Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 114: Currency
"Sure, I don’t mind."
After laughing at the situation for a while, Jon gave Syria the box. And he said,
"But if you don’t mind telling me. I happened to overhear you saying, you might have a way to change the rowdiness in this place."
"Haa, I knew you wanted something?" Stephanie was back to been protective. However, this time,
"It’s fine Stephanie, I can answer that." Syria stopped her friend and looked at Jon.
"Well, I thought we could make a currency." Syria put her hands together as if she had finished solving it.
"Currency?" Jon asked with a confused look. Though Jon had countless numbers of cores and orbs with him at the moment, it still wasn’t enough to start using it as a currency.
"Yes, my main skill is related to Plants, with that and a little help from Stephanie, we can create one." Her eyes were now basically sparkling.
"Me?" Even Stephanie was shocked at the progression of the conversation.
"Yes, your engraving skill. If you apply it on the currency paper, it can also prevent anyone from making a counterfeit."
’Beautiful.’ Jon appreciated the idea.
He had already told the girls to keep reminding the evolvers and survivors that no idea was useless, and they would be rewarded for it.
He didn’t know why she hadn’t stepped up, but the idea was really genius. And it seemed Stephanie also knew she was intelligent.
"Woww...I could even do that?" Stephanie was still so amazed at the idea.
There was something about the system.
It only gave the users the summary of what the skill could generally do, now using the skills in several situations was up to them and if one thought just evolving their skills will give them that idea, they were totally wrong.
Jon then said, "Actually, I come from the leaders, and I don’t know if you can follow me to explain your idea."
"What?"
"Eh?"
Stephanie and Syria’s eyes widened at his word.
"Yes, I just wanted to make a quick trade and return, and since I am done, I can return." He raised the box he got from the girls as proof.
They later snapped out of their thoughts and became more composed. Stephanie was no longer acting against Jon, now she was actually contemplating his words.
"Yes" Syria immediately said again with confidence.
"You-"
"I think I am ready." Syria cut off her friend with a determined voice.
Stephanie just looked at her for a while before turning to Jon,
"I hope you aren’t going to try anything funny." Stephanie was seriously glaring at him.
And to that he just nodded, "I’ll lead the way" and Jon turned around and started leading the girls.
...
The journey back to the tallest building was so quiet that it was suspicious.
Stephanie kept glancing around to see if there was going to be anyone ambushing them, and surprisingly Syria just kept gazing at Jon’s back with a complex gaze.
And what was Jon doing? He was greeting some people.
-Hello everybody, hope you didn’t miss me.
He sent a message through the whispering techniques to the girls.
Currently, they had gotten back together after another round of watching the perimeter.
It had really been stressful for them. They didn’t know when Jon was going to wake up, so they endured.
Now hearing his voice, their heads snapped around violently. However, they couldn’t see the person talking. Then they looked at themselves.
"You heard it too, right?" Cynthia was asking just to be sure.
"Yeah, I did" Laura too was confused.
"It was directly sent to our minds?" Jenny immediately figured it out.
However, one of them didn’t get the message.
"What happened?" Luna looked around and even spread her senses to her surroundings.
But before the girls could reply, Jon said again.
-Did you already forget me, I’m sad.
"Jon?" Alexa immediately said.
"Y-You..."
"What happened?" Jenny asked worriedly.
It had been four days they saw him and about six since they last spoke to him.
Alexa immediately started running towards the tallest building. And the remaining girls followed, even Luna who still didn’t know what was going on followed them.
Jon, Syria and Stephanie had already reached the general area of the tallest building.
Here they could see people moving around doing one thing or the other, and the entrance with the guards that had been there previously.
Upon getting to the guards who about to shout at them to state their business,
WHOOSH...WHOOSH...WHOOSH
Starting from Cynthia to Luna they appeared in that order. It was inevitable that Cynthia was the first to appear, she was controlled the wind after all.
Stephanie and Syria immediately backed away. They were already preparing their skills to attack Jon when they saw the figures that just came.
"L-Legion leaders" Stephanie didn’t know what to say. She was just too shocked seeing all the legion leaders appearing in one place. And that could only mean one thing.
Syria’s eyes were wide in shock too; however, she returned her gaze to Jon’s back. True to her intelligence, she had already guessed who he might had been.
"So, you were awake." Cynthia frowned immediately and looked behind him to see two beautiful ladies. They weren’t as beautiful as her but that didn’t stop her thoughts from going wild.
"Hello." Jenny true to herself smiled and waved at him. She was just glad he was well.
Alexa though didn’t say anything. Just seeing Jon standing fine, she was satisfied. And so was Laura, a part of her still felt Jon didn’t want to be close to her, but she pushed that thought aside.
"Well, I decided to take a stroll." With a slight smile, he removed the mask he was wearing, and his face appeared.
Gasp...
Small gasps were heard all over. No one knew who did it and it wasn’t important, but Jon right now really looked stunning. His brown hair and eyes that matched his red clothes, he had even grown in height again, now standing about 6’2 from his previous 6’0.
Then almost immediately, his face turned serious,
"We have a lot to talk on, come on."
Like that, he walked past the girls and the guards who now had their heads bowed and entered the building. They both were thankful they hadn’t shouted when the bald man and the girls approached.
...
Before long, everybody was seated including the regiment, battalion leaders, Victoria and other important officials, even Julius from the gate was present.
It was too impromptu, they had said when he woke up, they would plan the meeting. However, he just called all of them randomly.
Once everyone was seated, he nodded at Nancy and said, "What happened?"
"Immediately you left..." Like that she recalled everything that happened while he was gone.
"..." He sighed and looked up a bit in sadness. After all, quite the number of survivors and evolvers had died due to that situation. So, the people present took it as a moment of silence.
After a while, Jon said, "Continue."
"We lost 502 survivors, 211 evolvers and a portion of the camp. We were able to get the weapons from the first realm skeletons. We gathered 1,489 cores and 2098 orbs from the total fight, and exactly a ton of meat and we gained 3 first realm evolvers from this incident"
’That much?’ Jon sighed, not at the gains but the losses. Now that he thought about it, he had also lost his ’Mayor’ title, but that wasn’t what this was about.
Still, looking up, he said, "You all did well. From today, take a two-day break."
The eyes of each person present widened. Even when they weren’t actively leaving the camp, they were still working in one way or the other, so this two-day break meant, two days for all of them.
Without explaining further, he turned to Stephanie and Syria.
Stephanie had been in a state of daze ever since figuring out Jon’s identity. She had indirectly insulted him and was even about to embarrass him. However, he didn’t retaliate or anything, and now he was staring at them, it was like she was just snapping out of her daze.
As for Syria, after figuring his identity, she had been monitoring him. She hadn’t taken her eyes off him since. Now he looked at them, she didn’t know where to look again.
’Am I meant to look up or down?’ She became embarrassed and wanted to bury herself.
"Tell us your idea." That was all he said. He didn’t smile like he had done in his disguise or when he saw the girls, his face and voice were now as plain as possible. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
She really had been monitoring him since seeing him.
’Does he not like me?’ This kind of thoughts began blooming in her mind. She started feeling less of herself. It was like her face sank inside, however she still stood to explain her idea.
But it wasn’t like before when she said it with excitement. It was like she had lost interest in it.
