Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 132
That day was especially unlucky. On the way to work, he got into a minor accident, and having no choice, he took a taxi to the office—only to be caught in a sudden downpour upon arrival. Even as he dashed inside the building, he ended up soaking wet. The meeting ran over its scheduled time without reaching any conclusion, and the sandwich he had for lunch was missing its toppings.
By the time he finished the long day and returned home, it was already 2 a.m. But there was little time to rest—he had to catch a flight at 6. Winston opened the front door as quietly as he could. As the door cracked open, a strong scent of alcohol mixed with pheromones immediately hit him. It was almost a daily occurrence by now, so he wasn’t surprised.
Closing the door softly, he moved quietly and soon found Yujin asleep on the living room sofa. Setting down the suitcase he was carrying, he gently slid his hand under Yujin’s shoulder and expertly lifted him. As they drew close, the mixed scent of alcohol and pheromones intensified sharply. Winston carefully stepped toward the bedroom, trying not to overwhelm the sleeping man. Yet despite his slow, cautious movements, as he laid Yujin down on the bed, the latter let out a small groan and opened his eyes.
“...Winnie?”
“Yes, it’s me.”
Winston answered gently in a drowsy voice and kissed Yujin’s cheek.
“Go back to sleep. I’ll be leaving soon.”
“Again?”
Yujin frowned and asked, struggling to keep his heavy eyelids open. Winston replied softly.
“I have to go on a business trip. It’ll take about two days.”
“Two whole days...”
Yujin muttered, his voice sinking with disappointment. Winston smiled to reassure him.
“Don’t worry, it’ll be quick. Did you have fun with your new friends?”
“Yeah...”
Winston took the vague answer as a cue and continued.
“I’m fine, so call out if you want to hang out, alright? But don’t drink too much.”
Though he added the warning, it was uncertain if Yujin fully understood. As drowsiness continued to overwhelm him and he struggled to stay awake, Winston pulled the sheet up to his chin. Eventually, Yujin gave in to instinct and breathed steadily. Watching him for a while, Winston finally rose and headed to the bathroom.
Adjusting the water temperature under the cold faucet, his face showed no trace of a smile. After a deep sigh, Winston looked into the mirror and saw his own tired, worn-out face. Since that day, he’d been working almost nonstop. He had prepared himself, but reality was far harsher than expected.
After finishing their first trip alone together, Winston shamelessly took Yujin to the annex. The company was still busy with a series of incidents, and Harold barely came home. Fortunately, the situation dragged on far longer than anticipated. Tax evasion was a serious crime; his father might even go to jail, or in the worst case, the company might collapse. Winston had committed that tremendous act solely for Yujin, but he never regretted it. Because of it, Harold hadn’t been able to find Yujin for nearly two years, and Winston was able to maintain a secret relationship with him.
Of course, no secret lasts forever. One day, shortly before graduation, they were caught by the butler. The news quickly spread throughout the entire Campbell estate.
Unsurprisingly, the angriest was Lady Campbell. She slapped Winston across the face in front of the staff and then, not satisfied, unleashed a hysterical curse on them. Winston wasn’t especially hurt or afraid—he’d planned to leave the house after graduation to live with Yujin anyway. His honest plan was to announce their relationship after Yujin became pregnant, but this turn of events wasn’t bad either. He wanted to monopolize Yujin longer by having a child later.
Without wasting time, Winston left the family with Yujin. ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) At first, they lived together in a small apartment, which wasn’t too bad considering how quickly they got it. Above all, they were together—and that was enough.
But that was only Winston’s perspective. After coming home exhausted from work, Yujin would greet him warmly, like a plant long left in a dark basement finally soaking up warm sunlight, trailing after him and chatting about trivial things.
The problem was that Winston was too tired. Coming home past midnight and leaving before sunrise, he barely had time or energy to deal with Yujin. Yujin understood this and refrained from talking unless absolutely necessary.
Seeing Yujin withering day by day, Winston thought he needed to come up with a solution—but that wasn’t easy either. Thinking of Yujin, fallen asleep crumpled on the sofa waiting for him late at night, filled Winston with deep doubts about what he was doing. After sighing and finishing his shower, he received an unexpected phone call. It was his mother.
At this hour...?
Checking the time again, he frowned and pressed the call button. After a moment, a familiar voice flowed through.
“Mother, what is it?”
Had something happened to the family?
Perhaps they’d found out about what he’d done. He didn’t really care. But then, his mother spoke abruptly.
“Come back home, Winston.”
Her calm, cold voice made Winston hesitate. Without saying anything, he stayed silent while Lady Campbell continued.
“Harold has forgiven you. Return to the estate. I hope you come to the company and help Harold.”
It was unbelievable, but true. When he visited the estate over the weekend, Harold himself repeated his mother’s words.
“It’s over now. Come back. The company needs you.”
“Are you really allowing Yujin and me?”
When Winston asked again to confirm, Harold’s face grew harsh—but only for a moment. Then he sighed and softened his expression.
“Winston, if you truly believe Yujin loves you sincerely, you’re greatly mistaken.”
Instead of answering, Winston furrowed his brows. Seeing this, Harold continued.
“I know that kid better than anyone. Of course, I’ve watched him since he was very young and practically raised him. You have no idea how calculating Yujin really is.”
Winston said nothing—not because he agreed, but because he didn’t think it was worth responding. His father knew nothing about Yujin. What was he saying about his pure, gentle Omega? Harold sneered, perhaps reading the emotions on Winston’s face, and looked at his still-young son with narrowed eyes.
“Winston, you’re too young. You don’t know the world well enough yet. You’ll understand the meaning of my words eventually.”
“If that’s all you want to say, then I...”
“Come back to the Campbell family.”
Harold ordered. Winston sensed the pheromone scent around him grow stronger and looked at Harold. Harold continued.
“I won’t take any action against you two for now. So come back. If Yujin is truly the person you think he is, there’s no need to resist.”
Winston stayed silent for a moment. Between the tense silence, he finally spoke.
“You don’t want me, do you?”
At his quiet question, Harold didn’t flinch and stared at him. Winston gained certainty.
“If you want to get Yujin back, it’s a waste of time. We’re engaged. Soon I’ll propose to Yujin.”
That was actually planned for later. But Winston had to warn his father now. Feeling an unexplainable sense of crisis, Winston lied brazenly. Harold silently regarded his son’s face and then spoke.
“Go ahead. By all means.”
His usual indifferent tone made Winston hesitate. Harold continued casually.
“Then there’s even less reason for you not to come back. I’ll prepare a place for you. Come starting next month.”
Next month was just three days away. Without asking about Winston’s circumstances, Harold issued the order abruptly as usual. Winston wanted to refuse deep down, but then the image of exhausted Yujin asleep before his eyes stopped him. If he returned to his father’s company, life would be much better than now. If he got a car and learned to drive, Yujin would be able to do many more things. It might be better.
“I won’t enter the estate. I’ll get a separate place for Yujin and me to live.”
Harold readily accepted Winston’s condition. Then he proposed a luxury villa in town—one of the family’s properties worth tens of millions of dollars. And that was how Winston stepped into hell.
