Chi Lian snorted. Did she look like she was in need of a secret skincare recipe?

"I did not raise him on processed sugar, not me." Madam Feng thumped her chest. "I raised some bees and and used my life savings to buy a small farm in E city. Everything my baby ate was farm to table. I even massaged the meat before cooking it because....."

"Oh my God!" The Empress Dowager jumped in. "You were not raising a son, you were raising an Emperor. Just to move this ahead, where are you heading to madam Feng? We have all understood how precious your baby is so now just cut to the chase."

Madam Feng sighed. She turned her head and looked and Mei Mei, "Lady Chi, your daughter took advantage of my son and she wants to be hooligan. She does not want to take responsibility for him. His purity and innocence have been destroyed. All we want is an explanation."

The Empress Dowager almost choked on her oat milk. Innocence and purity!! "Aren’t they dating already? How is she a hooligan? I am certain that this....err...progress in their relationship is a good sign."

"Yes." Mei Mei hissed. "It is a good sign. Now let’s wrap up the drama and everyone go to bed."

"You mean airport." Jun Jie corrected.

Mei Mei nodded. "Airport, let those of us leaving tonight go to the airport." She stood up eagerly.

"Sit down." Chi Lian said sternly.

Mei Mei grimaced, but she obeyed. Her butt found the warm soft seat where it had been resting. "Mother, I don’t really see a need for all this. Jingzhe and I are adults who can handle their relationship. There is no need for anybody to intervene for any reason, not even you...our precious parents."

"How can we not intervene when my precious son is like this?" Madam Feng asked in a horrified voice. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Chi Lian nodded. "It cannot be helped Mei Mei, Jingzhe is feeling wronged and he is afraid. You did not do a good enough job in making him feel secure."

"Oh my God!" Mei Mei exclaimed loudly, "I pamper him the same way his mother pampers him. Before I eat, I make sure that I feed him. When I see something interesting, I buy it for him. When he is not feeling alright...." she stopped and sighed. "I am going to take responsibility for him. Okay?"

Jingzhe sat up, giving up the slumped position and sad face.

Madam Feng pushed him back down. "Really. How are you planning to take responsibility?"

"I will pay a bride price." She blurted out.

The Empress Mother finally choked on her oat milk and mama Su hurried to slap her back gently as she coughed.

Mei Mei did not pause to check on her neighbor. She just added to her declaration, "When we are ready for marriage, I will pay his bride price since he was raised so preciously like a fragile flower."

Jingzhe sat up again and madam Feng pushed him down. "Stay there." she commanded.

Everyone laughed.

Madam Feng stood up and walked to Mei Mei with some papers in her hand. She placed them in Mei Mei’s hands along with a pen. "One contract gives you fifty percent ownership of Blue Galactic and the other one is an agreement that you will never reconsider your relationship because Jingzhe owns the company and he didn’t mention it to you."

Those who were not aware that Jingzhe owned Blue Galactic were stunned.

"He owns THE BLUE GALACTIC!!" Jun Jie exclaimed.

"How old was he when he started the company?" Jun Yi asked in a bewildered voice.

The Empress Dowager was blinking rapidly. How many more secrets did this young man have?

Chi Lian and Muyang were stunned for a different reason. Jingzhe’s move to give up fifty percent of the shares came as a surprise. Did he know what he was doing? It was one thing to give up the shares as an engagement or wedding gift and another to hand them over when he and Mei Mei were still girlfriend and boyfriend.

If they broke up, he would not be getting the shares back unless she voluntarily gave them up or he sued her and a judge ruled in his favor.

"A Zhe," Chi Lian called his voice softly, showing concern on her face. "Are you sure about this?"

Jingzhe sat up and nodded. All pretense melted from his face as he said seriously, "I started Blue Galactic for Mei Mei, because she started Space M and showed a lot of interest in space business. The company was meant to be her bride price if someday I ever got lucky to marry her. I am simply giving it to its rightful owner."

Something inside Mei Mei’s heart shifted. How could she make a big deal about it when he put it that way? How did she gain the love and loyalty of such a good man? Almost everything about his life rotated around her and Mingzhu.

"A Zhe..." She whispered his name softly, tears gaining a foothold in her eyes. She didn’t sign the papers but stood up with her hands spread widely. Her feet carried him in Jingzhe’s direction.

He did not wait for her to reach and stood up as well. No matter what his mother said, he was not staying down.

But the hug did not go to him.

Muyang stepped between them and embraced his daughter.

Chi Lian slapped her forehead. "Oh for heavens sake! Let her hug her boyfriend Muyang." She grabbed the back of her husband’s shirt and yanked him away from Mei Mei.

As she forced him to sit down, the couple’s arms reached each others shoulders.

But again, they didn’t get to embrace as they wanted.

Rose walked in, loudly calling Mei Mei’s name, panting like she had been running a marathon. Behind her was assistant Han, her husband and their children who were already dressed for a vacation.

"What’s the emergency?" Chi Lian asked them.

Assistant Han stepped forward.

Rose pushed her aside and said hastily. "Mei Mei, you are being sued."
