Sheng had become more mature, her puffed cheeks and clawed gesture when angry made her look just like an enraged Wildcat.

Unafraid of the roaring behind him, he leaped off the bed into the presence of a maid, first dipping into a glass for a few sips of water to rinse his mouth, then placing his paws into one of the basins to wash.

Even though seeing "Jin Bi" wash up like a person every day, Yun Sheng was still somewhat unaccustomed.

After bringing Jin Bi back to Great Zhou, Yun Sheng discovered that "Jin Bi" was different from ordinary Demon Beasts.

No one knew if it was due to its bloodline, or whether "Jin Bi" had previous owners.

"Jin Bi" was very similar to a human; for example, it would rinse its mouth and wash its hands meticulously every morning.

And its grooming manner was elegant and noble, just like a prince born of the Royal Family.

Even while eating, he’d have someone cut his meat into pieces before swallowing it chunk by chunk, not forgetting to wipe his paws afterward.

Not only that, but he also insisted on taking a bath every day, which placed him in a different league from the pack of Demon Beasts in Yun Sheng’s Linglong Beast Tower.

Yun Sheng seriously suspected that "Jin Bi" had intelligence akin to a human.

Its behavior was nothing like that of a Demon Beast.

The more she interacted with "Jin Bi," the more she suspected its origins.

"Jin Bi" was a Qilin, and sometimes Yun Sheng couldn’t help but link "Jin Bi" with Ye Hu and the Hei Qilin Tribe.

Yet, from "Jin Bi," she couldn’t detect a trace of the Hei Qilin Clan’s aura.

Nor could she feel any hostility; at least, "Jin Bi" had no ill intent towards her.

It was a Qilin, but unlike the Hei Qilin Clan, it possessed no hostility, but rather, there was a faint divine power within it.

Yun Sheng had also asked Bo Bo about it several times, but every time she inquired about "Jin Bi’s" origins, Bo Bo pretended to be foolish and acted cutely, evading the question.

After finishing their morning routines, Yun Sheng and "Jin Bi" had their respective breakfasts and headed to the Dazhou Imperial Palace together, where Yun Sheng, in her role as "Regent King," would jointly preside over the morning court session with Empress Dowager Wenren.

This was a mandatory task for Yun Sheng every day for the last three years.
