Leveling Up by Seducing Milfs-Chapter 210. Zorathia Stands
The Forbidden Guardian’s many eyes were all on the attacking group, and there was intelligence in their depths. This wasn’t a stupid creature with a corruption, but this was something that knew how to use tactics and could learn while adapting to every situation.
All six of Cthulhu’s arms moved at the same time. Three of them grabbed the ocean below and pulled up huge amounts of corrupted water.
"W-What the...?!" Rick was shocked to see that Cthulhu is about to send an attack.
The other three, including the one that was growing back quickly, reached for the sky and pulled down the storm clouds.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS IT DOING?!" Zara screamed while in shock seeing the Cthulhu literally pull the sky.
The creature was able to control the water and wind, which made a vortex of corruption that spun around its body like a shield.
Natasha yelled, "It’s defending itself...!"
"According to tactical analysis, it’s adapting just to fit our attack patterns!"
"WE NEED TO ATTACK IT AGAIN!!!" Rick screamed in panic.
Rick and the others start to let out more coordinated attacks until their second attack hits the vortex and breaks it up, sending the corrupted wind and water in all directions and spreading their combined power.
None of it got to Cthulhu’s real body.
Then, the creature retaliated, and the situation worsened.
Cthulhu’s head had dozens of tentacles, each hundreds of meters long, that moved like whips. One caught Sylvia in the air and slammed her into the ocean so hard that it made a crater in the water.
Another one wrapped around the New Leviathan and squeezed it to crush the Guardian, even in golden armor.
Carmilla barely missed a tentacle that would have cut her in half. She rolled through the air with her sword cutting wildly.
Natasha made walls of ice, but they broke like glass when the tentacles hit them. Liora’s divine shields held for a few precious seconds before they broke.
Zara got hit directly and fell through the sky, blood pouring from her mouth. Thalor and five of his brothers and sisters weren’t quick enough, and a long tentacle caught them and threw them hundreds of meters away.
They were injured one by one... Despite Zephyra’s improvements, they were losing without a chance of winning, even with their combined strength and whatever they threw at the creature.
Rick could feel it through his bonds. His partners were getting close to their limits.
Carmilla’s strength was fading. Natasha’s magic was almost all gone. Liora was so tired that she could barely keep flying. Zara’s Blood Price had taken too much of her health. Sylvia’s dragon fire was even fading.
And through it all, Nerissa kept the barrier up that prevented the corrupted tsunami from getting through. She couldn’t help them fight because if she let go of that spell, Tidebreak Port would be flooded with corruption.
Carmilla shouted, "We can’t keep doing this!" Her voice was hoarse.
"Rick...! We need to... fall back and regroup...!"
"There has to be another way to stop this thing...!"
Rick wanted to fight and come up with a brilliant plan to turn things around, but his body and mind were both too tired to do so. They had given it all, and it still wasn’t enough.
Cthulhu spread its wings all the way out, the tears were already healed, and it started to rise into the sky. It was clear where it was going.
The coastal cities. The millions of lives that had no idea what was coming.
And they couldn’t stop it.
Rick felt like despair was going to take over him. "N-No...!!! FUCCKKK!!!"
This was it... They had lost...
There was nothing he could do to stop Zorathia from falling into corruption.
Then he felt Nerissa’s fear through their Spirit Bond.
The Empress was having another attack. Her mind was breaking down because she was watching everything she had tried to protect fall apart.
The wall that was holding back the tsunami gave way, and the corrupted water rushed forward several meters before her kids worked together to fix it.
Rick screamed through their bond, "NERISSA...!"
"Don’t shut down now! Stay with me! Please..."
But she didn’t hear him. Eight hundred years of trauma, fifty years of guilt, and now she was 100% sure that her failure to stop Cthulhu’s creation six hundred years ago was going to kill millions of people.
There was too much.
Rick flew toward her, avoiding tentacles and corrupted wind, until he got to his empress and grabbed her face. "Look at me! Nerissa, look at me!"
Her eyes were unfocused, and she was in a state of panic and despair.
Rick said, "We haven’t lost yet," even though he didn’t really believe it.
"Reinforcements are on the way...! Fredrich is bringing the Mage Council, and we just have to hold on a little longer."
Nerissa whispered, "How...?! How much longer?!"
"How long can we keep this up before that thing destroys everything?! And before I see another kingdom fall because of what I did?!"
Rick didn’t know what to say. Things were getting worse by the second.
Cthulhu was inching closer to the land, leaving his partners exhausted. The barrier against the tsunami was not working. It would still be a few minutes before reinforcements arrived.
They needed a miracle...
And then...
...as if the universe had heard his desperate prayer, space started to rip apart all around them.
At the same time, hundreds of teleportation circles opened up, each one sending out battle-ready mages wearing the unique robes of Valdris’s Mage Council. Fredrich appeared at the center of the formation, his silver hair blowing in the corrupted wind and his staff glowing with concentrated magical energy.
Beside him, Guildmaster Roderick was dressed for battle and standing with the Guild’s strongest adventurers.
Roderick shouted over the storm, "SO SORRY TO KEEP YOU GUYS WAITING FOR SO LONG!"
"We require comprehensive preparations to confront the impending end of the world!"
More circles appeared.
Dragon from the Northern Peaks, led by the dragon councils who were loyal to Sylvia.
Demon soldiers from the Eastern Wastes, who were led by Vyra as their new general.
Then came the holy knights from Liora’s temple, who had received divine protection from corruption.
The battlefield changed from a last-ditch effort to a real war in just a few seconds. Thousands of reinforcements, all of whom were ready to fight to keep Zorathia alive.
Fredrich raised his staff, and the magic of amplification made his voice carry across the whole army. "Formation of the Mage Council Delta!"
"MAGE COUNCIL FORMATION DELTA! "
"FULL ASSAULT ON THE CORRUPTION ENTITY!"
"SHOW THIS ABOMINATION WHY HUMANITY HAS SURVIVED FOR MILLENNIA!"
Hundreds of mages started casting at the same time, their magic working together thanks to years of training and experience in battle. Magic of all types converged on Cthulhu from every direction.
Lightning... fire... ice... earth... wind... light... and shadow...
The Forbidden Guardian screamed as the attack hit it from too many places for it to protect itself this time. Its broken vortex shield couldn’t stop attacks from coming from all sides at once.
Rick’s weary body experienced a sudden surge of hope. They were no longer isolated in their struggle.
Reinforcements had arrived, and this time... they had a real chance.
He held up the Trident of New Tides and yelled to everyone who could hear him.
"ZORATHIA STANDS!"
"PUSH IT BACK! FOR OUR WORLD! AND FOR OUR FUTURE!"
"ATTACK!"
The five Major Powers, thousands of warriors and mages, and the Hero of Mature Hearts all attacked Cthulhu at once. The sky was lit up like the dawn of a new age.
And for the first time since waking up, the Forbidden Guardian had to stop moving forward and protect itself.
The fight for Zorathia’s life had really begun.
