Kissed and Seduced By the Most Rough Man in the Village-Chapter 343: Mr. Su Remembers to Buy Snacks for His Daughter After Work
Aunt Guo’s hand trembled as she set the teacup down on the coffee table. Although her stomach hadn’t started to hurt yet, she knew it was only a matter of time. She glanced apologetically at Su Xiaoxiao and then at Mrs. Su.
"I’m going to use the bathroom, I’ll be right back," Aunt Guo said awkwardly before hurrying out. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Mrs. Su took a deep breath before turning to her daughter. "Are your hands poisonous or something?"
"Of course not! I think it’s because Dad’s tea leaves were kept too long and went bad," Su Xiaoxiao spoke with such reason and confidence, but inside, she was feeling incredibly guilty.
Dad, please don’t be angry that I wasted your precious tea leaves!
After all, it was only by using the excuse of making tea for them that the spring water from the space could be added for everyone to drink right away.
Since drinking that spring water, her body had become much more agile, and her strength had increased significantly. They were investigating the mastermind behind everything, so having a strong, healthy body was essential for the work they were doing.
If it came down to it, she could try planting a few different types of tea trees in the space and dedicate them exclusively to her dad in the future.
Su Xiaoxiao thought this idea was quite brilliant and immediately started planning in her mind where she could get the tea saplings.
"Has it really gone bad?" Mrs. Su asked, a bit suspicious, furrowing her brow.
However, after considering it for a moment, she found herself agreeing with her daughter’s explanation. There was no way the tea could have gone wrong just from being brewed with water.
"Well, your dad did keep the tea for four months. I told him to drink it regularly if he liked it, but he was saving it. Now look, it’s spoiled. Tea going bad is one thing, but people getting sick is a big problem," Mrs. Su, furious, muttered complaints under her breath.
She then pulled the tea leaves out of the dresser and slammed the packet onto the coffee table, clearly waiting for Su Lianghui to come home so she could properly confront him about it.
Su Xiaoxiao, feeling guilty, almost wanted to hide herself away, but Mrs. Su, too angry to notice, didn’t catch any sign of her unease.
By the time Mrs. Su finished stir-frying the last two dishes, Mr. Su had returned home from work. Lately, the pressure from the steel materials issue at work had weighed heavily on him.
However, as soon as he stepped inside and saw his little daughter sitting on the sofa, the frown that had been on his face disappeared, replaced with a loving, indulgent smile.
"Xiaoxiao, I know you like candied chestnuts. I bought a bag when I passed by the cinema. Eat them while they’re warm; they’re not as fragrant when they’re cold," Mr. Su said, taking out the bag of chestnuts from his pocket.
Su Xiaoxiao’s eyes welled up with tears, and she struggled to keep them in check. She vowed never to let the tragedies of her past life repeat in this one, especially with such caring parents and brother.
"Why are you crying? Did someone bully you? Tell Daddy, and I’ll make them pay!" Mr. Su said urgently, trying to comfort her.
Su Xiaoxiao shook her head, holding back her tears. "No, I’m just touched by how good you all are to me!"
Mr. Su was momentarily puzzled but then thought it was likely because of the gender inequality Xiaoxiao had seen in the countryside. He patted her head, saying, "We can’t control how others are, but you are our most cherished child. Of course, we’ll treat you well. Remember, no matter what happens, if someone treats you badly, it’s their fault, not yours."
This world is truly harsh on women, especially after they get married. If the child is naughty or something happens, it’s always the mother’s fault.
If the house is messy, if the elderly are sick and no one is taking care of them, or if meals aren’t served on time, people will only say that it’s the woman’s laziness, that the woman is at fault.
But in reality, women in the countryside are the ones who have to work the land, while those in the cities find it much harder to secure a job. Even those who do find work often have to give it up for the sake of the family when they become pregnant or give birth.
"Hmm, I definitely won’t let others make me feel inferior," Su Xiaoxiao agreed, nodding firmly.
Mrs. Su came out of the kitchen and saw Mr. Su’s dark expression. She sat down on the sofa and pushed the package of tea leaves toward him.
"I told you to use up the things you like quickly. Now, look, it’s all moldy."
Mr. Su was taken aback and stared at the package with wide eyes. "Impossible! This is oil-paper-wrapped; it shouldn’t get damp. I drank it last week, and the taste was fine."
"The taste might be fine, but people have problems. Didn’t you see the four empty cups on the table? Everyone who drank it got an upset stomach, and it’s been fifteen minutes with no relief. Look at how toxic your tea leaves are," Mrs. Su scolded.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Mr. Su insisted, but his expression showed he was in pain as he opened the package and smelled it.
The aroma was still fresh and fragrant. "I’ll give it a try," Mr. Su said, picking up the four empty cups and heading for the kitchen to wash them.
Mrs. Su glared at him and pulled him back onto the sofa. "What are you trying to prove? Do you want to end up in the hospital too? Should we all go there tonight?"
"I just want to brew a new cup and see if it tastes fine before I drink it," Mr. Su said stubbornly. He had saved his allowance for three months to buy this tea, and he couldn’t bear to see it wasted.
Seeing he wouldn’t be dissuaded, Mrs. Su sighed, "Fine, then drink it. But if you end up in the hospital, I’m not taking care of you."
"I’ll just have a small sip, there won’t be any problem," Mr. Su said with a flattering smile.
Mrs. Su impatiently spat at him and he quickly grabbed the tea leaves and headed to the kitchen.
After brewing a fresh cup, Mr. Su returned to the sofa.
Mrs. Su immediately looked at him anxiously.
Only Su Xiaoxiao, feeling guilty, turned her eyes away.
This morning, when she ate noodles, she also had a stomachache, but it wasn’t as bad. It was just a regular stomach ache that went away after a trip to the bathroom. Unlike them, who were paralyzed and couldn’t stand up.
"This tea tastes fine," Mr. Su said, sniffing the fresh aroma, and then hurriedly took a large sip, as if afraid his wife would stop him.
The moment the tea touched his lips, Mr. Su’s expression changed.
Mrs. Su, who had been watching him carefully, immediately said, "See? I told you the tea was bad!"
Mr. Su quickly swallowed the tea in his mouth and shook his head. "It’s not bad. It’s just... this taste is even sweeter and more fragrant."
"Hmph, I think you really like that moldy taste!" Mrs. Su glared at him irritably.
