After weighing his options, Jayden took three bars of gold, small enough to fit in his pockets since he didn’t want to draw other students’ attention.

And while doing that, the professor protected him from dungeon traps and even showed him secret paths he could easily walk without triggering a trap.

Jayden played along, giving off the normal teacher-student vibe, but he could feel the tension between them.

Just maybe the professor might have uncovered his secrets.

The path out of the dungeon was safe and easy under the professor’s guidance.

Just as they emerged to the surface, Jayden saw most students lying on the ground with their skin glowing blue with faint signs of mana poisoning while Mana Physicians were doing their best to revive them.

’But Mr Tony was with them!’ Jayden’s mouth opened wide. Seems the man didn’t lend them any help so it was probably hell on earth for those who couldn’t pull off the mana skin technique.

Just then, Jayden’s new elder brother bumped into him and the professor with haste.

"Practicals are over young man." Mr Tony muttered with authority

SSS-RANKED Draco bent low with a narrowed gaze at Jayden and whispered, "Good thing you’re alive."

The professor left them then Jayden scratched his nape, "Sure about that?"

"I don’t eat corpses, so you’d better keep your soul in your body. By the way, amongst all the humans I’ve seen, you’re the only one who absorbs Mana without dragon scales, what’s the little secret? Or is it just a special feature from my little brother?"

Jayden flung his hair to the side stylishly, "Here’s the secret, I’m a handsome genius."

SSS-RANKED Draco scratched his beard as if thinking of something, "That means I should eat you earlier since my father keeps calling me a fool and that Water clan princess doesn’t wanna accept my proposal."

"Argggg" Jayden gritted his teeth, then took a view around him.

He noticed Ryan and Tyler resting in a corner,

’I’m glad they didn’t get hurt’, Jayden thought, then shifted his gaze to Troy’s group—always as boastful and sarcastic as ever. They probably used their beast forms to conquer the dungeon but not everyone can do that.

Someone with a plant beast like Tyler would basically become a tree in his beast form and that wouldn’t be any advantage in such a zone.

He turned again and met Zoe’s gaze. She gestured at him with a smile from afar, asking why it took him so much time.

Jayden smiled, seeing the relieved look on her face. He pushed his arm upwards to wave at her, but then he forced it back, side-glancing at SSS-RANKED Draco.

He wasn’t gonna risk involving her in his circle of danger knowing fully well how bad guys use loved ones as motivation to get what they want.

It was painful, but to keep her safe, he shifted his gaze as if he had never noticed her.

’Fuck this bitch of an elderly brother.’ Jayden clenched his fist.

Then turned his gaze and met the professor’s eye-to-eye.

"Shit." He immediately turned away. ’Gon dammit, that man knows something.’ Jayden clenched his teeth.

SSS-RANKED Draco leaned in, "The man’s giving you a tough time?"

"No!’ Jayden nodded.

"Okayyy, since you can absorb mana, why don’t we go to a place where you could boost three levels in one day?"

"Three levels?" Jayden raised an eyebrow, that would be moving from D-rank tier 3 to C-rank tier 1. An invitation to save about three hundred crystals, but...

"Where is that,"

SSS-RANKED Draco pocketed his arms. "You’ll know when we get there "

The next day in Jayden’s room, he was lying on the bed while Ryan sat beside him with his phone—probably playing his favourite game "Call of Duty. Season 202"

Tyler was busy with some push-ups, but instead of using his arms, he was using his vine and continued whispering while sweat dripped off his face, "Vines.... Must.... Grow... Muscles..."

Meanwhile, SSS-RANKED lay on the floor on the other side of the wall, tossing a Rubik’s Cube into the air.

But Jayden was unsettled. Today was the day he had promised Zoe a chat in her hostel room.

As if that was not enough. He had missed the first meeting they had scheduled for the same reason, and repeating that might not be taken as a coincidence or might even make her agitated, so she might decide to get answers from her father.

But if he stood up to leave now, SSS-RANKED Draco would tail behind him for sure.

"Dammit, it was a pinky promise for goodness’s sake, and if I don’t go, I might open Chapters with MAGEO again."

Jayden took a deep breath and confidently left the bed. He wore some perfume, brushed his hair without saying a word, grabbed his ATM card and headed straight for the door but SSS-RANKED Draco’s Rubik’s Cube got there first.

"Where are you going, little brother?"

In Jayden’s mind, he was rolling on the floor with frustration. Jayden side-glanced at him "Cafeteria."

"I’m tagging along!" SSS-RANKED dragon stood up."

Jayden spun around and frowned, "Not looking like that, you haven’t even taken a shower since last night."

The next thing Jayden saw was SSS-RANKED standing in front of him while the bathroom door was closing slowly, "Any more excuses?"

’Damn you...’Jayden cursed in his mind. "Bro those are my clothes"

SSS-RANKED Draco looked at himself, "What? You aren’t willing to share them with your elder brother?.

"...." Jayden tried to speak, but the words never came out. He turned for the door before things became worse.

"We’re tagging along too..." Tyler and Ryan walked up behind him.

Jayden’s shoulder dropped. He was clearly not seeing Zoe today.

He pointed at them, shouting almost angrily, "No one’s bills are on me!"

Then rushed to open the door, but his breath caught in his chest.

’Mr Tony?’

The man smiled and stepped into the room, looking around with a surprised gaze.

"You guys did a lot of improvement here!" He nodded at the AC units which were only available to the Top three rooms.

"Is anything the matter sir?" Jayden nervously whispered.

The man turned to Jayden like his attention was called for. "Ohh, nothing serious. The Managing Director just wants to see you!"

Jayden’s heart skipped, and his gaze fell on all his roommates.

’"Could it be the professor really notices me using the Wind elements?.

"Me?" Jayden hit his chest, raising an eyebrow at the professor.

"Yes, you, Jayden Logan."
