Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 111: Her First Mission
Seeing as there were still around 11 hours until Glacia would awaken, Aoni felt now was the perfect time to try something out he had wanted to do since the moment he summoned an Avian creature.
"Hey, Nyria, I have a question." Leaning against her nest and allowing Nyria to rest her chin on his shoulder while he worked on the blueprint for the cave, Aoni eventually looked over at her and asked.
"Cheee?"
’What is it, brother?’ Nyria replied curiously, clicking her beak and nuzzling her lord’s cheek.
"So I know I haven’t gone into much detail as per the situation of my territory, but I wanted to ask if you could fly around and scope the surroundings out." The moment the words left his lips, Aoni felt his fledgling stiffen at the thought of leaving the cave.
"Woah there, no need to panic; I’m not kicking you out or forcing you to do anything dangerous. Okay, look here." Flipping pages in the notebook, Aoni began drafting a rough sketch of the mountain as he explained the situation and his idea.
"I’m sure you’ve noticed that we are pretty much isolated up here, meaning it’s just us, but given how I’m not exactly adapted to the environment and not privileged enough to have powerful and pretty wings like yours, I can’t simply explore." As he spoke, the Lad darkened the outline of the mountain before lightly sketching a giant bubble around the top.
Meanwhile, hearing that he thought her wings were pretty, Nyria grew bashful and shifted in place, something Aoni found adorable.
"Since I am considered as a new lord, I have a grace period of 30 days, where nothing except myself and my summons can be in the territory; that means the strongest creatures out there are Gradeless, like the Rabbits and small creatures I cook for food. So long as you stay within the bubble, it’s totally safe, and you would be the absolute strongest out there."
"Chee?"
’Bubble?’ Tilting her head to the side and listening intently to his explanation, Nyria asked, spurring Aoni into elaborating since it was new information for his summon.
"Yeah, so when I landed here from where I came from, a barrier was spread out, blocking off a little over a mile in every direction, up down side to side, well anything that DID live here before us was instantly pushed out, however, given my lack of ability to venture too far from the cave, I haven’t been able to explore much." Finishing his sketch and holding it up in Nyria’s line of sight, Aoni continued.
"I’ve sent your Big Sister out a few times, but you know how she is, not the most observant and more worried about having fun; that’s why I need someone who is not only smart but also has super good eyesight and can move around unhindered by the terrain. Making you the perfect one to do this mission."
"Plus, since you can see everything with your Special Ability, Dynamic Vision, I bet you can find a bunch of cool trinkets and decorations for your new nest, too!" Hyping up his exploration mission, Aoni didn’t want to push too hard and make Nyria feel uncomfortable; however, the moment he mentioned finding things to decorate her nest with, Nyria was totally sold on the idea.
"Chhhhheee,"
’Leave it to me, Big Brother,’ withdrawing her head from Aoni’s shoulder, Nyria patted her chest with a wing and boasted.
Was she scared? 100%.
Luckily, her trust in the Lad and the reasonable explanation he had given were barely enough for her to consider going out on her first mission. What sealed the deal was being given the okay-to-find trinkets.
"I only have two rules you gotta follow; the first, please don’t bring back any living creatures; the last thing we need right now is a mouse or something running around the house,"
"PPFT!" exhaling through her nostrils with enough force to move the Lad’s hair, Nyria seemed to make a sound similar to the chuffing noise Glacia makes, which Aoni took as a bit of laughter.

’No live creatures,’ nodding her head once, the obedient and smart Nyria waited for the second condition.
"And the second rule is just as easy: do not leave the bubble; I’m sure if you focus hard enough, you can see it clearly, but as my summon and a being connected to me through the LoS, you will automatically understand when you’ve gotten too close to it." Reaching up and petting her, Aoni’s tone got slightly serious as he explained something vitally important.
"In the event that you DO accidentally cross the barrier, don’t panic, and return as quickly as possible to it since nothing but us can pass through; if you run into trouble, they will be stuck outside."

’I understand brother, I won’t cross the bubble,’
"That’s a good girl; my Little Nyria is so obedient and smart," scratching under her beak again, Aoni spent some more time coddling Nyria before allowing her to venture out.
Once cuddle time was complete, Nyria hopped out of her nest and, with Aoni following, waddled toward the entrance of the cave.
"Oh, and if you find anything strange or interesting, let me know through our connection. I don’t know how far you can go while staying within range of mental communication, but try checking in if you can."
With that said, Nyria turned and observed Aoni one last time before saying…
’I will be back soon, Big Brother,’ then, with a hop and powerful flap, Nyria took to the sky, unfolding her massive wings and drawing a soft gasp from the Lad as he found her image stunning to witness.
As he had predicted, the blue feathers turned her practically invisible in the sky, but the moment she banked and looked down at him, her white top feathers were exposed, creating a graceful sight.
"Stay safe, Nyria," cupping his hands to his mouth, Aoni shouted since he still didn’t fully understand how to reply to her through the LoS.
Without having much time to practice, utilizing the vital connection between them was a task proven fruitless, so until he got the opportunity to sit down and figure it out, the mental transmissions would end up being a One-Way-Radio, wherein he could hear Nyria, but she couldn’t hear his response.
