Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster-Chapter 42 - 41: What Ball Did You Think It Was?
South Grant was bewildered for a moment before she realized it—Chester Lynch didn’t know she was a girl, so how could he possibly be asking about her big balls.
Could it be about playing basketball?
As South Grant was pondering, Chester Lynch asked her again:
"Do you know how to play basketball?"
Only then did South Grant realize that her thoughts had gone off in the wrong direction earlier.
"Oh, oh, oh, so it’s basketball." South Grant felt a bit embarrassed inside.
"Otherwise, what kind of ball did you think I meant?" Chester Lynch raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Nothing, nothing..."
Chester Lynch didn’t understand why South Grant looked off-color, but the team was short of a member now, and with no one to find temporarily, he asked her again:
"Our team is missing a player now, and the game is about to start. I don’t know where to find someone on such short notice. Can you play basketball?"
"I can..." watch others play basketball.
But before she could finish that sentence, she had only said "I can," when Chester Lynch pulled her in.
"If you can, that’s enough. Go get him that uniform, meet the team members, and fill in for Two Fat’s position."
"Okay, Lynch."
At this point, South Grant hadn’t managed to say a complete sentence before being pulled in to change clothes.
Once inside, Chester Lynch handed her a basketball uniform and tossed it over.
"Quickly put it on; the game is about to start."
"But I..." South Grant just started to speak when someone nearby patted her on the shoulder.
"Alright, stop dawdling like a woman. Our team is short, there’s no qualification to join the game without enough players."
South Grant looked at them and finally swallowed, asking:
"If I play terribly, will it affect our team’s performance?"
The guy who had patted her spoke up with a smile: "Just look at who’s on our team. With Lynch here, what are you afraid of? He can carry us all by himself."
Well, that’s a relief.
South Grant finally let out a breath of relief.
She always felt pressure. If they lost because she didn’t know how to play, she’d be a sinner.
After knowing Chester Lynch’s strength, she was reassured.
Everyone was urging her to change clothes, and here, it was all guys, so changing clothes just involved taking it off and throwing it on.
South Grant could undress in front of Nathan Foster without psychological burden, patting her chest and saying it’s flat. But in front of these people, she didn’t have the face for it.
After all, Nathan Foster had seen, eaten, touched all he was supposed to in a previous life. She wasn’t afraid of being boiled as a dead pig in employment.
But now...
South Grant threw the basketball uniform aside, saying:
"This jersey is too big, and the pants’ waist is too loose; they’d flash on stage."
The waist of the clothes was indeed large, South Grant couldn’t wear them.
And as the game was about to start, Chester Lynch looked at South Grant, then said:
"Just go like this, there’s no rule saying you must wear a basketball uniform."
Hearing Chester Lynch say so, South Grant only then relaxed.
At that moment, someone called for the players to enter; South Grant followed behind them into the court.
Her understanding of basketball was roughly "Wow, so cool!" "Wow, another score!" "Wow, I’d give this move a hundred!"
Other than that, she knew nothing at all.
Back then, she had a crush on Chester Lynch and had watched him play a few games, but honestly knew very little about the rules on the court.
Once everyone was on the court, the referee blew the whistle and threw the ball out.
As it was nearest to South Grant, she instinctively caught the ball.
