Legendary Oops System-Chapter 30: Meeting With Rukun Malevolent
Seeing his food paused, White unconsciously stuck out his tongue to scoop a bit, but even that failed him, as the finger on the spoon yanked it back.
CLANK!
The sound of his teeth clanking together and ending up biting the air echoed, and an exasperated expression appeared on White’s face.
He couldn’t even get himself a good supper anymore. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
He raised his head, watching as someone came to sit just opposite him.
"Oh. It’s you."
White called out in surprise, looking at the young man who grinned evilly.
A staff member approached from the side, placing a dish tray before him, and he took his spoon, taking a scoop of it.
White watched as his throat wriggled from the force before coming to a stop, and he exhaled in satisfaction, opening his eyes to look at White.
"So you gonna pass me my spoon now?"
White asked, and his grin widened even more before he shifted the spoon to White.
"You know, back where I came from, the strong must eat first. Only when they’re done will the rest eat from the same table."
"Seems awfully the same as a pack of hyenas."
White claimed, and he chuckled evilly.
The boy had long crimson hair falling down over his purple coat, his pitch blood-like eyes looking at White in interest.
Of course, it was none other than that Malevolent Boy he had met during the entrance test.
"You don’t seem much surprised to see me?" Rukun asked, watching as White quietly ate.
"Well, I’d be stupid to think a predator will really not try to seek revenge for having his ’prey’ stolen from him."
White claimed.
"So you think I’m a predator?"
He asked.
"You don’t seem much different from one, the last time I saw you. Though, I have to say, you look surprisingly good in that purple coat."
He complimented, and it was the truth.
The last time he had met this boy, he was bare-chested, a wild aura surrounding him while covered in crimson red blades and blood.
But now, with his hair well combed, falling like a waterfall around him, with the clearly buttoned coat he wore,
He actually looked like a distinguished gentleman.
The compliment made Rukun pause before he grinned.
"Exactly 7 souls have told me that today, and only yours seemed to be a bit genuine."
"I hope those 6 are still alive?"
White asked, and Rukun shrugged.
"Oh, don’t mind it. The rules are annoying, but I have to admit they did what they’re supposed to do. Constrain the strong and temporarily protect the weak."
"Would be too much of a hassle facing the rules after killing all 6 of them. Prefer to leave them a little warning instead."
"But 6 isn’t enough for me. My bloodlust hasn’t calmed yet."
He claimed, and White grinned.
"So then you came looking for me?"
"Actually, wrong."
He said, and White raised an eyebrow.
"I came for you because you destroyed my little but slowly booming business with your little hero act yesterday night."
He claimed, and White’s memory drifted back to his skirmish.
"So you’ve gotten into a business of bullying away points from students?"
White asked, amused.
"I’m guessing your little heroic heart will have a problem with that."
"I actually don’t."
White said.
"Oh really? Why stop my boys then?"
"Needed someone to test a new ability on, and they just happened to be the perfect target. So I used them."
"Without my permission."
He said, and White replied fluidly.
"Never knew they were yours. Though, even if I knew, I still wouldn’t have asked."
"Now that!"
Rukun said, pointing to him.
"That right there is the spirit I like. The wild warrior spirit. For a second I was afraid if you’ve turned into one of these bootlicking idiots."
He said, shoving his hands around at the boys around them.
Funny enough, none of them tried to challenge him. They all just quietly kept eating.
"I asked you a question the last time."
White said, and Rukun’s eyes gleamed.
"Where are my manners?"
"Rukun Malevolent."
He said, stretching out his hands for a handshake.
"White Sinclaw."
White said, stretching out his hands to receive the handshake.
He could feel the gaze of everyone following him, some pausing their breaths.
As their palms came close together, Rukun’s fingers shifted into glowing red blades as he tried to grab onto White’s hand, only to fail, as his hands slowed down massively.
Though he managed to push on, until both hands were just a few inches away from touching each other, creating the image of a handshake, yet never fully one.
White naturally took his hands back right after, and Rukun smiled, his blade claws retreating.
"They did tell me of some invisible barrier. The Limitless Interval, isn’t it?"
Rukun asked, and White paused in quiet shock.
"How did he know the name?"
"Oh, don’t be surprised. It’s a common annoying skill of the Limitless Clan. Everyone knows it."
He claimed with an unimpressed shrug.
"Surprised you learned it so fast. Your little girlfriend doesn’t seem to have learned of it though."
Rukun claimed, saddened, though his grin never wavered.
"Perhaps she would have been able to prevent both her limbs being severed off by my blades if she had."
"Hope it wasn’t too serious. Wouldn’t be good if you get thrown out of the academy for murder on the first day."
White asked, unruffled.
"Oh, it’s fine. Just the right leg from the knee down, and the left hand from the shoulder. I left her alive on the street. I’m sure a couple girls around her must have been nice enough to take her to the hospital."
"Perhaps she even attended this morning’s class. Who can say for sure?"
"She’s a strong girl, isn’t she?"
Rukun asked, deeply observing every inch of White’s face, but shock still hit him when he found it not having changed a bit.
It was still the same amused gaze as he had since the conversation began.
"I can’t deny that. She truly is strong. Maybe not as strong as you right now, but her will is definitely admirable. With time, I’m sure she’ll catch up."
At this time, they had finished their dish, and all of a sudden—
...
