Chapter 733: Chapter 226: A Boy as Beautiful as a Painting

These people were none other than Scar Nan and his associates, whom Ke Ling had entrusted with the task of assassinating Yun Sheng earlier.

Using the same method, they had previously lured and killed many newbies who had just entered the Dutian Beast Blood Realm, full of heroic spirit.

Having acquired clues from Ke Ling, they utilized falcons to track Yun Sheng’s movements.

Even though they knew that Yun Sheng was just a newly advanced Holy Mage, Scar Nan and the others did not dare to underestimate her.

After Yun Sheng left the post station, they followed her all the way, discussing before finally making their move against her.

Their plan was to feign robbery and then cry for Yun Sheng’s help, aiming to make her reveal her hand before catching her unawares.

Little did they know, Yun Sheng was highly alert and didn’t even give them a proper glance, let alone approach them, keeping her distance from afar.

Their plot thus came to nothing.

"Fortunately, the falcon had been following along. We’ll make our move after nightfall," Scar Nan motioned with his lips towards Yun Sheng’s direction, and they quickly followed suit.

Scar Nan and his group chattered incessantly as they continued tracking Yun Sheng.

On the other side of the hillock, a pair of men emerged.

These men moved without a trace, devoid of any magic or fighting spirit fluctuations around them.

They appeared young with handsome features, as though they had stepped right out of a painting.

Most distinctive were their eyes—one of them had purple eyes that resembled top-quality amethyst, while the other had green eyes, shimmering like tourmaline.

Both were similar in age, one tall and the other slightly shorter.

The green-eyed youth had a very cute appearance, with dewy skin and a lovable, round face.

The other, with purple eyes, was strikingly beautiful, with slender eyebrows and a cool, attractive face.

Their outfits were also meticulously selected, making them look like young masters of noble families out to gain experience.

One was adorned with a Magic Wand while the other with a Short Dagger, indicating clearly that one was a Martial Artist and the other a Mage.

It was a pity that Scar Nan and his group had already left. Otherwise, they would have been secretly thrilled, for just by their appearance and attire, the two seemed like prime, plump sheep.

Such attire and the fact that they were traveling alone clearly indicated that they were indulgent sons of noble families with wealth and leisure but not much capability.

"Zi, why did you stop me? Those guys are bad news," the green-eyed youth grinned, revealing two cute fangs.

"They’re all bad news," replied the purple-eyed youth with a look of disdain.

Green and Purple had witnessed the entire scene of Yun Sheng refusing to rescue and the others faking a robbery as a trap.

The purple-eyed man implied that both parties involved were no good and should be left to fight it out themselves.

"But I’m hungry," spoke the green-eyed youth, a mischievous, demonic glint flashing in his eyes.

"You never change your old habits. We are in the Dutian Beast Blood Realm; be careful. There are many formidable members of the Human Clan lurking around here," the purple-eyed youth shook his head.

"Not allowed to use magic, not allowed to feed, had I known this, I would not have agreed to come out with you," Green said, blinking, an expression of boredom on his face.

"It was you who wanted to see the Dutian Blood Seal, the one who sneakily followed me. I never said I would bring you along," Purple’s cool face carried a hint of dissatisfaction.

"Alright, alright, there you go nagging again, like an old man. Speaking of which, there’s really not a single good thing about humans. Just look at that woman who passed by earlier, she didn’t even frown when she saw someone getting robbed." Green and Purple had been secretly observing from a hidden vantage point earlier.

The spectacle of Yun Sheng not offering help was something Green found contemptible.

"The less united the Human Clan is, the better it is for us," Purple had no good feelings towards the human race, and even less so towards human females.

"Since everyone hasn’t arrived yet, why don’t we warm up with an activity before then? Are you interested?" A mischievous smirk appeared on Lu’s chubby face.

"What activity?" Zi knew that Lu loved to cause trouble; the boy had always been a headache for the elders in their clan back at home.

But since they had left the tribe, letting him relax a bit wasn’t a bad thing.

"Hunting," said Lu, spreading his hands with interest, holding several blood-stained badges between his slender fingers.

These badges were from some unreasonable mages he had encountered on the road earlier, whom he had killed and robbed.

The badges were marked with numbers.

According to those fear-of-death mages, these numbers represented the count of Blood Cloud Beasts they had killed since entering the Dutian Beast Blood Realm.

The Human Clan was despicable, taking joy in killing Blood Cloud Beasts. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Lu decided he would give them a taste of their own medicine.

He set out to do the exact opposite; if the Human Clan hunted Blood Cloud Beasts, he would hunt humans.

The contest between him and Zi would be who could kill more people, with the winner getting to demand one condition from the loser upon their return to the tribe.

Zi was straightforward, too. They both agreed to a time limit of one day and one night to see who could kill the most people in that period.

The two immediately separated, taking opposite directions along the north and south of Feiyue River.

On the other side of the river, Yun Sheng had been traveling for a while; she lifted her head to look at the sky.

Along the way, she hadn’t encountered a single Blood Cloud Beast, leaving her unsure if that was good luck or bad.

The sky, save for an eagle, was only dotted with a few thin red clouds, hovering on the horizon.

Night was about to fall.

At night in the Beast Blood Realm, the temperature would plummet significantly, and various nocturnal Demon Beasts would emerge—an easy time to be ambushed if unfamiliar with the surroundings.

Approaching a cave ahead, Lu noticed a faint glimmer of firelight emanating from within.

"Foolish Human Clan woman, daring to light a fire in a place infested with Demon Beasts," Lu sneered as he moved step by step toward the cave.

In the vast emptiness of the Dutian Beast Blood Realm, lighting a fire in a cave could attract Demon Beasts and might also invite bandits with ill intentions.

This alone could tell how shallow the experience of this Human Clan woman was.

But, everything still had to proceed according to plan.

Simply devouring her would be too boring.

A sinister smile that didn’t match his age or temperament crept onto Lu’s lovable face.

His greatest wicked pleasure was to capture his enemy and not kill them outright, but to play with them slowly to death like a cat tormenting a mouse.

The long night had just begun.

Lu pulled out the dagger from his body.

The dagger was uniquely crafted, shaped like a leaf—sharp and thin.

With a flash of the dagger, Lu made a cross cut on his own hand, blood immediately oozing out as he stuck out his tongue and moved forward.

Just as he approached the cave, a scent that tickled Lu’s nose wafted out.

"Who’s there?" The woman’s crisp and pleasant voice, like a clear spring ringing, suddenly heard in the dead of night, was as delightful as a string of wind chimes blown by the wind.
