Chapter 26 -26: Establishing Own Portal
“Sophia, could you repeat what you just said?” Mureya looked in disbelief at the blonde dragonkin girl in front of him.
“Young Master Mureya, hard to believe, but it’s true. Archmage Atris has decided to revoke your living rights in the castle. Please, with your pets, move out of the castle by today.” Head maid Sophia said earnestly.
“So you mean, my mother is going to kick me out?”
“If that’s how you understand, you are not wrong.”
“Why?” Mureya couldn’t figure out why. His mother was the Benevolent Dragon, the Golden Dragon, not some evil dragon. Why would she decide to expel her own young from her castle?
The head maid didn’t say anything, but shifted her gaze towards the corner of the room, where six young dragons were fast asleep.
Following Sophia’s gaze, Mureya immediately understood. A month ago, after Mureya had teased the young dragons for a while, he finally got impatient and used his four-ring spell, Lightning Sphere, which was reinforced by his bloodline.
The four young dragons each took a hard hit. Despite their defensive power as dragons, they could only resist a small part of the damage. That day, the four young dragons were reminded of their fear of Mureya’s thunder.
Since that day, all the young dragons have been obedient, doing whatever Mureya said, except for one thing: they had to “admire” the Golden Dragon Mother’s collection every day, swallowing in covetous anticipation.
Even though the young dragons knew these treasures would never belong to them, they wandered around the Crystal Castle every day, touching and looking. Mureya had no doubt that if the defensive array set by Golden Dragon Mother wasn’t strong enough, thefts would occur daily in the castle.
Mureya didn’t know what to do about it. He couldn’t keep these young dragons in the room all the time; after all, they were Red Dragons, their wisdom equal to or even surpassing humans.
So, the current situation happened. Dragon mother Atreus, the Golden Dragon, couldn’t tolerate six young dragons eying her collection every day in her castle. At first, she was pleased with this, but as time went on, she grew intolerant.
These six young dragons not only salivated over the Golden Dragon Mother’s collection but also often cuddled with it, occasionally licking it. If it weren’t for Mureya’s strong suppression, the six young dragons would stay on the crystal platform to sleep, embracing these precious collections.
Up to now, Golden Dragon Mother Atreus, whose tolerance had reached its limit, decided to expel all six young dragons from the Crystal Castle. Her anger also spread to Mureya, the feeder of these six young dragons and her own offspring. Then, Mureya received the notice from head maid Sophia.
“At the beginning, she was the one who asked me to raise these evil dragons. Now she wants to kick me out because of them.” Mureya frowned and bitterly said, “Plus, according to the standards of the Dragon Race, I’m still a child, not even a teenager yet.”
“Young Master Mureya, about this, Archmage Atris has something to say to you.” Head maid Sophia cleared her throat and then imitated Golden Dragon Mother’s tone.
“Little Muria, you’re already thirteen this year. At this age, if you were a human, you could marry and have children. You could live independently. And you, as the son of me, Atreus Alonsus, will absolutely not be worse than a human. So, you should leave the castle and establish your independence!”
After finishing, head maid Sophia looked at Mureya, whose mouth corner quivered slightly, with a bit of sympathy.
“Ha ha,” was the only noise Mureya made, vividly expressing his dissatisfaction.
“Let’s go then, having left the Crystal Castle, I can live more freely.” Mureya frowned, walking towards the six young dragons huddled and sleeping together, kicking them awake one by one.
“What are you doing? Mureya, I’m not done sleeping.” Young dragon Jessica yawned and said slightly resentfully.
“Who’s sleeping? I have no place here anymore, and neither do you. Come with me.”
“Leave? Where to?” Young dragon Albert asked curiously.
“Leave this Crystal Castle and go outside to build a castle of my own.”
“Leave this castle?” Cynthia exclaimed, “Are you joking? I’m not leaving, this is my home, I would rather die than leave.”
“Is it so?” Mureya with a stern face, a golden thunderbolt appeared in his hand, “If it weren’t for you pathetic dragons, I wouldn’t have been implicated and driven out by my mother. Now, I ask you one last time, will you go or not?”
Looking at the golden thunderbolt in Mureya’s hand, the young dragons, who had suffered a lot, immediately understood. They nodded their heads like pecking chickens, agreeing. Even rebellious Auston was the same. If they didn’t agree, they had no doubt that Mureya would turn them into dragon-shaped charcoal, and then drag them away.
Mureya had nothing to pack, except for his six dragons and the clothes he wore, clothes that could adjust size along with him. Beyond that, he did not own any personal belongings.
“Young master Mureya, Archmage Atris has commanded that any creature on this island willing to follow you can be taken with you.” As Mureya was leaving his room, Sophia suddenly spoke up. “Additionally, you can always return to borrow any book from the library.”
Hearing this, Mureya paused for a moment, nodded, and then walked out of sight, leading his six young dragons with him.
When Mureya arrived at the castle’s main gate, he heard a very familiar voice.
“Young master Mureya, wait for me.” A very well-proportioned dragonkin girl chased after him.
“Mia.” Mureya smiled, “What are you chasing after me for?”
“When I heard you were leaving, as your personal maid, of course I had to go with you!” The girl retorted as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Okay, you come with me.” Mureya reluctantly agreed. He then looked at the twenty-four Cloud Titan Guards kneeling before him and issued his own command: “Go notify all the giants on the island, tell them that from today, I, Mureya Iapertos Elonsas, am striking out on my own. I will be waiting at the martial arts field for any giant willing to follow me until the sun sets.”
The twenty-four Cloud Titan Guards were initially puzzled, but quickly transformed into expressions of ecstatic excitement: “In compliance with your will, your Highness Mureya.”
They then rose, disregarding their task of guarding the castle gate, and without hesitation, they harnessed their magical abilities for flight. Each one split off in different directions, heading to various gathering places of giants across the island, delivering Mureya’s message.
When Mureya, along with his six young dragons and personal maid Mia, arrived at the martial arts field, he was stunned by the sight before him.
The martial arts field was completely filled with giants; Cloud Giants, Storm Giants, Mountain Giants, Tidal Giants… Families of Giants had gathered in the field. It was wholly awe-inspiring.
What shocked Mureya even more was when these giants noticed his arrival, they all knelt down before him, like a gust of wind sweeping a wheat field. Men, women, old, young, tall, short, fat, all knelt.
Mureya stared at the sight in front of him for a long time. Although he had experienced a scene even grander than this when he was just five years old, he was standing so high then that he only saw an ocean of heads. The close-up view this time was even more shocking.
In the kneeling crowd of giants, a straight path was made leading directly to the highest place in the martial arts field with a stone throne overseeing the entire scene.
With an inexplicable feeling, Mureya took the path and walked towards the throne. Mia followed closely behind, the six young dragons dutifully trailing Mureya. They were well-behaved and did not cause any mischief; they too were astonished by the view. Their inherited knowledge had nothing about this scene.
Finally, Mureya reached the highest point of the martial arts field and sat on the throne. He looked down on the many giants kneeling down. By his side, the pretty, young Mia stood attentively. At his feet, the six young dragons lay prostrate. For a fleeting moment, a sense of satisfaction and pride filled him, replacing the displeasure he felt from being expelled by his own mother.
“Everyone, rise!” Mureya uttered his first words after arriving at the martial arts field. After all the giants had stood up, he continued, “Please be patient and wait. Wait for every giant willing to follow me to arrive.”
Sitting in the highest position, Mureya could see further. From all corners of the island, male giants, along with their wives and children, were gravitating towards the martial arts field. At the seas near the island, one Tidal Giant after another, broke through the sea and stepped onto the land…
Following the Tidal Giants, a multitude of oceanic creatures—Nagas, sea sirens, mermaids— trailed. Many of them were incapable of coming ashore.
“Titans!” Mureya whispered, awestruck, realizing the root cause of the impressive scene before him was the pure Titan blood flowing within him.
Strictly speaking, Titans also belonged to the Giant Clan; they were the most powerful branch. To the rest of the giant races, Titans held a particular significance.
“Evolution.” Mureya murmured. He had researched this topic in the Golden Dragon Lady’s library. Like the dragons, the Titans, over a long period of time, through the power they emitted, subtly transformed their surroundings into environments most suitable for them.
But the influence of powerful dragons did not stop there; their aura could even affect the creatures living around them, causing a phenomenon called dragonization.
The Dragon maids in the Golden Dragon Lady’s Crystal Castle were examples of this; they were once ordinary human girls, but were affected by the Golden Dragon Lady’s aura and caused dragonization to occur, transforming from humans into non-human creatures, an evolution of their life essence.
Most of the low-level dragon beasts in Elasia originated this way; they or their ancestors were infected by the dragons’ power, and thus inherited the weak Dragon Vein power, making them different from the rest. As for high-level dragon beasts, they were intentionally created by the dragons.
Just as the aura of a dragon could infect mortal things around them, causing an evolution in their life essence. Titans had a similar, but much stronger power, their aura could help giants, who had already reached their life’s limit, break through their shackles and even increase their life limit, becoming stronger.
