Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 243: Expedition Into The Unknown (1)
"More like a Genovian Native than a Native of Terra…that's oddly unsettling." Aoni mused while subconsciously reaching out with both hands to pet his summons for comfort.
"Be that as it may, that's the goal of all Travelers, to grow and become something more. You'll learn more about this once you reach a higher level of power, but in a sense, our bodies aren't really meant to exist here."
"Haven't you ever found it strange that only Travelers can use Flumes?"
"Would you believe me if I said no?" Scratching his cheek and refusing to make eye contact with his brother, Aoni had to admit something like that wasn't really on his list of thoughts.
"Shoulda saw that one coming, anyway; it's because there's a fundamental difference in the structure of Terran Bodies and Genovian Humans, one that, if my hypothesis is correct, seems to have been fixed in your case."
"Don't worry though; this is a good thing because it could be considered one of the main checkpoints a Traveler needs to achieve before they are able to break through into higher Grades or Ranks."
Looking at his brother with a mixture of excitement and pride, Anthony couldn't stop himself from imagining a future where the Thurston family wouldn't have to be constantly on guard or looking over their shoulder whenever in public.
"Can you stop looking at me like Glacia does lunch…its fucking creepy, Ant, like Clara levels of creepy."
"YOU LITTLE BRAT, DO YOU THINK I WON'T SMASH YOUR SKULL INTO SOUP! HOW DARE YOU COMPARE ME TO THAT BROCON?"
"GAO?"
"No, no, not that kind of soup, sweet little Glacia, a bad kind, not tasty gross." Ant quickly corrected after seeing the floof perk up.
"Gaoooo," of course, hearing it wasn't food, Glacia lost all interest and went back to chewing on a hard rubber toy.
"ppfftt…haha, glad to know she's still your reverse scale Ant, and here I was thinking that after you went off to college, you'd gotten all mature and shit, but NOPE, same ol Anthony scared shitless of Clara like the rest of us.." Covering his mouth and fighting back laughter, Aoni teased only causing his older brother to get even more angry.
"HUFF, teasing aside, I only have a limited amount of time here, Aoni, so while I'd like to spend it all training you, we have bigger issues to deal with. How about you show me around your Cavern before we head up to scope out your territory."
"Uh, that's fine, Glacia; you can go take your nap now. I know you wanna spend time with my brother, but I can tell you are about to pass out; just look at your toy; it's barely got any dents in it from chewing." Gripping the rubber bone with two fingers, Aoni snatched it away from the floof, who suddenly was too tired to fight back.
"Gaooo, GAWWNN…"

Giving a big yawn, Glacia didn't bother fetching her toy. Instead, she lightly headbutted Aoni as a form of hugging before hopping off the couch and doing the same to Nyria and even Anthony, then disappearing upstairs for after-breakfast naptime.
"That little girl has quite the personality, haha," Anthony said while turning back to look at Nyria and Aoni.
"Hahhh, at least she stays outta trouble when she's napping; at first, I was kind of concerned how she always gets lethargic after meals, but over time I've come to realize it's part of her growth phase. Anyway, let's go; I'll show you all the hard work we did over the past month here." Standing up, Aoni leaned to the side slightly and allowed Nyria to catch a ride on his shoulder before leading the way out of the sitting room and toward the front door.
---
Although he had gotten glimpses of the Cavern through the windows of the Manor, the moment Anthony stepped outside, he was floored by what he saw.
To be totally honest, his expectations were fairly low; after all, Aoni simply hadn't been a traveler or even Lord long enough to establish anything that could even resemble a village or town, yet what greeted him out that front door blew any expectations he had to smithereens.
"Woah…" Ant said as Nyria took off from Aoni's shoulder and soared into the sky.
"Yeah, it's quite a view," responding with evident pride in his voice; Aoni walked up beside his brother and looked out over the lake and beyond.
"The Ice Energia here is off the charts, no wonder everything you brought back is saturated. I figured that would be the case, but transitioning from the cut-off space inside the Manor to out here, it's like night and day." Holding up his right hand, Anthony attempted to manifest a small spark in his palm, only for it to fizzle out a moment later.
"That's a bit problematic…" he mused before trying again three more times until he was able to manifest a sustained fireball that hovered above his palm.
"It takes about 2.5 times my normal Energia Cost to manifest a simple fireball."
"Well, it's probably going to be even worse outside, so I won't be able to use chantless magic efficiently; luckily, spell models and circles don't have that kind of flaw." Shaking his hand and allowing the fireball to dissipate, Anthony allowed Aoni to show him all around the Cavern, starting off with the Lower Ring.
Farms, the beach, watering locations, it was all quite grand and far beyond what any Newbie Traveler should ever dream of accomplishing but there was more to it than that.
Climbing the stairs and entering the upper ring, Anthony was once again floored by the ingenuity and planning shown by his kid brother because it all made sense, from the placement of the homes to the way they fit into specific positions that correlated with the sidewalks, even the gardens served a valuable purpose.
Separating things into districts but keeping things standardized would eliminate any kind of caste system from forming; basically, all the resources were equidistant from each other.
It was all so…balanced and well thought out that even Anthony was forced to acknowledge his brother's intelligence for once.
By the time they reached the Teleportation Array, Anthony had to admit, Aoni had made one hell of a starting village, one that, if it weren't for being in a constrained space that limited growth beyond a certain point, would no doubt serve as a proper capital city.
