Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 183: Crossing the Threshold
As Stella Grant finished speaking, a light chuckle and cough came from the hospital room door, courtesy of Silas Sutton.
"Ahem, is it okay for me to come in?"
Stella, "..."
Lynn Adler, "..."
Silas Sutton wasn’t alone; he was accompanied by three older doctors in lab coats.
After entering, Silas Sutton first introduced himself to Lynn Adler, saying he was a friend of Stella Grant, and then introduced the three people behind him.
"Auntie, these two are the dean and vice dean of the city hospital, and the other is the head of the nephrology department."
Lynn politely greeted the three, but her eyes kept assessing Silas Sutton.
Silas naturally felt Lynn’s gaze, but pretended not to notice, and respectfully said to the nephrology head, "Mr. Jacobs, thank you for your trouble."
The director addressed as "Mr. Jacobs" by Silas Sutton was flattered, "It’s nothing, it’s nothing."
Lynn initially assumed that these three were just going through the motions.
Unexpectedly, they conducted a thorough joint consultation for her.
After the examination, the dean smiled at Silas Sutton, "Within three days, we’ll provide the best treatment plan."
Silas Sutton, "Thank you, Mr. Lynch."
The dean patted his arm, "You child, no need to be so polite with me."
Silas smiled but said nothing.
After a while, Silas Sutton escorted the three out, and Lynn reached for Stella’s hand, whispering, "How come I remember he..."
Before Lynn finished speaking, Silas had already returned.
Lynn withdrew her hand from Stella’s, smiling awkwardly at him, "You’re Sutton, right?"
Silas Sutton displayed the perfect demeanor of a younger generation, "Yes."
Lynn asked, "You said you’re Stella’s colleague?"
Silas confirmed, "Yeah, that’s right."
Lynn smiled, appearing unperturbed, but was clearly not so easily duped, "I saw your photo on a magazine cover before."
Silas’s thin lips curved into a smile, handling it with ease, "I don’t photograph well."
Lynn chuckled but said no more.
Is this really about whether you photograph well?
It’s about why a boss like you would go to great lengths to appease my daughter.
Noticing a slight lull in the conversation, Stella gently tugged on Silas Sutton’s sleeve, "President Sutton, don’t you have something else to attend to?"
Silas Sutton looked down and met her gaze, his eyes filled with both humor and affection, "I’m not busy."
Standing with her back to Lynn, Stella glared at him.
Silas smirked mischievously, lowering his voice, "Manager Grant, please mind your identity, in what capacity are you glaring at me right now, hmm?"
Stella raised her lips to speak, but was interrupted by Ms. Dunn returning with lunch.
Ms. Dunn saw Silas and paused slightly, then smiled and greeted him, "President Sutton."
Silas responded with a smile, "Mrs. Dunn."
Silas looked handsome and, when he hid his playful side, had a distinctly gentlemanly demeanor. Mrs. Dunn was charmed by his greeting and couldn’t help but glance at him a few more times while placing the lunchbox down.
To be honest, he is a bit more handsome than Assistant Keller.
Thinking of Forrest Keller, Mrs. Dunn suddenly felt a bit sorry for him.
He might barely win over Ray Woods, but competing with his own boss, the odds are too slim.
Mrs. Dunn shook her head and let out a barely audible sigh.
Everyone in the room had their own thoughts, and no one noticed Mrs. Dunn’s subtle actions.
Lynn observed the two standing silently across from each other and cleared her throat, "Has President Sutton eaten yet? If not, why don’t you join us?"
Silas Sutton’s narrow eyes twinkled with amusement as he lifted his gaze to reply, "I haven’t eaten yet, thank you, Auntie. Just call me Sutton."
With that, Silas Sutton took a step forward, brushing past Stella Grant.
Watching his face, which looked as if he was about to declare himself her boyfriend at any moment, Stella pursed her lips again and again.
She strongly suspected that someone had cast a spell on Silas Sutton.
And it’s one that only affects romance, not business.
Stella was half-leaning back as she looked up at the ceiling and pondered, when Silas Sutton said something shocking in his usual manner, "Auntie, did you grow the flowers on the windowsill at home? They’re very beautiful. I noticed they were a bit dry last night, so I watered them for you. I’ve never grown flowers before, so I’m not sure if I watered them properly."
