Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 165: An Unlucky Start
Hearing Silas Sutton asking him to leave, Forrest Keller felt as if he had been granted amnesty.
Forrest turned his head to nod at Stella Grant, appearing calm, but his steps were noticeably quicker than usual.
With Forrest leaving, the office was left with only Stella Grant and Silas Sutton.
The two locked eyes, and Silas Sutton lazily smiled.
Looking at Silas Sutton’s mischievous grin, Stella Grant took a deep breath and stepped forward, not playing any mind games with him, and got straight to the point, "What did you mean by that post in your Moments?"
Silas Sutton feigned ignorance, "What post in Moments?"
Stella Grant replied coldly, "Silas Sutton."
Seeing that Stella was genuinely angry, Silas Sutton got up from his chair, strode over to her, and leaned down to say in a low voice, "You repeatedly deny our relationship, and I’m not allowed to complain in my Moments?"
Stella met his gaze, "You’re not complaining, you’re doing it on purpose."
Silas Sutton’s thin lips curled up, not denying it, "Yes, on purpose."
Stella, "Did you know..."
Stella wanted to say ’Did you know if people at the company figured out it was about her, it would cause a lot of trouble’, but Silas interrupted her before she could finish.
Silas Sutton said, "Stella, I’m a decent person. If you don’t give me a title, at least let me have some visibility."
After finishing his sentence, Silas reached for Stella’s hand, his long fingers slowly slipping between hers, then suddenly tightened, interlocking with hers.
Although it was just a simple affectionate gesture, done by Silas Sutton, it was intensely charged with emotion.
Stella’s body tensed slightly, instinctively retreating.
Silas quickly followed, pinning her against the desk, one leg naturally finding its way between hers, lowering his head to kiss her at the corner of her mouth, "It’s already posted, what should I do?"
Stella inhaled sharply, "Don’t go too far."
Silas chuckled softly, "Hmm, I wouldn’t dare go too far."
Stella started off poorly, suffering defeat.
Not only did she fail to get Silas Sutton to delete the Moments post, but he also took full advantage of her in the office.
When Stella left Silas Sutton’s office, she ran into Forrest Keller.
Forrest seemed about to go downstairs, seeing Stella, he pretended not to see her, and turned to walk back to his own office.
Stella’s lips moved, intending to say something to Forrest, but seeing how he was avoiding her, she ended up saying nothing and directly entered the elevator.
When she returned to the project department, Stella had completely adjusted her emotions. After attracting everyone’s attention with a clap, she smiled and said, "I’ve been here for a while, so tonight, I’ll treat everyone to dinner. If anyone has a preferred place, feel free to tell Assistant Wright."
When Stella finished speaking, the department members all smiled and complimented her warmly.
"How could we let Manager Grant spend money on us like that?"
"Yes, yes, since you joined, we should’ve been the ones treating you to a welcome meal."
Stella smiled gently, "It doesn’t matter who treats, but tonight, I expect those with a strong tolerance for alcohol not to leave sober."
"Then thank you in advance, Manager Grant."
"Manager Grant, can we choose a fancy and upscale restaurant?"
Stella nodded with a smile, agreeing, "Sure, no problem."
After chatting with a few people in the office area, Stella walked back to her office.
Yesterday, Shawn Bishop’s bonus arrived, and although no one said anything, Stella knew quite well this outing wouldn’t be cheap.
Moreover, she had never treated the project team to a meal since she joined; it had to be done.
Sitting down in her office, Stella began working, while a few employees outside her office whispered to each other.
"Have you all heard? President Sutton has an official girlfriend now."
"Who? Charlotte Shelby?"
"Apparently not. I heard two people from the finance department saying this morning in the cafeteria that President Sutton posted a picture of a woman sleeping on his Moments, with an unusually humble caption."
Someone asked curiously, "What was the caption?"
The person who started the topic covered their mouth and laughed, "Hoping this time wasn’t just a fling."
"Awww, is it true? For some reason, if other men said this, I’d find it greasy, but when President Sutton says it, it sounds so enticing."
"Isn’t it all down to his looks?"
At seven thirty in the evening, Stella led the project team into a high-end restaurant.
The project department, including Stella, consisted of eleven people, fitting perfectly in a private room.
While everyone was ordering, Stella stood up, took her phone to the hallway, and called Lynn Adler.
After finishing the call, Stella had just turned to head back to the private room when she found herself making eye contact with a few people heading straight toward her.
The person walking in the middle was Silas Sutton, dressed in a black shirt and trousers, with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing his muscular forearms and his watch.
Stella didn’t recognize the men beside Silas Sutton. However, one of them stood out, wearing a suit and tie, sporting a cropped haircut, exuding a professional look, but with a snake tattoo on his neck that extended right into his collar.
The man was leaning his head slightly to speak to Silas Sutton, his voice low and cold, "Is the girl from your Moments Charlotte Shelby?"
