Little Miss Devil: The President’s Mischievous Wife-Chapter 630
Why did he even ask? Li Yuren thought. Of course, she would be here because of Shen Yi. Was there any other reason for her arrival?
He watched the two from the moment they arrived at when they sat down with the other guests.
“I wouldn’t watch them if I were you. You’ll only hurt yourself further.” Li Qiao appeared on his side, wearing a red gown with a glass of wine in one hand. Li Yuren didn’t say anything but glanced on her face.
“Also, I’m pretty sure Shen Yi wouldn’t like it if he sees you staring at his wife,” she added.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Li Yuren turned around and leaned against the railing.
“I heard what happened. Are you regretting now?”
He raised a slender brow to his sister.
“You failed your chance with her, and she married Shen Yi instead. Then, during one of your special ops, you unlawfully invited Shen Yi to join you; and he ended up with injuries. Long Feng said Shen Yi would’ve died right, then if you didn’t intervene.”
“Don’t overthink, Sis. I cannot allow Shen Yi to die that night under my watch. Not only will it ruin my reputation, but I’ll also receive grave punishment for endangering a civilian’s life during the operation. It has nothing to do with Lu Xinyi.” His annoyance flared up.
Why was everyone thinking he wanted Lu Xinyi for himself? Li Yuren couldn’t remember anything he had done for them to assume such a thing.
—
Shen Yi was talking to one of the businessmen he was acquainted with when Lu Xinyi excused herself. She sat inside the cubicle, wondering if she should ask her husband to leave early. Qing Qing and the twins were left at the Tangs to spend the night with them.
As she sat contemplating whether she would make a call or not to her children, she heard the sound of tap water from the sink being turned on—indicating she wasn’t alone in the restroom. The cubicle on her right opened which was followed by a clicking sound of the heels, it stopped halfway; and a low chuckle was heard.
Outside, Chu Ting had just got out of the cubicle and was about to wash her hands when she saw Sun Feiyan at the sink, washing her hands before air-drying it. Sun Feiyan took a side glance at her before ignoring her completely.
Chu Ting couldn’t help but chuckle.
Wasn’t this Sun Feiyan whom Sun Qiyan said she must avoid? She couldn’t understand why Qiyan was so afraid of this woman but had tested Lu Xinyi’s patience again and again. This miss of the Sun family had a reputation of being cold and distant which differed from the rest of her cousins. Why did this woman still feel like she was still sitting in her high horse when in fact the Sun family was no more?
As the Sun family slowly became forgotten in the capital, Chu Ting didn’t expect to see Sun Feiyan be invited to Madam Li’s party. Was she trying to enter the social circle once again by using Ye Xingjie?
The rise of the Ye family after the fall down of the Suns hadn’t been foreseen by anyone except by the Shens and the Lis. Just under one year, Ye Xingjie had managed to singlehandedly defeat the previous competitors of their company. With an exclusive partnership with SY Holdings, new products were set to be released in a few weeks.
“Oh, I didn’t know Miss Feiyan would be invited here. Nice to see you again, Miss Feiyan.” Chu Ting bit out filled with sarcasm.
Sun Feiyan shot her a glance before deciding to leave. She had no time to play words with Chu Ting. Lu Xinyi might have enjoyed playing with a dumb woman like Chu Ting, but her patience was thin when it came to a petty person like her.
She didn’t wait for Chu Ting to reach out and brushed right past her, ready to leave; but the next words sputtered out from Chu Ting’s dirty mouth made her freeze. Her hand rested on the doorknob ready to leave, but she changed her mind, closed the door, and locked it from the inside.
“I wonder where you get the face to show yourself to the public when everyone knows how pathetic your family is. Oh, right, let’s start with you being born out of wedlock from a mere servant?” At this, Chu Ting burst into laughter. “Who would have known that the great Sun Miss would have come from such dirty heritage?”
She didn’t stop when she saw Sun Feiyan’s jaws hardened, her eyes narrowing at her.
“Did it really run on the blood of the Suns? Lu Xinyi had managed to ensnare Young Master Shen, and now you’re digging your claws on Ye Xingjie.”
Lu Xinyi, who accidentally overheard what Chu Ting said to her cousin, simmered with anger. This Chu Ting sure hadn’t learned her lessons yet! It seemed that sucking money from their family wasn’t enough to warn her.
Anyway, Chu Ting still had a debt to her to settle for endangering Zheng Yue’s life during their taping. True, she didn’t dare to meddle with the Tang family’s business, but Zheng Yue was a talent procured not only for Flair Apparel but for Griffin Entertainment.
She wondered if she should step up and confront Chu Ting, but even before she could decide, Sun Feiyan had already made a move.
“This, coming from a bitch who spreads her legs to any man she could use for an advantage? Unlike you, Xinxin and I only have one man in our lives. What makes you, Chu Ting? You have some guts, Miss Chu.” Sun Feiyan’s words were so sharp that it left Chu Ting speechless.
Even Lu Xinyi couldn’t stop the devilish smile spreading on her lips upon hearing her cousin’s provocation. Aiya, while Lu Xinyi likes to play with her prey, Sun Feiyan liked to dig her enemies’ deepest dark secrets and aimed for a swift kill.
Sun Feiyan stalked forward, and before Chu Ting broke from her daze, she found herself being pinned on the wall. A hand on her throat, Chu Ting’s eyes widened in shock as Sun Feiyan strangled her.
“Sun Feiyan! Are you crazy?!” Chu Ting tried her best to push away Sun Feiyan, but the woman’s strength was immovable.
‘What kind of monster is she?!’ Chu Ting wanted to scream for help from the outside, but Sun Feiyan had already locked the door earlier.
“Miss Chu, do you think I am as kind as Lu Xinyi? Do you think you can throw dirty water on me and won’t suffer a consequence?” Sun Feiyan whispered dangerously into Chu Ting’s ear. “Lu Xinyi might have let you off the hook in exchange for monetary gain, but do you know Miss Chu, I can also play dirty.”
Chu Ting shuddered as she stared wide-eyed at Sun Feiyan’s impassive, cold face. At that moment, Sun Feiyan’s hold on her throat tightened, and Chu Ting instantly regretted taunting her.
Sun Feiyan forced her to lift her up to meet her gaze filled with murderous intent.
“I suggest Miss Chu never show your face to me ever again. Who knows? Maybe one of these days, my crazy mind will decide to leak your intimate videos with your lover, dragging the Chu family with you.”
