Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Taking Him In

Perhaps it was because Silas Sutton’s expression was too serious; Stella Grant looked at his face, and her mind stalled for a few seconds.

The next second, under her gaze, Silas Sutton, with a taut jaw, put down the things he was holding and pulled out his phone to answer it.

"Grandpa."

Was it Mr. Sutton?

Silas Sutton had just greeted with "Grandpa," when Mr. Sutton’s stern voice sounded on the phone, "You still remember you have a grandfather?"

Silas glanced at Stella, turned around, and walked towards the window in the hallway, "I don’t want to argue with you today."

Mr. Sutton laughed angrily, "If you truly didn’t want to argue with me today, you wouldn’t have done that. You know how much Charlotte was looking forward to you attending her birthday party, yet you actually..."

Before Mr. Sutton could finish, Silas interjected coldly, "I’ve already made it clear to you before, Charlotte and I are not suitable."

Mr. Sutton said, "It’s not up to you to decide whether it’s suitable or not!"

Silas sneered, "Then who decides? You?"

Hearing Silas’s words, Mr. Sutton took a deep breath over the phone, trying to suppress his anger, "You come back to me right now."

Silas replied, "Impossible."

Mr. Sutton was furious, "Silas Sutton!! How much chaos do you want to bring to the Sutton Family before you’re satisfied!!"

Facing Mr. Sutton’s wrath, Silas’s previously stern voice suddenly became subdued and low, "If you don’t want me to come back, then I won’t. Don’t worry, I also won’t return to the villa you bought for me."

Mr. Sutton, who was initially enraged, was suddenly baffled upon hearing Silas’s words. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

When did he say he didn’t want him to come back?

Didn’t he just ask him to return immediately?

And when did he buy him a villa? The villa he lives in was bought by him, wasn’t it?

Before Mr. Sutton could figure out what was going on, Silas had already hung up.

When Mr. Sutton realized it and tried calling back, he was prompted that the other phone had been turned off.

Having ended the call, Silas put the powered-off phone back into his pocket, stood at the window for a moment, then turned to walk back.

At the door, Stella watched him, her lips pressed slightly, unsure of what to say.

She hadn’t heard what Mr. Sutton had said to Silas.

But she had heard Silas’s words clearly.

He had been driven out by Mr. Sutton.

With no place to call home.

Seeing Stella looking at him, Silas remained silent, bent to pick up the things placed on the ground.

Stella’s lips moved slightly, "President Sutton."

Silas, having picked up the items, stood up straight, and without continuing the previous topic, he asked her, in a low voice, if she hadn’t considered him a friend, "Let’s go in."

Stella, "..."

Maybe because of guilt, Stella felt a great deal of unease as she walked into the kitchen to cook.

While Stella was cooking in the kitchen, Silas sat on the living room sofa and opened his phone, first adding Mr. Sutton to the blacklist, then sent a text to Ben Lawson: What are you up to?

Ben replied instantly: Reflecting on life.

Silas teased: You’ve never even given birth, yet you reflect on life?

Ben retorted: You’re wrong there, why do I have to have given birth to reflect on life? Is there a wife in "Wife Cake"? Is there fish in "Fish-flavored Shredded Pork"? Is there a virgin in "Virgin Fruit"?

Ben initially thought Silas would certainly rebut these comments with a counter; who knew Silas would change the topic abruptly: I just had a fight with the old man.

Ben, well-informed: Because of Charlotte’s birthday party?

Silas didn’t hide it: Yeah.

Ben: Actually, I’m quite curious about your old man’s thoughts. Logically, with the current strength of the Sutton Family, there’s no need for any arranged marriage. What’s on his mind?

Silas: It doesn’t matter; just give me a call later.

Ben didn’t understand: ??

Silas didn’t explain in detail, mainly because he was too lazy to type: I’m telling you to call; just do it. Why so much nonsense.

Ben: Now?

Silas: In half an hour.

Half an hour later, Stella placed the freshly cooked dishes on the table, just about to call Silas for dinner, when she saw his phone on the coffee table ringing.

Silas picked it up and answered, "Hey, Mr. Lawson."

Ben’s joking voice came through, "What are you faking for?"

Silas answered seriously and cooperatively, "Yeah, the old man and I had a fight, and he’s not letting me go back."

Ben, mockingly bewildered, "Are you doing a stand-up comedy?"

Silas asked in a somber tone, "Could you lend me some money? I don’t have a place to stay tonight."

Hearing this, Ben’s mind raced, and his belated realization connected the dots, "Damn, are you at Stella’s place?"

Silas, sitting with his back to Stella, smirked subtly, almost breaking his composure, "If it’s inconvenient for you, forget it. I understand, after all, the Sutton and Lombard families are notable families, and I won’t make it difficult for you."

Ben cursed over the phone, "Mr. Sutton, I’ve learned a truth from you: the world is simple; it’s people who are complicated."

Silas remained expressionless, "Alright, no need to worry about me, I’m hanging up."

After hanging up, Silas put away his phone and turned around. The moment he met Stella’s eyes, his brows furrowed slightly like a shallow ’川’, "Stella, would it be convenient for you to let me stay for a few days?"
