The whole room was thrown into silence, and a cold aura permeated the air like a storm.

"Fuck." Rio cursed himself in annoyance breaking the silence where everyone just tried to contemplate everything he said.

"Brother, you…" Amy, the closest to him, went forward and stepped in front of him. Trying to get some words out, but before she could, a chilling aura spread everywhere, as a clang of the Mystique sword Shade was heard above the Raven estate, alarming literally everyone.

"What do you mean, Rio?" He asked his son coldly.

Artemis tried to calm her husband, placing her hand on his arm. "Agnus, calm down."

A trace of gentleness flashed across his face as he felt her presence, before being replaced with an even more boldness. "Not now, Artemis." He sternly replied.

"Rio.. I asked you a question, What Do You Mean?" Agnus asked, while forcing Rio to turn around and meet his gaze.

"Father, I didn't mean …"

Rio tried to salvage, trying to lie and make up something, but before he could even start speaking, Agnus's cold tone cut him off.

"I don't need excuses, Rio." He shouted, well too aware of his son's personality.

"Tell Me, who will attack Damascus, and what happens to your mother?"

"Nothing." Rio replied, looking back at Artemis, who despite hearing her fate tried to remain calm, "Nothing will happen to her."

"She'll be safe, father. I promise." Rio explained honestly.

But Agnus interrupted him. "That's not an answer."

"I asked you, who will attack Damascus and what happens to your mother _ in the fate you foresaw?" Agnus asked again, this time with a bit more clarity. Leaving no loopholes in his question for Rio to switch or sneak through. But the truth.

"...."

Seeing as Rio remained silent in face of their father's anger, Amy could only come forward to help him. Standing between them so her father doesn't lose control.

"Brother, tell us, please." She asked, hoping he will tell her the truth at least.

Yet Rio only looked at the ground, with a lost look.

Clearly no intent in explaining things further.

"That's enough. Since you don't want to speak, I'll search it myself." Agnus said as he pushed Amy aside and rolled up his sleeves.

"What? But father that'll hurt brother.." Amy mentioned the moment she heard her father's words, but Agnus simply shook his head in response.

"Nothing, I cannot heal." He replied calmly and walked up to Rio.

His figure towering over Rio, and especially due to the way they stood or the aura they exhuded at this moment, it really did seem like a giant towering over Goliath.

His hands started gathering mana, and under the unbelievable eyes of everyone, he raised his palm to place it over Rio's forehead.

Rio, who was feeling heartbroken at the way things escalated out of his control, felt the mana circling over his head, and immediately remembered the overpowered anomaly sleeping in his mind.

Cold sweat broke out on his forehead as he remembered what happened the last time someone dared to enter his conscious without invite.

"Father, no…." He shouted, stepping back, while using his hand to push Agnus's arm away.

But he was still too slow, too late to react in time or stop the sword saint.

Mana took form and circled around his forehead like a snake eating it's own tail.

Rio felt the swirling crown of magic still lingering around his mind, and immediately channelled his own elements and blessings to resist.

His palms turned darker as he bent down, seemingly holding his hair. And finally with a painful grunt, he managed to grab the invisible threads of magic and tore it apart with a jerk.

His body felt weak, but he breathed a sigh of relief while panting heavily.

Damn the difference between strength.

Rio was still breathing heavily, when a pair of feet stopped in front of him. Freezing all his thoughts in fear.

"Just tell me the truth, Rio." Agnus asked, giving his son a final chance.

".....I _ Can't." Rio said while forcing himself to stand up and struggle, only to feel marred by the Mystique.

The sword of Shade left it's void and floated behind him, suppressing his soul to it's very core. Making him just look up helplessly as his father raised his hand again.

"Father, don't…He'll kill you." Rio barely managed to mention this under his breath, as he closed his eyes in fear. Too afraid to see the next scene with his own eyes.

But after a few seconds passed, and when the expected chill of magic, or the dissection of ashes and dust still didn't hit his face _ did he dare to open his eyes.

In front of him stood Artemis, holding Agnus's hand and blocking his magic with her shadows.

Rio finally breathed a sigh of relief, relaxing his nerves, and simply fell to the ground in a slump.

"Brother…" Amy immediately came forward to support him. Holding him in her arms.

"Art…"

"That's enough, husband."

Agnus tried to speak, but Artemis cut him off directly. ƒгeewebnovёl_com

"Don't ever do this again." Artemis said sternly and before Agnus could even utter a but, she went on to finish her sentence with a classic, "I won't say it twice."

Artemis looked at her children, and just sighed to herself.

The Mystique sword disappeared on it's own. Freeing Rio finally.

"You can relax. It's fine now." Artemis muttered as she pulled him up and helped him sit beside herself.

Rio looked at his mother's eyes, which still stayed calm unlike the unrest in his father's gaze, and couldn't help but feel compelled to explain.

"Mother, I really can't tell you, otherwise I… ."

"I know. I trust you." Artemis replied, interrupting him.

"Artemis, he…" Agnus tried to speak, but Artemis interrupted him too.

"Enough, Agnus." She spoke, "We both know knowledge from fate's blessing cannot be shared easily."

"And if Rio didn't tell us, then there must be a reason for it."

"Or do you now suspect that your own son would harm your family?"

"..." Agnus didn't reply as arguing with Artemis was a losing battle anyways. But still, that didn't mean, he forgot everything.

He still remembered Rio's words, and felt the threat looming over Damascus, threatening to harm his wife.

(I don't care who you are, but if you dare to even think of harming her, … )

Artemis glanced at her husband from the corner of her eyes, - how could she not understand what he was thinking.

Any other day she would've found it cute or funny, and maybe even tease him a bit _but remembering what Rio said a few moments ago, she couldn't help but clench her fists.

(I don't care who you are, or what your relationship with my son is. But if you dare to even harm a single hair on my husband's head…)

"....." Rio looked at his father, then at his mother, … and then just closed his eyes.

How could he not guess what these two were thinking, one of them probably sentenced a god to death, while the other went after a godkiller.

(Can this day get any more worse….) Rio muttered in his heart, and before he could even fool himself into saying, that's impossible .. A few rows of bad news flashed in front of his face.
