"Senior?!" Elias called out, feigning concern, though he was already certain that she was dead.

He reached back and started searching. Soon, his hand brushed against the lifeless corpse. He carefully felt for the spatial ring on her finger and slipped it off, pocketing it. There was no time to examine its contents now.

He turned his attention back to the direction the arrow had come from, and noticed another speck of bright light. The numbers kept multiplying until there were hundreds of such light specks, shining like stars in the darkness.

"Is it really an inheritance ground, or an execution ground?" Astralious mumbled to himself, watching the hundreds of light sources getting bigger as they flew to them, leaving only a whistle of wind behind.

Elias grabbed the girl's body by the collar, and raised her before him. His physique was already smaller than the girl, which made his figure completely hide behind her.

"Are you seriously using her as a shield?" Astralious raised a brow. "Shouldn't you respect the dead?"

"I would've asked for her permission, but she seems a little too dead already," Elias answered in a carefree manner and kept walking forward.

The light arrows that were aimed for him, kept striking the girl, and disappeared within her body. The other arrows missed them, and flew past only to disappear in the darkness.

Similarly attacks came a few more times, but not a single arrow managed to reach Elias. The attacks only stopped when he reached the end of the dark passage, and stepped into the light once more.

He waited for a few more seconds to see if there were any more attacks. After confirming the place to be safe, he moved the corpse aside.

He didn't outright throw it away, and made it sit with the support of the wall. Now that he was in the light, he could finally see just how badly the arrows had destroyed the corpse.

She was beyond recognition, and her previous charm was nowhere to be seen.

"Thank you," he told the girl, even when she wasn't alive to hear it.

"Fate works in mysterious ways. She sent you ahead because she wanted to use you as a shield. But she ended up being used as a shield instead. Isn't it ironic?"

"Just a few minutes ago, you were telling me to respect the dead. And now you are making a mockery of her. Isn't that just as ironic?"

"I..."

"You don't need to explain. I wasn't blaming you. After all, this entire universe is filled with irony. The faster we learn it, the longer we might be able to live in this world."

Elias took off his robe, and placed it over the corpse, like a blanket to accompany her in the afterlife, as the last offering from him.

He was faced with five wooden doors, each being twenty feet tall and brimming with the essence of space.

Each door had a different sign carved on it, but for him, all of it was meaningful. He didn't know what was the intent of the person who left these marks on these doors.

He didn't even try to apply his common sense to the thoughts and actions of the owner of the Phoenix Flames. He selected a door at random, and opened it.

The moment he opened a door, he was pulled inside by an unknown force, and the door closed behind him.

"What is this place?" Elias was surprised at the sight before him.

It was a small room, unlike all other grandiose halls that he had done across. It was a square room, only three meters wide.

In the center of the room, there was a comfortable chair that was covered with an unknown beast's hide. The chair was facing a mirror, which was the only other thing in this place.

The last time Elias had come across a mirror, he met Astralious and almost ended up trapping himself forever. This time, he was even more cautious to not make the same mistake.

Instead of taking a step towards the mirror, he stepped back. He kept stepping back, until he was met with a wall and no space to move back.

"Do you really have to be so scared?" Astralious let out a soft laugh. "It's a mere mirror."

"Once burnt, twice shy. It's a very famous saying from where I come from." Elias used Analysis to check the mirror, and confirm if it was dangerous for him.

..........

Material Name: Mirror of Observation

Grade: A

Description: A mirror that has become an inherent part of the tomb. It can be used to observe every part of the tomb, and also as a portal to enter that place.

..........

"So this place is like a monitoring room?" It felt surreal, but he didn't doubt the description since it was a class skill that had never failed him.

There was only one thing that he didn't understand. Why was he alone in this room? There was no sign of anyone else entering this place at all.

"Did no one select that door? Is it just luck?" He walked around the chair and sat before the mirror. The instructions to control the mirror started appearing in his head.

"Is this it?" With the instructions, the realization started setting in. The destinations behind the doors weren't fixed.

Even if two people had selected the same door, it didn't mean they would've been brought to the same place.

As for why he ended up in this place, he learned it through the instructions.

He placed the pocket watch on the armrest, a reward that he had received along with the bonus points. It was the same reward that brought him to this place.

After he placed the watch on the armrest, it fixed into place and the mirror started showing a scene.

"That's the core of the Ice Phoenix Flames!" Astralious excitedly yelled before Elias could even have the time to observe the scene carefully. "The others already reached that place?"
