Chapter 133: Ch:133 The blind Prince — Kalhan

"Looks like my time is up. But I can tell you this—don’t get cut by his sword, not even a little," Elimme said before her figure began to fade.

"Wait!"

She vanished.

Daniel immediately clasped his hands and prayed before the statue. "Queen Elimme."

But she didn’t appear.

’’What kind of information is that? A blind man with a sword I can’t even get cut by? Sounds interesting,’ he thought, glancing at the map.

Gripping his axe tightly, he headed north. The journey was long, yet strangely he felt neither hunger nor thirst. He couldn’t think of any logical reason why.

Midway, he encountered numerous wild animals. He avoided the packs, but for the rest, he honed his skills. Bolt after bolt, he unleashed his attacks — chugging mana potions and cleaving heads with his battle axe.

*CHOP!*

"Smoke? That must be another merchant," he murmured, lifting Jaboaron’s head.

Daniel stepped forward and tossed the head before the merchant.

*THUD-THUD-THUD*

The merchant was astonished to see an outsider — and even more surprised to see that he had brought items to sell. Not one, not two, but three.

"Hello, outsider. How can I help you?" said the merchant.

"What do you sell?" Daniel asked, straightforward.

...

Every merchant in this world had a specialty in a particular category. Some specialized in rare maps, others in wearables, and this one focused on potions.

The rest of the categories were common across most merchants.

...

"Resistance potions?" Daniel asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Yes. This potion grants ten percent defense for ten minutes," the merchant replied, his expression neutral.

Daniel glanced at the yellow liquid, which looked like turmeric powder stirred into water.

"Far," he murmured under his breath.

——————

Name: Resistance potion

Type: Potion

Description: A potion made from the yolk of a Vulker’s egg. Grants the user 10% damage reduction for 10 minutes, and its effects can stack up to 9 times. Once the effect ends, it enters a 10-minute cooldown before it can be used again.

——————

"How many you have this potion?" Daniel asked with a neutral expression.

"Around twenty," the merchant replied.

Daniel bought all of them — each costing only five Xewels. But a new problem arose: he had no bag, nor any space left in his utility belt to carry the potions.

"Umm... do you sell any satchels or anything I could use to carry these potions?"

The merchant shook his head gently. "No, outsider."

Daniel thought of ways to carry his potions, like buying the cloth armor and using it as a makeshift bag. Meanwhile, the merchant glanced at him, his eyes sharp as he scanned him.

A man wearing leather armor spotted with small drops of blood, his veins bulging in his arms, held an axe covered in dried blood.

’This outsider looks strong... should I gamble it? Should I?’ the merchant thought.

"Excuse me, outsider. May I know where you’re headed?"

Daniel shifted his focus toward him. "I’m heading to defeat Kalhan."

"Defeat who? Wait... that name... how do you know about Kalhan?" the merchant asked, his tone curious.

"A ghost told me," Daniel said.

The merchant froze for a moment. "Is the ghost a woman?"

Daniel gave a small nod.

The merchant’s eyes widened for a moment. ’Is this the man the prophecy spoke of? The one who will bring an end to all this misery? Then I shall place my faith in him.’

"Here, take this," the merchant said, handing him a pouch.

"A pouch?"

"This is no ordinary pouch. Though it looks small, it can hold a vast number of items. Try it," the merchant said.

Daniel took the pouch and ran his fingers over its surface. It was rough to the touch and felt incredibly durable. One by one, all twenty-one potions slipped easily inside, as if the pouch swallowed them without effort.

He asked about the price, but the merchant refused to say, insisting that he take it as a gift. In the end, Daniel bought all the potions he had and stuffed them into the pouch.

In total: twenty resistance potions, twenty-four healing potions, and twenty-four mana potions. With that, he marched toward his destination.

The merchant watched Daniel fade into the forest, fingers crossed.

...

"There it is... finally found the gate," he whispered, holding the compass in his palm.

The area stretched out like a beach. To the left, the water glowed red; to the right, the forest loomed. In the center stood a gate framed by two crimson pillars. His gaze drifted slightly beyond the gate, taking in the distance.

’A merchant?’ he thought, spotting a tent in the distance.

Daniel approached and saw a merchant dressed in a brown robe.

"Hello. What items do you sell?"

For a brief moment, the merchant showed him the items he had already acquired from other traders. Finding nothing else of interest, Daniel bought five healing potions just in case.

"Outsider, if you’re going to fight Kalhan, then you’ll need this special necklace," the merchant said, a confident smile playing on his lips.

Daniel took the necklace in his hand, examining it closely and admiring the deep-red oval shaped stone that gleamed like a ruby.

"Only a fool would say no to this," the merchant added, "it literally increases your weapon damage by fifty percent."

Without hesitation, Daniel activated his skill.

"Far," he whispered.

——————

Name: Cursed Charm

Type: Wearable

Description: A cursed necklace forged from the heart of an outsider. Once worn, it reduces the wearer’s luck by 90%, and it cannot be removed from the neck.

——————

’What the fuck,’ Daniel murmured in his mind.

"But since you bought ten healing potions from me, I’m giving you this item for free," the merchant said.

"Status," Daniel whispered under his breath.

——————

Name: Jesper

HP: 1400/1400

Mana: 500/500

Status: Passive

Description: A servant of Kalhan who disguises himself as a traveling merchant and possesses abilities similar to a real merchant. He made an agreement with Kalhan to give cursed necklaces to outsiders in exchange for eternal life. So far, he has distributed ninety-eight necklaces, with the goal of reaching one hundred to fulfill his contract.

——————

Daniel’s face went cold, his eyes sharpening as he forced himself to stay calm. "Thanks, but I already have a similar necklace that increases my damage by sixty percent," he lied, handing the necklace back.

’What? Sixty percent? Damn it,’ jesper thought, gritting his teeth. ’If he entered without wearing this necklace, the contract will—’

"Oh really, but do you know if you wore two necklaces at the same time, your damage will increase upto one hundred and ten percent? You know sixty, fifty, one ten," the merchant said, his tone teasing.

*Slash*

"Aaaa!" Jesper screamed.

With a swing of his axe, Daniel chopped his forearm in a diagonal strike, sending blood gushing as Jesper tried to wrap his left arm to stop it from flowing.

"You really think someone like me would fall for your stupid trick? Let me tell you something."

*Slash*

Before Jesper could curse him with words, Daniel didn’t hesitate and slashed his throat in one brutal swing. The body trembled, blood spurted, and the head rolled back to rest beside the tent entrance.

"I don’t like liars," Daniel muttered, glancing at the lifeless body.

The table and tent began to dissolve into white particles. Without wasting another second, he moved toward the gate.

As he reached the entrance, a voice rang out from the empty gate.

"An outsider? Hahaha," a deep voice echoed from the gate.

"You must be Kalhan," Daniel said, his tone steady.

"Haha... you’re absolutely right. Care to tell me your business with me?"

Daniel gripped the handle of his axe tightly, his eyes fixed on the gate. "I need your sword to defeat the boss."

Laughter echoed from the gate, deep and unsettling. "Many have come. Many have died. I have already seen your death. Surrender yourself before the battle, and I swear to spare your pitiful life."

Daniel smirked. "Heh... only a true coward would say those words while hiding behind a gate."

A moment of silence settled over the area. The wind brushed against his skin as leaves drifted from the trees and fell to the ground. The air around him suddenly grew warm.

Slowly, a red mist began to materialize at the center of the gate, spreading until it filled the entire archway.

Daniel took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, then checked his mana—it was almost full. Before stepping in, he drank one resistance potion as a precaution.

’A blind man with a sword that I can’t get cut,’ he recalled Elimme’s words before stepping inside.

*BWOOSH*

Inside was a vast red ground, like solidified sand. At the far end sat a man on a throne, with countless skeletons before him forming a grim path.

At the center stood a sword, half buried in the ground. Even from afar, Daniel could feel the power radiating from it.

"I’ll give you one last chance. Become my slave, and I’ll turn you into a cute rabbit," Kalhan said, one hand resting against his cheek.

"Fuck you!" Daniel shouted.
