Khali remembered the conversation he had with her before the first attack of the spiders. When she learnt they were fighting spiders she approached him.
" Sir Khali." She called out to him shyly.
"Drop the sir." She nodded then her face turned serious even though he could see the embarrassment on her face.
" I..I need to ask you something." He nodded telling her to continue. " Would the lord remove my fear of spiders if I prayed to him?"
’ Oh so this is what this is about?’ he smiled at her, fortunately she was used to his smile now and didn’t flinch.
" Sure, the lord can do anything but that isn’t the issue here, whether he can do it or not shouldn’t be what worries you.
Let me just say, God’s aren’t therapists Viona. You can ask them a lot but asking them to fix your psychological issues would be disrespectful."
Viona nodded, " Yeah, you’re right I’m sorry for asking." She turned around to leave. " Wait." He called out.
" While you can’t pray for it, I might be able to help you."
Which takes us back to the current situation. He had hypnotized her before. Which was a branch of illusion magic so it was easy for him to do.
However like all other hypnosis, it had a flaw, seeing or hearing spiders would not be enough to awaken her.
However reminding her of her fear would definitely do the trick. He poured mana into his legs and used the most basic technique of the warrior path.
Enhancement, even mages can do this on a weaker extent. How powerful the enhancement depended on how much mana was used.
And how much mana can be used depended on how much the user’s body can handle which was determined by their physical strength.
His body was very strong, stronger than what one would expect from a human which made since since he wasn’t a human.
After pouring mana into his legs he kicked off the ground. The stone cracked beneath his feet.
His body blurred forward like a shadow and reached her before the spider’s leg did. The spider hit empty air.
He ran to the others and placed her down, " look after her." He ordered them then turned around to face the spider.
They all nodded especially Freya who looked a bit guilty. " I’m sorry." She whispered softly.
" It’s not your fault. I need you to cast physical enhancement and mana regeneration spells on me."
She nodded vigorously. " By my will and the words of old I cast these words. Vigor et Viribus."
She cast two enhancement spells on him at the same time which was a testament of her talent for the magic branch.
His body lit up for a split moment. He could feel his mana regeneration increase by at least 20 percent.
His physical attributes especially strength grew as well. He held his spear with both hands and attacked.
His speed had Increased, he reached the spider in a second. It leg stabbed out and pierced through his chest.
Everybody stood still, shaken by what they had just seen, even the spider let down it guard then he disappeared like smoke.
Before the spiders could register what had just happened he appeared out of thin air and cut off it leg.
It screeched in pain and shot two steel web balls at him and he jumped back to dodge them.
In rage it lunged at him, he ran around the cave dodging it bites. It didn’t attack with any of it remaining 6 legs.
It was obviously wary but seeing none of it other attacks work, it had no other choice. But that is what he was waiting for.
It attacked with it spear like legs, however all it hit was a mirage clone, he appeared next to it again.
His spear drew an arc through the air but he had underestimated it. It immediately folded it leg faster than he could react.
He heard the wind howl to his left, he raised his spear to block and a force so strong it made his arms shake hit him.
The force sent him flying dozens of metres, behind him followed steel web spheres. The moment his feet touched the ground he bent his body backwards.
He bent so far his back almost touched the ground. The spheres passed above him and hit the cave wall on the other side, he rose back up and faced the spider that was running at him like a speeding bull.
His spearhead turned red, the heat around it was so high it made the air boil. The spider stabbed at him with it leg.
He spun to the side then attacked, a red arc was drawn through the air like a painting. Before his spear could touch the spider he was forced to pull back his attack and retreat.
It had attacked with another of it long legs meaning it was only standing in four legs yet it still looked stable.
It didn’t let up of course and followed with another attack forcing him to jump to the air to dodge.
However that seemed to be a mistake, the two legs stabbed towards him. Dodging in the air would be hard if not impossible.
He used Viona’s move and exploded flames at the sole of his feet. This allowed him to change direction and dodge mid air.
Of course the spider followed up with another attack then fired it steel web balls at him.
Flames exploded on his feet, he spun mid air and stepped on the spiders legs itself. This caught it off guard.
He swung his spear as hard as he could aiming for the tiny crack in the joint of it legs when another leg showed up.
This forced him to kick off the first leg and dodge the second. Then he fired fireballs at it face.
It closed it eyes to protect them but because three were already wounded it felt the pain. It was unable to see him for a split moment.
He dropped from the sky aiming for it leg again ready to cut it off. Then one of the legs cut through the air faster than he can react.
It pierced through his heart, then he disappeared. The spider was surprised again and looked around but it was too late.
Two red arcs appeared in the air and both legs flew off. It wounds seared from the burning spear and did not bleed.
It screeched loudly in pain and rage but that was what he was waiting for. He threw a caltrop grenade in it mouth.
" Boom." He whispered and a muffled explosion was heard from it mouth. The spider stood still for a moment then it eyes lost their light and it fell down like a collapsing hill.
