Limitless Evolution: I'm The New Dragon God?-Chapter 41: Rescue
Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Rescue
"Kekeke, what do we have here? A dragon out of legend? What a surprise!"
"What... a.. surprise!"
The voice belonged to a human. He looked about 40 years old, with dark skin and rotten teeth and red crimson eyes.
He sat casually atop a flat rock, his tangled hair swaying in the morning breeze, eyes gleaming with twisted amusement. A small fire crackled beneath him, and over it, Grakar was tied to a stick, slowly being roasted like meat.
"Argh... my Lord, you’re here... I am sorry... for the trouble...really."
Grakar groaned weakly, his voice filled with pain and shame. He had dragged down his lord.
His green scales were blackened, some already scorched. Yet even in such a state, his gaze remained loyal as he looked toward Ryu.
"Oh my, what a touching little reunion," the man cackled, revealing a mouthful of decayed teeth. His laughter carried across the mountaintop like a sick song.
Somehow, he was able to understand Beast Language.
"So, you two are master and servant?" he asked with a mocking grin. His tongue slid across his lips as his eyes locked onto Ryu’s form. There was hunger in his gaze. Not just curiosity, but a disturbing craving.
"You shine like royalty. I imagine you’d taste far better than this pathetic lizard."
Ryu did not answer. Because—

His pupils constricted slightly.
Shiver...
A chill ran through his entire body.
This was fear. Not the kind that made you nervous before a fight, but the kind that made every instinct scream to run. The pressure from the dark-skinned man was unbearable. A heavy miasma surrounded him, black and dense like tar, pulsing with malice. Just being near it made the air feel toxic.
Ryu had never felt anything like it before.
His breath caught in his throat, his wings twitched slightly. But he didn’t move.
If he panicked now, the man would only see him as easier prey.
So he clenched his jaw and suppressed the tremble in his chest. He stared directly into the man’s rotting eyes and spoke with a steady voice.
"You must be a Hollow who possessed this body, am I right?"
The man’s grin widened. A slow, creaking chuckle escaped his throat.
"Kekeke... So you’re not completely ignorant. That’s good. I like my food smart. It makes the meat tastier."
The fire crackled louder, and Grakar groaned again in pain. But Ryu’s gaze never left the enemy. His mind was already spinning for a plan.
But all plans would fail before this monster.
So, Ryu chose to gamble.
"Stop this atrocity at once!" he suddenly barked, his voice regal and commanding. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
The man’s brow lifted in surprise as Ryu continued, stepping forward with authority.
"I am a Dragon Prince. How dare you treat my subordinate like this?" he roared, his body radiating intense solar energy.
The air shimmered with heat, and the golden light from his body burned into the man’s skin. A faint sizzle followed, and the dark-skinned Hollow recoiled slightly as smoke rose from his arm.
His expression shifted. For the first time, there was a flicker of fear in his eyes.
"You’re... a descendant of the Sun Dragon?" he asked, his voice trembling already.
"Yes," Ryu declared with unwavering confidence. "I am the blood heir of the Sacred Sun Dragon. If you dare harm me, my father will tear through realms to hunt you down. You will not survive."
Thud!
The man stumbled back, legs buckling under him.
"No... No. This can’t be... The Dragon Realm? The Sacred Sun Dragon? How can they come back? This must be a nightmare..."
He shrieked and dropped to the ground, crawling backward like a frightened worm.
Ryu blinked in disbelief. He had expected resistance, maybe even more aggression. But this? This was pure terror.
The Hollow had crumbled from just the mention of a name.
The mention of the Dragon Realm sparked a deep curiosity in Ryu’s mind.
The Hollows, the Systems, the Dragon Realm—everything felt shrouded in mystery.
Why were the Hollows afraid of Dragons? And what did that man mean by saying they shouldn’t have returned?
He recalled what Chester once mentioned about the myth of the Dragon Queen, Tiamat. Could everything be connected somehow?
He had no answers. Not yet.
For now, all he could do was stay cautious and alert.
On the other hand, the Hollow continued muttering in a strange, incomprehensible tongue.

THUD!
With a loud crash, the dark-skinned man suddenly collapsed, as if struck by a heart attack.
"What the hell just happened?" Ryu muttered, stunned.
He stood speechless for a second, then quickly moved to check for a pulse.
There was none.
To be absolutely sure, he tore apart the man’s head. The sight was grotesque and nauseating.
Instead of red human blood, thick black liquid oozed out. It was dense and foul, no longer the blood of a human.
"Ahem, my Lord, please set me free first. I am burning here!"
Grakar’s voice echoed pitifully, snapping Ryu out of his daze.
"Oh right, right! I almost forgot you were still roasting," Ryu said, rushing over.
With a swift slash of his claw, the strong vines binding Grakar dropped to the ground.
Grakar flopped forward like an overcooked fish, letting out a dramatic sigh.
"I was this close to becoming grilled crocodile meat, my lord. If you were one more minute late, he’d have added spices on me!"
He began rolling on the dirt, rubbing his scaly back like a lizard with a sunburn.
"Oh sacred soil, heal me!"
Ryu tried not to laugh, but the sight was too much. Grakar looked like he was trying to summon earth spirits by squirming in mud.
"I do have some healing salve, but... it’s more like a sample size. You’d need a bathtub of it."
Grakar sniffed dramatically. "Truly, I suffer so much today, my Lord. Next time, please come 5 minutes sooner."
"Haha," Ryu laughed, amused. "Now let’s get down. We’ll find some water for that roasted back of yours, and maybe find something edible on the way. I’m starving."
Before leaving, he transported the Hollowfied corpse beside others to use them later.
"Can’t waste free resources," he mumbled before climbing down carefully.
