Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 73: The Ambiguous Friendship
In the following week, Silas Sutton never came to the hospital, nor did he contact Stella Grant privately, as if he had vanished from the world.
Compared to Silas Sutton, Forrest Keller showed up at the hospital every day to make his presence known.
Stella thought he was simply being kind-hearted, and over time, they had developed a bit of a friendship.
Mrs. Grant was quite fond of Forrest Keller and would often subtly ask what kind of girls he liked, thinking of setting him up with someone.
Away from Silas Sutton’s gaze, Forrest Keller seemed like a different person, very talkative.
Every time Mrs. Grant suggested introducing a girlfriend to him, he always showed great interest, never dampening her spirits. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Keller, downstairs there’s a young girl who’s a teacher, she’s twenty-five, very nice. Would you like to consider it?"
As Stella was going back to Veridia tomorrow, Forrest Keller was helping her pack her luggage and turned around to respond to Mrs. Grant with a smile, "Okay, Aunt Adler, I’ll think about it."
Mrs. Grant said, "That young girl is also very pretty."
Forrest Keller replied, "Then I guess the chances aren’t high; she probably wouldn’t think much of me."
Mrs. Grant, always protective, now considered Forrest Keller one of her own. Hearing this, she said sternly, "Why wouldn’t she? You’re so outstanding, Keller, you need to be more confident."
Forrest Keller’s smile deepened, "Aunt Adler, to be honest, you’re the first person to ever praise me like this."
Mrs. Grant was curious, "Don’t your parents praise you?"
Forrest Keller admitted, "Not to mention praise, if they don’t criticize me when I get home, it’s because I’ve had a lucky day."
Mrs. Grant was surprised and believed him, "How could they be like this? Having such a good son is such a blessing."
Listening to the conversation between Mrs. Grant and Forrest Keller, Stella crouched on the floor, chuckling, and quietly said to Forrest, "My mom actually believed you."
Forrest Keller also responded quietly, "What I said is the truth."
Stella raised her eyes, "Are uncle and aunt really like this to you?"
Forrest Keller said, "I’ll show you sometime, my status in our family is like that free basin that comes with buying laundry detergent, or the bowl that comes with instant noodles. It’s a pity to throw it away, but having it feels redundant."
Stella chuckled, "Then your status in the family is quite low."
Forrest Keller sighed lightly, "Exactly, even Hua Hua has a higher status than me."
The name Hua Hua didn’t sound like a human name at all.
Stella followed up on his words, "What’s Hua Hua?"
Forrest Keller explained, "It’s a stray dog my mom picked up while doing square dancing, a male, and she named it Hua Hua. She dresses it in skirts and even puts headbands on it every day."
Whether it was Forrest Keller’s vivid description or Stella’s low threshold for humor, after he finished speaking, she burst out laughing.
After laughing, she felt it wasn’t quite right, so she tried to rein in her laughter, saying, "How interesting Auntie is."
Forrest Keller replied, "It’s not about being interesting; my mom studies the Book of Changes and believes in balancing yin and yang. We already have me and my dad as two men in the house, and according to my mom’s theory, Hua Hua can only side with her, or else our household would risk a trend of yin deficiency and yang excess..."
Stella bent down, placed the last piece of clothing in the suitcase, feeling embarrassed to laugh out loud again, her shoulders shaking as she faced away from Forrest Keller.
Forrest Keller saw this and pretended not to notice, standing up and walking to the bedside to continue chatting about matchmaking with Mrs. Grant.
That evening, when Forrest Keller left the hospital, Stella personally walked him downstairs.
In the elevator, Stella expressed her gratitude to Forrest Keller.
Thanking him for all his help over the past week.
Forrest Keller felt a bit guilty, embarrassed to accept her thanks, and awkwardly replied, "No need to be so polite, I also really enjoy spending time with Aunt Adler."
Stella understood, "When you have some time back in Veridia, I’ll treat you to a meal."
Forrest Keller didn’t dare commit, nor could he refuse, vaguely replying, "Let’s see when the time comes, I’ll probably have mountains of work piled up after taking a week off."
Forrest Keller held a significant position at Sutton Group.
Stella nodded in understanding, "Alright, we’ll see your schedule then."
After sending Forrest Keller off, Stella took the elevator back upstairs.
As she reached the door of the hospital room, she suddenly thought of something, took out her phone, and found Forrest Keller’s WeChat to send him a message: Assistant Keller, I forgot to ask earlier, what kind of cuisine do you like?
The chat box showed an immediate reply from Forrest Keller: ??
Stella: If you don’t have time then, I can make it for you and bring it to the company.
At that moment, Forrest Keller was on his way back to the hotel, unaware that danger was slowly approaching.
He had just stepped out of the car when his phone, tucked in his pocket, vibrated twice.
Forrest Keller stopped, took out his phone from his pocket, glanced at the message on the screen, and his hands shook, almost tossing the phone away.
President Sutton: Stella Grant asked what kind of cuisine you like, she plans to make it for you and bring it to the company after she returns to Veridia.
