Kissed and Seduced By the Most Rough Man in the Village-Chapter 430: Jiang Yexun, Who Doesn’t Dare to Face His Brother-in-Law
Jiang Yexun changed his clothes and went downstairs, where he ran into Aunt Guo, who had rushed out of the kitchen upon hearing the noise.
"Mom," Jiang Yexun greeted her.
Aunt Guo merely glanced at him briefly before looking behind him. After waiting a moment without seeing her daughter-in-law, she immediately gave Jiang Yexun a disapproving look. "Where’s Xiaoxiao? It’s not a big deal if a man like you skips a meal, but Xiaoxiao is a young woman. She shouldn’t go hungry."
"Xiaoxiao’s sleeping a bit longer. I’ll be back soon, so keep the soup simmering. I’ll bring it up for her when I return," Jiang Yexun replied, his wheat-colored face flushing slightly. Aunt Guo, being older and experienced, could clearly understand what was going on. Her gaze became even more disdainful as she looked at him.
"Be careful! You’re a big, strong man. Don’t go hurting my delicate daughter-in-law," she admonished with a hint of annoyance.
"Mm," Jiang Yexun mumbled, nodding hurriedly as he lowered his head and quickly exited the house, as if his pants were on fire.
Since it was close to the New Year and people in China tend to be superstitious about avoiding hospitals during festive times, the hospital was noticeably less crowded. When Jiang Yexun saw that the gynecologist on duty was a woman, his usually smooth tongue suddenly became a bit tied.
The doctor raised her head, looking at him in confusion. "Did you maybe come to the wrong department?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"No, I’m here to get some medicine for my wife," Jiang Yexun coughed awkwardly.
"Oh, and what’s going on with your wife? If she’s not feeling well, it’s best to bring her here for a proper check-up," the doctor responded patiently.
Nowadays, many men still find it embarrassing to talk about women’s health issues. So to the doctor, seeing someone like Jiang Yexun willing to discuss his wife’s condition and pick up medication for her made him seem like a rare, considerate husband.
"She’s not sick. We just got married yesterday, and... she got a bit hurt," he murmured even quieter.
The doctor’s hand holding the pen paused slightly, and then she looked at him with a playful smile.
"You’re a bit on the older side to be getting married, so it’s understandable you’d be excited. But remember, women’s bodies are more delicate, and their structure makes them more prone to certain issues. You’ll need to exercise some control."
"I understand," Jiang Yexun replied, not finding her advice nagging at all. Instead, he felt even more sympathetic toward his wife.
The doctor quickly wrote down the names of some medications on a prescription and handed it to him, but then added, "Just go and pick up the medicine. But ideally, she should rest for a week to avoid any risk of infection."
A week?!
Hearing this, Jiang Yexun felt as if his world was crashing down. He struggled to keep his face neutral, though. Taking the prescription, he hesitated before asking, "Um, can I also get some contraceptive supplies?"
"Of course. But you’re not planning on having kids just yet?" the doctor asked curiously, noting his age.
Thinking of his young wife, a smile involuntarily tugged at his lips. "There’s no rush. My wife is still young, so we plan to wait a few years."
"All right, I’ll give you two boxes, three in each box. You can wash and reuse them a few times if needed," the doctor said, making an additional note on the prescription before handing it back.
After thanking the doctor, Jiang Yexun quickly headed to the payment counter. Once he had the medication, he tucked it into his pocket and hurried back to the house.
Halfway there, he spotted Su Hongchen and a few others approaching the hospital from a distance. His mind went blank, and he suddenly felt as if he was about to get beaten up right after getting married. But upon closer inspection, he noticed they were carrying an injured person behind them, which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief.
However, Jiang Yexun still didn’t dare let his brother-in-law see him at the hospital at this time. So, for the sake of family harmony, he hunched his shoulders and ducked into an alley, taking a longer route back to the house.
