Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 396: Again, he showed up.
When Mei Mei reached the camp, there were signs of impatience in the air. The reporters that had been invited to the opening of fairyland were sweating and fanning themselves manually or with small fans that they held in their hands.
The mascots were not dancing as they should have been. Most of them had their faces exposed because the heat was bothering them. They were lazily moving from side to side.
Some kids were shirtless and toddlers were seen everywhere walking round in swimming shorts or costumes.
Employees were distributing cool drinks because everyone was muttering complaints about the heat.
Assistant Han was the only person on the grounds of the camp that was wearing a full suit with its jacket. She was not sweating in the slightest. As usual, she looked perfect like a cucumber that had just been harvested.
Mei Mei did not bother asking her assistant how she was pulling off the miracle or changing out of her dress into the suit that had been prepared for the press conference. She rushed to the the edge of the forest, took her place behind a table and faced the reporters.
"I apologize for being late, there was a snake emergency." She said into the microphone.
The reporters arranged themselves quickly and the quick ones started throwing in questions before the press conference even begun.
"Are you late because your boyfriend and Mr. Duan Siping had another falling out?"
Mei Mei blinked. Confusion showed on her face and she blurted out "When did they have a falling out in the first place?"
Assistant Han grabbed a microphone quickly to bring the attention of the reporters back to the opening of fairyland.
"How true is it that you have received dozens of complaints from parents who think Whiskers ten should be taken off the air because it is encouraging children to believe in aliens?"
Mei Mei rolled her eyes. "Children believe in Santa Claus, I don’t see anybody lining up to lock up the chubby man that slides down chimneys. Which is a crime called home invasion by the way."
Some reporters sniggered. Others saw a reason to attack her more.
"Are you comparing Santa to Whiskers ten?"
Again, she rolled her eyes. "No, I am beginning to realize that you are asking all the wrong questions and yet we don’t have a lot of time on our hands. Why don’t I begin the real business by welcoming you all to Pearl Space Camp again."
The camp directors and mascots that had rushed to her side clapped their hands.
"Because I am late, I won’t say much." She leaned forward a little to feel the cool breeze coming from the forest and ponds. She needed it to hit her back because she was already sweating. "This camp was started with children in mind and it keeps that goal at the forefront of all its planning. We exist to pull children into a wonderland where they can explore their dreams and fairyland is no different.
Many of us grew up on bedtime stories and those with fairies made up at least forty percent. For many children, it is their wish to see a fairy at least once in their lifetime. Now, they won’t have to wonder anymore. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
At Pearl Space Camp, not only can they see fairies but they can play with them, dine with them, sing with them and dance with them. We even have pods in there and some lucky people will be able to sleep in fairyland.
In the fight to bring back our children outdoors, fairyland is one of the champions for the cause that promises to be fun and a bit educative. I welcome you all to explore it and have fun with us."
The executives and staff that had gathered slowly applauded.
"The CEO has five minutes to answer your questions." Assistant Han said to the reporters.
A reporter shouted into a small microphone attached to his shirt, "This is a space camp. Fairyland does not fit in with the space theme. Why did you choose it and not something else?"
Mei Mei shrugged. "Imagination should not be limited. Who says that there are no fairies in space?"
"Are they real fairies?" Another reporter asked.
"You will find out when you get inside." She replied.
"Is it true that the yellow candy at Rong Meihua’s engagement party was actually yellow gold and a guest broke their tooth trying to bite into it?"
Mei Mei sighed. "Sir....." She sighed again. "We have some tooth fairies inside so why don’t you ask them all about it. They know everything about teeth and oral hygiene."
The reporter that asked the question wanted to growl or throw down his camera. Jun Meilin had the most infuriating way of answering questions.
A reporter from Phoenix television asked, "The Emperor was around for the opening of the space camp. Will he be here for the opening of Fairyland. You two have been there at each other’s most important events in life."
Mei Mei opened her mouth to respond. Just before she could respond, loud sirens circled in the air above them. A dozen cars with the insignia of the Imperial command were seen just before they landed. In the midst of the cars was the Emperor’s car.
"The Emperor has come." Someone shouted.
Mei Mei groaned. "Why is he here?" She hissed the question at assistant Han.
Assistant Han shrugged. How was she supposed to know about the emperor’s movements? He was the boss’s best friend. If anyone was supposed to know his plans, it was her.
The reporters lost interest in Mei Mei for a moment, especially when the Emperor appeared with his two daughters. He was holding one in each hand. Even though they were all dressed in black, the children wore wings like fairies. They also had their crowns on. Long Shuang even had a wand with a star on the tip and a lollipop in her mouth.
Reporters rushed towards them but the royal agents and imperial soldiers who were led by Jun Mingzhe held them back.
Mei Mei had not taken in their arrival completely when Mingzhe appeared, with Mingzhu in his arms. She was also wearing wings and had a crown.
Then, more cars showed up, relatives that had brought their children who were all dressed as fairies.
She heard the Emperor saying, "I am here today as a best friend and a parent. I am glad that we have responsible business owners like this that are responding to my call to bring back the children outside and give them a deserving childhood."
Mei Mei lowered her head to the table and sighed. It was already becoming more crowded. Parents and children were coming from all directions. With the emperor’s stamp of approval, more would be coming over.
Junjie was great for business. Nothing beat an endorsement from the Emperor himself. But his presence was often a distraction and cause for gossip.
