Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 126
“Oh, Princess. Thank you so much for inviting me again today.”
At the front entrance, Georgina greeted Yujin and Angela with a graceful curtsey. Angela, who had come out deliberately to see them off at the car, looked at her with a deeply furrowed brow.
“Today, it’s a fancy restaurant, Georgina!”
“Oh my.”
Startled, Georgina lightly covered her mouth with one hand and glanced subtly at Yujin. Yujin gave a wry smile and added an explanation.
“It suddenly changed this morning. There was no time to revise the invitation...”
“I see. Then what should I do? Chef? Or manager?”
This was a question about Angela’s role for the day. Angela straightened her chest and answered.
“Call me Chef Angela. Manager, please show the guests to their seats.”
Following her daughter’s instructions, Yujin guided Charlotte along with Georgina. Like last time, they headed toward Angela’s room, and Georgina was secretly quite excited. Finally, it was time to check the things she had researched on her own.
Sitting quietly in Angela’s room, a little later Angela entered wearing a proper chef’s hat and an apron tied around her waist. Georgina quickly took out her phone and took a photo, then, as if nothing had happened, stood upright and waited for the child. Angela stopped a few steps from the table where the guests were seated, cleared her throat, and began to speak.
“Welcome, guests. Thank you for coming to Angela’s fine dining restaurant.”
The child deliberately stretched out the last word, placed her right hand over her left chest, and bowed slightly forward. For a moment, Charlotte and Georgina almost clapped, but Yujin quickly stopped them. It seemed they had rehearsed before welcoming guests, so they quietly lowered their hands and waited. Angela straightened her back again and spoke.
“Today’s special dish is a steak I prepared especially. I grilled it with butter. You will like it very much.”
Making motions as if turning her hands back and forth, Angela finished.
“Then please enjoy today’s meal.”
Backing away, the child bowed again, turned around, and quickly walked out. The door closed, and after a few seconds of silence, Georgina unleashed the words she had been holding back like a waterfall.
“How on earth is Angie so adorable? How did she even know to wear that toque? It’s a shame I didn’t take more pictures!”
Georgina fussed, flustered and at a loss, while Yujin gave a wry smile and said.
“She’s really into cooking shows these days. The chef on them... um, he’s Angie’s type.”
“Oh my, who is he? Please tell me too! I’m so curious about the man Angie’s crazy about.”
Unable to resist Georgina’s prompting, Yujin found a photo of the chef and showed it. Charlotte and Georgina leaned forward at the same time to see the screen.
“Oh, this guy. He’s getting popular these days. So Angie likes someone like this.”
Following Georgina’s admiration, Charlotte spoke for the first time.
“I thought she’d like someone her own age, so that’s ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) surprising...”
Hearing the usual fading voice, Yujin replied.
“Well, Angie has a somewhat mature taste...”
“She likes older men?”
Grabbing the last word quickly, Georgina prompted, and Yujin nodded calmly.
“Kids her age are childish, she says.”
“Oh my.”
Charlotte blushed and brought one hand to her mouth. It looked like she was trying not to laugh, but Yujin could only give a wry smile.
“She’s a lot more mature than kids her age...”
“Well, kids that age don’t match Angie’s level anyway.”
Georgina nodded in agreement as if it was obvious.
“Angie really has good taste. This guy is really smart and well-mannered, and very popular right now. He’s also pretty good-looking...”
At that point, Georgina asked mischievously.
“Is it because he’s handsome that she likes him?”
“Oh, not really.”
Yujin shook her head.
“Angie likes kind people. This guy looked very kind when I saw him on the show. I don’t know what he’s really like, though.”
“Oh, so she doesn’t care about looks?”
At Georgina’s question, Yujin laughed awkwardly.
“She looks a lot.”
If Angela had liked Winston just by his face, she wouldn’t have been so wary of him. Of course, things are different now.
Suddenly recalling recent events, Yujin felt strange. It was uncomfortable enough for him to see Winston treat the child kindly, but Angela also seemed to be opening her heart more and more. This was very troubling. Georgina, who knew nothing of this, nodded contentedly.
“So she judges by personality on top of looks. I like Angie even more.”
Seeing her thumbs-up gesture, Yujin could only smile. A little later, Angela entered, followed by the staff. She was carrying out a course meal that faithfully copied a dish the chef she liked had recently shown on the program.
While dining elegantly and chiming in with Angela, Georgina did not miss a chance to observe Yujin and the child carefully. No matter how she thought about it, it was strange. According to what she had researched thoroughly, Yujin should be a vulgar whore obsessed only with money. But both last time and now, he was a very quiet and calm personality, far from the noisy type. He didn’t match at all the person her family scorned in unison.
If anything, it seemed like he must have suffered terribly.
Knowing well what kind of people her family and relatives were, Georgina could only think this way.
But it was incomprehensible that even Winston thought the same way.
They were definitely very close, so if so, Winston must know a lot about Yujin too.
What Georgina had found out so far was that Yujin had been the grandfather Harold’s mistress and that he even tried to seduce Winston but got chased away by Harold’s wrath. It was somewhat understandable that the family still despised him. If this was true.
But then why had the grandfather called Yujin back to the mansion?
Moreover, attaching the condition that she marry his most beloved child and have a child with him — it didn’t add up as the last words of a man who had been trying to play his son like a puppet in front of his eyes. He had even personally kicked Yujin out.
This was the part where Georgina got stuck. No matter how hard she tried, no one told her anything, and she couldn’t find any documents or clues to guess. Only one method remained. Whether it would work was unknown.
She heard that the medicine was available.
What mattered was whether she could actually use it. Giving medicine to her uncle just out of curiosity was a dangerously bold idea. She was also guilty in conscience.
Unable to cross the last line and worrying, she suddenly noticed Charlotte’s arm in her sight. More precisely, a faint bruise reflected at the end of the sleeve.
“Oh my, what’s this?” Georgina shouted in surprise, pointing at Charlotte’s arm. Charlotte hastily pulled down her sleeve, but it was already revealed. Yujin also looked at her with wide eyes, and she soon turned pale, not knowing what to do. Realizing her mistake, Georgina quickly shut her mouth and glanced around. Charlotte looked flustered, rolling her eyes, and stammered.
“I-it’s nothing. I got hurt doing housework.”
Distrust filled Georgina’s face. She looked like she had many things she wanted to say, but because of Yujin, she didn’t continue. Yujin also noticed this and quietly got up.
“I’m going to check on what Angie’s doing.”
Noticing his quick exit, Georgina waited and then spoke.
“What happened? Did Gordon hit you again?”
“Georgina!”
Charlotte raised her voice in surprise but quickly covered her mouth. But that reaction was the clearest answer of all. Georgina’s eyes flashed with anger as she whispered furiously.
“When will that bad habit of his ever stop? Have you reported it to the police? That guy deserves to be humiliated!”
