There was only deafening silence after a while. Cain wanted to bang his head on the wall for being reckless. He could not help it, and those words suddenly came out of his mouth. He knew it was too early, and yet here he was, blabbering those words that might scare Kimmy.

Meanwhile, Kimmy was having a debate on her own.

'Say yes to him! You're an idiot if you let this opportunity slide! Don't hesitate!' Kimmy's inner self screamed. She must overcome it. Cain was very patient with her, and she wanted to marry someone like him. However, she was unsure if she was ready for that commitment. She wanted to be sure before she should give him an answer.

No one moved until Cain felt something wet on his back. Kimmy's head was resting on his shoulder while they still hugged each other.

"Kimberly?" he whispered. He could now hear her suppressed sobbing.

'Is she crying?'

Cain inwardly cursed again because the last thing he wanted to do was make Kimmy cry!

"Yeah," Kimmy answered. She was crying. She did not know why but tears suddenly rolled down her eyes. She wanted to hold it in, but she couldn't. It was probably because of sudden emotions rushing through her.

Cain moved and gently pushed her so he could see her face. Kimmy immediately wiped her tears while sniffing.

'What's wrong?" Cain worriedly asked. Kimmy did not respond and just continued to wipe the tears that were so stubborn and would not stop from flowing.

"Oh God… I am sorry. You don't need to answer me right now, Kimberly. As I said, I am willing to wait. I'm so carried away that I forgot that I shouldn't say those words this early," Cain uttered. He held his breath, hoping he did not make good things between them turn bad because of his words. Kimmy still had trauma on marriage because of her parents, not to mention the family problems they were facing now.

'Why am I such an idiot!' Cain quietly grunted.

"I don't know why there are tears. Nothing's wrong. Maybe it's just emotions suddenly rushing through me. I'm feeling happy to hear you love me and you want to marry me," Kimmy whispered, sniffing.

"I wanted to marry you, but I'm honestly scared, Cain," Kimmy opened up. She wanted Cain to know what she truly felt. She did want to marry him, yet the fear in her system was still there. She was still feeling scared.

Cain could not help himself for heaving a sigh of relief, hearing Kimmy's explanation. He pulled her for another warm embrace, and Kimmy hugged him back tightly as she whispered, "I… Cain… I"

Kimmy did not know what to say. She wanted to say it, but she could not continue and was hating herself for it. It's just a simple 'Yes, I want to marry you' but why couldn't she do it?

"As I said, I will wait, Kimberly, you don't need to answer me now," Cain whispered while he gave Kimmy light and loving kisses on her face.

"Thank you," Kimmy timidly answered. She was scolding herself quietly, but she was glad that Cain was a very understanding man. Now she could see why her mother was so devoted to making Cain her husband before.

She hugged Cain tightly, and she felt his warm embrace back.

"Kimberly," Cain whispered in her ear.

"Yup," Kimmy whispered back, but it was followed by soft moans when Cain suddenly moved inside of her while he licked and nibbled her earlobe. They were still linked to each other, and Cain's member was still inside of her. And he was hard again, pulling her hips, guiding its movements back and forth. And they ended up doing it again… Love-making…

After another mind-blowing lovemaking, the couple just stayed on the bed for some time, cuddling each other.

"I have an appointment later. Do you want to come? It's Harry who I will meet. I promise I will treat him nicely," Cain commented.

Kimmy furrowed her forehead. She raised her head to look at Cain with questioning eyes, wondering why he had an appointment with Harry.

"It's about the Lewis Group. The investment company I approved was Cha Group, and Harry was the representative to have a meeting with me," Cain explained.

"Oh, that's great. Cha Group is honestly one of the best worldwide, and they are trustworthy. Lewis Hospitals and the expansion will be in good hands," Kimmy commented with a smile.

"But I can't come since I need to have dinner with the family later. Besides, Father will come, and uncle Lucas would at most throw punches at him, so I need to be there and help mom control the situation," Kimmy added.

Uncle Lucas asked for dinner, and her father would come and take that opportunity to apologize to the family. Or if he won't, it was still better she dined with the family, especially her mother, during these challenging times. 𝒇𝗿𝙚ℯ𝑤ℯ𝑏𝒏𝑜ѵe𝙡.c𝐨ｍ

"I understand. Will you be sleeping in the palace for some days?" Cain asked.

"Yup, I will… Also, I will help mom and Brione, so I won't be able to assist you. Is that okay?" Kimmy informed him. It was now time for her to decide and pursue what she wanted to do in her life, including a career. For now, she wanted to help the royal family as a part of it with various matters involving duties for the royal family.

"Alright, I understand. Ah, I honestly want you to stick with me at all times, but I want to be a cool boyfriend so I won't be clingy and let you do all the things you want. I will support you as always, Kimberly, but whenever I miss you, I might end up stalking you…"

Kimmy chuckled and buried her face at the crook of Cain's neck as she whispered, "Well, you can stalk me forever as you want."

She was unable to see how Cain's face lit up to her words. His smile almost reached his ears. Kimmy said forever… and that only meant that she could already see him as part of her forever.

She was in a broken state, and Cain knew Kimmy would soon overcome her fears because he would help her. He moved and raised his body on the bed. Kimmy did the same and sat on the bed as she pulled the quilt to cover her chest. She watched Cain open the drawer of the bedside table. He already had a ring for her. That ring he longed to give her beforehand when they were supposed to get married. Cain grabbed a box and opened it to get the necklace with a pendant of the ring.

"This is supposed to be the engagement ring I wanted to give you years back, but I put it in this necklace as a pendant. I want to give it to you, and when you're ready to answer me, then you can just wear the ring anytime," Cain said with a bashful smile.

"Put it on me," she said as she turned her back on him and fixed her hair up with her hand so Cain could lock the necklace to her neck.

Cain put it on her, and Kimberly turned back to face Cain and whispered, "thank you."

She then looked at the diamond ring and touched it, whispering, "it's beautiful."

"You're more beautiful than any beautiful things in this world, Kimberly," Cain said with eyes staring at Kimmy filled with love.

Kimmy's face reddened as she whispered, "stop that. It's making me want to try this ring to see if it still fits me since it's been years already when you bought this!"

Cain chuckled and said, "I'm sure it will fit you, my Princess! Why not try it now, and I will marry you this instant!"

Kimmy wrinkled her nose and said, "hmm, I might try it but not with you around hahaha hahaha!"

"Ah, that's so unfair!" Cain said as he pounced on Kimmy, who screamed, laughing because Cain was poking her sides.

Kimmy liked their set-up right now, and she was enjoying every moment she was having with Cain. Kimmy vowed to herself inwardly that she would not take long in giving Cain an answer. She would work hard on her fear and inferiority issues regarding marriage, not only for Cain or her mother but primarily for herself.
