Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 160: Slight of Hand
The girl crossed her arms confidently. She was simply facing a child that had yet to see the true cruelty of the world. For her, the task couldn't be any easier.
"Shall we begin?" she asked.
"You can go ahead." Elias nodded. If there was any person here who was more carefree than the girl, then it was Elias.
"I will start with something simple." The girl smiled and continued, "My name is Gracia."
She confidently said, as if it was a name that she had already spoken a thousand times before. From her tone, it didn't look like she was lying.
"Oh wait, I already said my name outside! Fck, I want to change the statement!" It took her a moment for the realization to set in, and she started panicking.
She had already introduced herself as Gracia before they were even brought to this space, and it was also a name that the others were calling her with.
Unfortunately, she wasn't given any choice to change the statement. The words of her statement materialized before Elias.
"I am dead! How could I make such a basic mistake!" the girl grabbed her head, and started panicking, an expression that she hadn't shown before.
"It's a lie," Elias said, shocking the girl.
Her expressions darkened when she raised her head, all the previous panic and friendlies nowhere to be seen anymore.
The golden words in the statement turned red, and started disintegration. One of the three arms facing the girl shattered into pieces, leaving only two arms.
"How did you know?!" she asked with clenched teeth. She had placed the entire trap, and even used a fake name in front of Elias, placing the pieces in preparation of having good luck and coming across Elias in this test.
There was no reason for Elias to think that she had lied. Not only was the setup elaborate, but even her acting was also on point and she made every attempt to sell her panic.
She still couldn't understand how Elias knew that this wasn't her name.
"My turn," Elias didn't answer her question. He took his eyes off the Analysis Screen of the girl, and focused back on her.
The test might be a game of luck for others, but he was able to cheat. There was no ban on class skills in the test, as long as it didn't harm the other person.
For her to ask the most basic thing about herself had already made Elias have the easiest time ever.
"I truly underestimated you. Fine. Go ahead. Even if you take the lead, I will be winning in the end." The girl took a deep breath and calmed herself, as she still had a chance to win.
"I lied to you about being from an ordinary family. In reality, I am a descendant of the Ashborn Family," Elias told the girl.
"I am a descendant of the Ashborn Family." The words materialized before the girl, who frowned at the absurdity of the statement.
Why would the Academy send a descendant of the Ashborn Family into this place to die? There was no way this was the truth. At the same time, there was some suspicion in the back of her mind.
Was the boy really this foolish to tell such an absurd lie? Or was this the reality that he wanted her to find absurd?
She glanced at a bloody rose in her hand, and thought of something. Could this absurd thought really be true? The absurdity of this statement was what made her have second thoughts about it.
After all, Elias did share some characteristics with the descendants of the Asbborn Family that she had heard about.
"It is true." She decided to take the risk on it, no matter how absurd this statement was. After all, she had some certainty that no matter the answer, she was going to win this time.
Once she gave her answer, Elias revealed a smile and summoned the Identification Badge of the Esterin Family that he had taken from the corpse of Rey Esterin.
"You lost," he said, before the words in the air even had a reaction.
"Did I?" The girl was taken aback at the sight of Esterin Family's identification badge. As absurd as the statement of him being a part of the Ashborn Family, the Esterin Family was just as absurd.
She had truly lost this round, but she already prepared something for it when she bid for such an absurd statement.
"Why don't you check again?" she tossed the bloody rose at the words in the air, as they were starting to reveal the answer.
Once the bloody rose touched the words, everything stopped. Time seemed to have gone back by a few seconds, before she even gave the answer.
Elias also felt the strange sensation of being brought back in time by a few seconds with the memories of the future still fresh in his mind.
With the time reversal of Bloody Rose, the time was brought back to before she had given her answer.

Although it exhausted the use of the bloody rose and made it disappear forever, it had given her an opportunity to win now that she already knew the right answer.
"The statement is false! You are not a descendant of the Ashborn Family!" The girl smugly answered, having seen the sight answer already. "Even if you are from the Esterin Family, you are still a child!"
For the next few seconds, she laughed heartily at the ease with which she had managed to fool Elias.
Elias, meanwhile, maintained his silence and waited for the words to change and reveal the answer for both of them to see.
"Huh?" The laughter of the girl abruptly halted as the words started changing and revealed the answer. The golden words changed to green, verifying the authenticity of the statement.
"How is that possible? There is something wrong with this test! It's impossible!" The girl truly started panicking this time, as she watched another arm of the statue facing her, crumble into nothingness.
She glared at Elias, almost jumping at him to attack him, only to stop herself midway.
Elias brought an identification badge from his storage and waved it before the girl, whose expressions went blank. This time, it was the identification badge of a direct descendant of the Ashborn Family.
"How...?" she mumbled in disbelief.
