Leanna-Chapter 216: [Epilogue 1]
[Zoe’s POV]
[Epilogue 1]
It felt like time passed so fast when you were enjoying yourself, and that was precisely what I was feeling right now.
It was a month since Lawrence and I got together, and I tell you, it wasn’t exactly easy with all the media and news all over us. Luckily, grandpa Luke, Elliot, and with the help of Leanna, specifically her husband Cain Fay, the media never dared to bother us except for those who didn’t care about their well-being.
Lawrence and I decided to stay in New Haven, and wait for him to finish his degree before traveling the world together. We bought an empty lot near Zephyr academy and had our motorhome parked there. We moved in together, and life was never the same again.
Every day was a gift.
It was like living in heaven with him by my side.
"What?"
Lawrence smiled before flicking a popcorn into his mouth.
I shifted my eyes to his ankle, starring at the glass beads with his names drawn in each bead tied around his ankle. It was the gift I gave him on his thirteenth birthday. The one I thought he lost.
It turned out it was always on his ankle. No wonder he didn’t wear shorts whenever I was around. I was too focus in the pleasures the second time we made love that I didn’t notice his ankle, not after the next morning, that is.
I smiled and shook my head. I cuddled in his broad chest and set my eyes on the TV screen.
It was already ten in the evening, and we were still awake watching a movie in our small yet cozy living area inside our motorhome.
Bzt!
He tensed when he looked at his phone.
"Who is it?" I asked, sitting straight on the sofa and stared at him.
Lawrence frowned, yet his eyes remained absorbed on his phone.
"It’s Maxine."
My mood plummeted.
That girl sure is persistent!
"What does she want this time?"
I didn’t hide the contempt and annoyance in my voice, and Lawrence forced a smile.
"Sorry. She’s asking if we could meet tomorrow one last time."
"Of course, you said no, right?"
My eyebrow rose when he looked at me with a guilt-stricken face.
I sighed and stomped my way to our room.
"Babe . . ."
Lawrence sighed and circled his arms around my waist. His strong chest was pressing against my back.
"I have to end things with her once and for all. I started this, so I have to finish it . . . It was my fault, after all. I have to take responsibility," he murmured between kissing and inhaling my hair.
I bit my inner cheek and frowned.
I couldn’t exactly blame him since I was no saint.
But this girl was infuriating me to no end. She still wouldn’t let go of Lawrence. Well, I mean, it was also Lawrence’s fault for using her, leading her on and broke up with her. But I’d already given leeway and let him meet her so many times to finally end things with her. But that girl was more than persistent and annoying she wouldn’t give up, taking advantage of Lawrence’s kindness.
She was irrational. She wanted to meet up with Lawrence, again and again, saying she wanted to see him one last time. And the most infuriating was, I couldn’t do anything about it since Lawrence was at fault, and of course, I was too, so I swallowed my anger and discontentment.
Lawrence also changed his number so many times, but somehow, this girl always found ways to communicate with him.
"Sweetheart, she said it’s going to be the final time . . . I have to go," he coaxed in a soft, soothing voice as he pressed me against him.
With his sweet voice and gentle kisses and caresses, no one could resist his charms.
I rolled my eyes while I giggled a bit. I faced him and circled my arms around his neck, pressing my abdomen against his twitching bulge.
"Alright, but let me come with you."
Lawrence kissed my nose before he said in a cooing voice, "Cupcake, my sister will be here tomorrow to see you, remember?"
I retracted my eyes and frowned.
That’s right!
I can’t believe I forgot!
Now that we were together, Lawrence became my top priority, and all other things became secondary.
Leanna will come tomorrow to personally bid me farewell before her one-year honeymoon tour with her husband –– again.
Gezz! How many honeymoons do they want to spend before they’re satisfied?!
. . .
. . .
I swear I’m not jealous.
. . .
. . .
Alright, maybe a little.
Just a little bit . . .
I sighed and pressed my head into the comfort of his chest.
"Come back early, alright? And if you notice anything strange with her, I won’t fault you if you raise a hand against her or if you report her to the police."
He chuckled while I puffed my cheeks.
"I’m serious! Don’t drink nor eat anything she gives you, alright?!"
I batted an eyelid at him and softly hit his chest when he knowingly grinned at me.
"Alright, alright. I’ll remember it." Lawrence laughed before he blew hot air on my ear, which caused me to shiver and moan.
"Why don’t we forget about her and do something ’fun’ instead," he whispered between nibbling my ear.
I giggled and bit his chin before I ran to our bedroom while clothes rained everywhere.
----
"Hey!"
I exclaimed with a wide grin on my face as I embraced my best friend.
It was a while that I saw her again.
Really, her husband should tone down a bit in monopolizing her.
"Hey, you!" Leanna greeted with the same intensity.
We hugged each other some more before I welcomed her inside our motorhome. It was only me right now since Lawrence had to meet that annoying Maxine girl.
Well, it was okay they met during lunch while the sun was high set in the sky.
"Wow! I never thought you would live in a motorhome. This is so cool."
She gaped around our little abode while I raised my head high. My nose grew seven inches long.
"Ehehehe. This is Lawrence’s gift to me. Can you see how much your brother loves me?" I proclaimed which she just rolled her eyes in response.
"Where’s Lawrence, by the way?"
"Oh, you know . . . meeting some friends––wait!"
"What?"
Leanna halted when she was about to sit on the sofa.
I didn’t know what got over me and shouted at her. My mouth opened and closed, didn’t know what to say next.
Leanna stared me in bewilderment when I continued to stare at her, my mouth hanging open, but no words came out.
"Wha is it?" she probed.
"I . . ."
I bit my lips and forced a smile with blushing cheeks.
"I don’t think you should sit there."
Usually, I cleaned the house regularly three times a week at most. I also cleaned the place when I expected some guess. But since it was Leanna, I didn’t bother.
It was a wrong move.
Leanna frowned and glanced left and right at the sofa. Then her eyes bulged in realization. I shifted my gaze, unable to look at her.
She sighed and walked towards the dining area and grab a chair, which, of course, I stopped her again.
"Er . . . I don’t think you should sit there too . . ."
She was not smiling anymore as her whole person radiated with animosity. She closed her eyes, and with gnashing teeth, she asked, "Is there a place here that I can sit so we can have a conversation?"
I raised my finger and opened my mouth but closed it again.
"Why don’t we eat lunch outside? My treat."
Her eye twitched as an angry vein popped on her lovely face.
Before she could lecture me, I grabbed my coat and stormed out.
----
"Zoe, I’ve wanted to say this a long time . . . I’m sorry."
Leanna started when we settled ourselves in a restaurant near Zephyr Academy.
I gaped at her with a blank look. I didn’t get why she was apologizing.
"At that time, I said that Lawrence is still young, and I don’t want you to let him feel trap."
My hand rose, stopping her. "Leanna, there’s nothing to apologize about. I understand . . . And besides, I think Lawrence and I should be grateful to you."
I reached for her hand and continued, didn’t give her the chance to retort.
"At that time . . . both Lawrence and I were still immature. I was eager to be with him, and he was not ready . . . If ever we did end up, a long-distance relationship would never work between us . . . He was busy with the things he wanted to achieve, whereas I was a mess. Didn’t know what to do with my life. At that time, I think it would never work, and we would just fall out of love instead."
"Zoe . . ."
I smiled and squeezed her hand, showing her how much I was grateful to her. Not a second that I ever once blame her nor anyone for what happened in the past.
"Leanna, thank you . . . because of you, Lawrence and I are together right now . . . Going stronger each day. Of course, there’s that almost slip up on my part, but everything turned out well––no, even better!"
She smiled and breathed a sigh of relief as she squeezed my hand back.
"Thanks. I needed that. I wanted to let it out but never had the chance to tell you. But now that Cain and I are going to have our second honeymoon, I don’t know when we will have the chance to talk in person again."
"That sex drive of a husband of yours is something. I’m so envious!"
We giggled and laughed and caught up some happenings in our life. Before I knew it, the sun was already setting. Leanna offered to give me a ride back, but I refused, saying it was just a fifteen-minute walk from here.
As I was humming my way back to our cozy little motorhome, my eyes caught a familiar silhouette.
Lawrence!
I was about to run towards him when I noticed he was not alone. People his age surrounded him.
Must be his friends or classmates.
And my face crumpled when I noticed a familiar pretty cute girl with freckles.
My body boiled like a volcano that was about to explode when I noticed they were in some kind of a triple date. Pair by pair, they walked into a high-end club.
Grr!
Lawrence!
I thought after he and that girl finished talking, he would come home.
I was not against him having night outs or gimmicks with his friends. It just so happened that Maxine girl was with him that I was feeling uneasy.
I followed them inside.
