Elias saw the horde of powerful fables rushing towards him, many in their beastly forms. But instead of fear, he felt a rush course through his veins. This was exactly what he wanted. It was as if a buffet of souls was placed right before him, which could fuel his growth.

He calmly adjusted his scope and lined up the first target before he pulled the trigger.

The enhanced bullet, filled with the fragment of the essence of a mid-tier fable and a trail of lightning, ripped through the air. It found its mark, piercing the skull of a creature that resembled a giant, armored wolf.

The beast, caught completely off guard, fell to the ground, its life fading before its eyes. Elias didn’t pause to admire his handiwork, but instead moved the aim only slightly before pulling the trigger once more.

Another fable in its grotesque beastly was charging forward, letting out a war cry. Amidst the roar, the bullet passed through the beast’s mouth, leaving a fist-sized hole as it traveled to strike another beast in the back.

Elias saw another fable and centered his aim on the middle of its forehead. Another pull of the trigger, and another fable was destroyed. The fable stumbled as its roar was cut short before it collapsed.

Even though everything was happening so fast, Elias felt as if he had all the time in the world as he moved from one target to another, his reaction speed getting better with each passing second.

Even he didn’t know if the feeling of getting faster with each passing second was just his misconception, or if it was really happening.

The only person that seemed to be certain about this phenomenon was Astralious, who was observing every movement and every thought of the young boy.

He could feel that Elias was actually getting faster as he killed more fables, which should’ve been quite impossible in general. A fable could become stronger by devouring other fables, but that was unheard of amongst the humans.

Moreover, Elias wasn’t even devouring the fables at the moment, but simply killing them. So it felt even more strange in his eyes. Humans could become stronger by killing others? From what he remembered, that didn’t seem to be the case in the past.

A person could only become stronger through evolution, and not by killing others, unless killing others was the path that led to their evolution. Even then, strength came through evolution.

’Did the outside world really change that much since I’ve been dead? Or it is something about this boy...’ Astralious thought, watching the middle tier fables falling on the ground, one after another.

"Before the fables could even come within fifty meters of Elias, they were killed.

"He seems to be killing the ones that could attack from a distance first. What a clever boy. It’s as if he can see everything about these fables." One of the Domain Lords couldn’t stop himself from complimenting the boy.

If it had happened once or twice, it could have been a coincidence, but they had seen it happen many times already. Only those fables that had the ability to attack at long range were prioritised the moment they stepped out of the domain itself.

As for the rest, they were killed before they could get too close to Elias.

"Within minutes, the space before the Shadow Domain was littered with the corpses of Soul Beasts, many of whom had even served as generals under Zesten. It was as if he hadn’t sent these soldiers to kill Elias, but rather to become vegetables on the chopping block for him.

Every time Zesten heard the sound of a gunshot, he felt as if his soul itself was being torn apart by the constant mockery of that man.

The painful sounds only stopped when the last mid-tier Soul Beast fell to the ground, creating a gruesome painting of death if one were to look down from the sky.

"Is that all?" Elias asked, as he kept searching for the next target, only to fail. There was no one left standing outside the domain.

He had been so immersed in analyzing and shooting the Soul Beasts that the world itself had started fading from his view. He was only now starting to wake up from that daze-like state.

"How many did I kill?" he asked Astralious, not even realizing how many Soul Beasts he had killed in total.

"Three hundred and seven," Astralious answered subconsciously.

Even though he was amazed by the scenes he had witnessed, he had still been subconsciously counting the Soul Beasts that were killed by Elias, a number that he didn’t believe would ever be surpassed unless there was another monster in the future.

"That’s it?" Elias still didn’t seem satisfied with the number. "Should I try provoking him more?"

"Do you think fables grow on trees?" Astralious scoffed, unable to believe that this was too little for this boy. "I think if he had more that were strong enough, he would’ve already sent them out to kill you."

"Just look at his face. If he could step out of that place, I don’t even want to imagine what would happen to you."

"If he could step out of here, do you think I would be doing this in the first place?" Elias stood up, still holding on to the sniper.

He did think about provoking other Domain Lords in the same way, but he was sure that after seeing what happened just now, they weren’t going to fall for this trick anymore.

"Let’s collect the harvest." He kept the sniper back, and started walking towards the mountain of fable corpses that were littered across the field.

Meanwhile, the ego was still in the back, lost in its own thoughts as he was trying to remember something. He was sure that he had come to this place in the past with his previous master. But why? That’s what he couldn’t remember.

He had a really bad feeling about this, as if he was missing something really important. But he just couldn’t remember anything about that trip.
