Legacy of The Arcane Lust Mage-Chapter 30: Be Ready For Me
Lukas stopped thinking about Raymond’s matter. Although Amara said she wasn’t sure of her conjecture, he knew this was most likely the case, so there was no need to think about it any longer.
The slight crease of his brows smoothened out and after a moment’s silence, he began, "When I said I had undergone the second awakening today and had managed to reach Low 1-Star in just half an hour, I wasn’t lying."
The look in Amara’s eyes changed at his words.
"From this, you can see my potential. It wouldn’t take me much time to become stronger than Raymond and take control of this family." continued Lukas before shaking his head,
"But let’s not talk about the future. After I reveal my potential, given his nature, Raymond is most likely to drop his plans to kill me and if he isn’t too greedy, he should treasure me to boost his standing in the Rivervale family."
"If the latter happens, I’ll go to Green Stone City and would take you along, effectively saving you from him."
Amara mulled it over before asking, "Why would he allow me to go with you?"
"Because if he does not, I’ll tell him that if he does not let you come with me, the Rivervale family will find out he wants to forcefully possess you." said Lukas calmly before continuing,
"Perhaps you are not aware, but there is a rule that unless at least one of the parties involved is a 5-Star Mage, inbreeding isn’t allowed. Anyone who is found breaking this rule will be killed by the Warriors of Saintess Temple. This is why even the Royal Families that used to practice inbreeding in ancient times no longer do it."
Lukas wasn’t bullshitting at this moment but was telling the truth. Since original Lukas couldn’t do much to pass his time in his room, he had started reading all kinds of books except those that had something to do with mages.
Therefore, he possessed knowledge about many things that ordinary people and even many mages might not be aware of.
Amara’s eyes lit up and her breathing rate even increased when she heard him. She could finally see a ray of hope.
Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath to control her emotions before looking at him and saying, "All of this depends on too many uncertainties. What if he lets his greed overcome him and captures you to find out the secret of second awakening?
Let’s assume he doesn’t, do you really think a petty man like him wouldn’t do anything if you threaten him like that?"
"Well, we will know when the time comes," said Lukas casually, not inclined to say anything more as nothing he said now would be substantial.
"You are right, we’ll know when the time comes, however, are you sure you want to take such a big risk for me?" asked Amara.
Lukas silently nodded.
"Why?" Amara asked, her voice even. She knew there definitely was a reason, maybe he needed something from her.
Lukas looked her in the eyes and calmly said, "Because I want you. Once you are mine, you’ll be my responsibility. At that time I naturally have to make sure you are safe and happy."
Amara didn’t reveal any shock, surprise or disgust when she heard him, only the look in her eyes changed to become colder and contemplative.
"You have two days, consider it carefully." Saying this, Lukas stood up to leave but before turning around, he added, "Even if you refuse, you don’t have to worry about me finding trouble with you."
Just as he was about to leave, he heard Amara ask, "Didn’t you just say that the Saintess Temple doesn’t allow inbreeding unless you are a 5-Star Mage?"
Lukas understood what she was asking and said, "Yeah. Inbreeding isn’t allowed, but people can still have physical relations."
Amara’s pupils contracted when she heard this and clenched her fists. She knew Raymond most likely was aware of this...
Ha!
Exhaling audibly, she said, "If you can raise your cultivation and reach Mid 1-Star by this time day after tomorrow, I will... become your woman. If you can’t, then let’s forget we ever had this conversation ever."
Saying this, she watched Lukas carefully, wanting to see if he would show the lack of confidence, but to her surprise, he did not and just nodded calmly, "Sure. Be ready for me."
Amara watched him leave the hall, his posture upright but at ease.
’At least he isn’t forcing me and is way more handsome than that bastard.’ The thought crossed her mind and startled her.
...
After returning to his villa, instead of heading to the bedroom to sleep, Lukas came to the courtyard and sat cross-legged at the center.
Although the rune wasn’t completely charged like the first time, it was still at 70%.
’This activation will last a little less than half an hour. Hm, I should be able to fill up another four nodes excluding the sixth one.’
Without wasting time, he closed his eyes and meditated for a while. When he felt his mind was focused enough, he activated the rune.
Shua! Shua!
Immediately, mana started rushing toward him.
...
"Hm? What’s going on? How come mana is again converging over Viscount Mansion?"
"Is someone else breaking through to 3-Star now?"
"Heh, do you really think so?"
The disturbance once again alerted many people throughout the city, but unlike the last time, it didn’t induce any panic in them and instead made them sigh in relief because they realized this mana convergence and maybe the earlier one too weren’t the result of someone breaking through.
...
Swoosh!
Exactly twenty-eight minutes after Lukas activated the rune, it deactivated and mana stopped converging toward him.
Sigh!
Lukas let out a sigh, feeling the time had passed too quickly but seeing he now had ten completely filled mana nodes, his mood improved.
’Now, I only need to fill another 26 over the next two days. After that, with Amara’s help, I can rapidly increase my cultivation.’ thought Lukas, a light smile gracing his lips.
Seeing his cultivation increase so rapidly, he felt he had no need to worry about anything and it gave him a sense of control over his life which he liked very much.
Right then, he heard someone banging on his villa’s main door.
Clang! Clang!
"Open the door, Lukas!"
’How careless of me!’ Letting out a helpless sigh, he stood up.
