Silence settled over the dungeon once again. The storm of fire and frost had passed, leaving only faint steam and scattered ice along the cracked ground.

From the fading bodies of the serpents, glittering remnants floated gently to the floor.

Soft blue light pulsed from the 4 round cores, each the size of a clenched fist, their surfaces lined with frozen crystal veins. And Two Skill books, engraved glowing arcane symbols, landed beside them with a thud that echoed faintly in the cavern.

Ryu stepped forward and inspected the loot.

He gave a satisfied nod. "Not bad. Hard mode really pays off well. At this pace, it won’t be long before I stop caring about coins."

Smiling to himself, Ryu stored the loot into his Fusion Lab with a flick of thought. Then, without wasting time, he pushed deeper into the frosted caverns, continuing his hunt.

The enemies came steadily. More Glacier Wolves, their fangs sharper and movements faster. More Ice Serpents slithered between jagged ice formations, striking from blind angles. Their levels ranged between 9 and 13, most hovering above the double digits. That alone told him what he needed to know.

"This difficulty isn’t meant for F-Rank Hunters at all," Ryu muttered while slicing through another lunging wolf. Blood splattered across the snow as the beast collapsed into light.

In truth, a regular F-Rank hunter wouldn’t last long here. Most would probably get overwhelmed within the first five minutes, their bones crushed or blood frozen beneath the weight of these monsters. This difficulty mode was designed for E-Rankers and above.

The ranks are differentiated by levels as follows:

Level 1–10 = F Rank

Level 11–25 = E Rank

Level 26–40 = D Rank

Level 41–60 = C Rank

Level 61–80 = B Rank

Level 81–99 = A Rank

Level 100+ = S Rank

As such, Soloing it as an F-Rank was nothing short of suicide.

But Ryu wasn’t just any hunter. He was a dragon in disguise. That’s why even hard mode became easy.

Moreover, he still had Grakar in reserve. He hadn’t even summoned him yet.

Why?

Because there simply hadn’t been a need to.

With his terrifying dragon claws, powerful wings, and an arsenal of deadly skills, Ryu was a formidable force on his own.

More importantly, he had already reached Level 10.

At level 10, Ryuzen stood as a terrifying outlier among F-Rank Hunters. His stats had far surpassed anything a typical Evolver could achieve at this stage.

And why not.

His raw power, agility, and vitality were not of a human, they were draconic.

With strength and agility both at 120, he could easily tear through most enemies before they even registered his presence. Vitality at 122 made him nearly immune to normal wounds, and granted him with terryfying endurance and stamina.

On the other hand, his 707 Mana gave him the energy to cast skill after skill without tiring so soon.

All that remained was to defeat the final boss of this mode.

Spreading his wings wide, he soared deeper into the dungeon, his senses sharp and alert, mentally preparing for the battle ahead.

The cavern stretched high above the ground, with ample space for a human-sized dragon to fly comfortably. Cold wind brushed against his scales as he navigated through jagged icicles and frozen peaks.

Eventually, he spotted it.

A massive figure stood at the far end of the cavern, half-shrouded in mist, its breath freezing the air around it.

Ryu hovered in midair, momentarily stunned.

[ Ice Giant (Elite) - Level 15 ]

The Ice Giant was nearly 5 meters with a bulky build and wore primeval beast skins for hiding private parts. It’s skin and eyes were blue, and it had no weapon, just raw brute force.

"GROOOWWL!"

The Ice Giant noticed Ryu immediately. Its glowing blue eyes locked onto him as it let out a guttural roar that echoed across the frozen cavern.

"Thud, Thud, Crack!"

With each step, the ground trembled, ice cracking beneath its massive feet.

Ryu narrowed his golden eyes. This was no ordinary monster. Its sheer size towered over him, and its aura pulsed with deadly cold.

Flap!

Swooosh..

He flapped his wings once and soared upward to gain distance. At the same time, he activated [ Frost Armor ], encasing his body in a layer of shimmering crystal-like scales that resisted the surrounding chill.

"GRRRR!"

The Ice Giant reached down and hurled a massive chunk of frozen earth at him.

Ryu dodged with a sharp [ Windleap Dash ], spiraling through the air.

The icy boulder missed him by a hair’s breadth, crashing into the wall behind and erupting into a spray of shards.

Ryu blinked, then smiled,

"Whoa! You’re so tough. You must hold a lot of exp for me."

He grinned and opened his maw, began gathering swirling frost and flame energy. "Buzz, buzz, buzz!"

The energy was strong and volatile that it buzzed the very air around it.

Then 2 second later,

"ROAR!"

He unleashed Sunflare Glacier Roar directly at the Ice Giant’s chest.

BOOOM!

The elemental blast hit like a meteor.

In the explosion of two extremes, erupted razor shards of ice that tore into the creature’s body.

The Ice Giant staggered back, its skin cracking with glowing lines of molten frost. But it did not fall.

BANG!

It raised its arm and slammed the ground, summoning a wave of jagged icicles from below.

Swoosh, Swish, Swish..

In the next instant, the icicles shot up with deadly precision.

"Ugh.."

Ryu grunted as his wings catching the upward burst just in time. One of the spikes grazed his hind leg, leaving a shallow cut.

"Damn..this thing hits hard," he muttered as blood trickled down, but the pain only sharpened his focus.

He charged forward, using Tunnel Gore Strike to burrow into the icy ground and reappear behind the giant’s leg.

SLAAASH!

With a swift upward slash of his claws, he aimed for the knee joint. Ice cracked under his power, and the giant let out another roar of rage.

Taking advantage of the moment, Ryu leapt into the air again and activated Phantom Claw, slashing out with a strike enhanced by ghostly energy.

The Ice Giant tried to block, but the attack phased partially through its arm, slicing across its shoulder.

Still, a final barrage was needed.

So Ryu unleashed [ Night Berserker ], flooding his body with primal might and speed. His attacks came faster now, claw after claw, bite after bite.

The Ice Giant fell to one knee, then toppled with a thunderous crash. "THUD!"

Ryu once again ran fast to touch the body to extract something, but just when his had was a moment away from touching, it Vanished.

Instead, a glowing light pulsed from the spot where the giant died.

Ryu landed beside it, breathing heavily, steam rising from his mouth.

Lying at his feet was glowing rewards.
