King of the Wilderness-Chapter 180 - 144: Chaotic Scene? Not a Thing.
The arrival of family brought true human warmth to the woodland for the first time.
To celebrate Aliya and the children’s arrival, and to officially introduce the mistress of the house to the neighbors in Wiseman, Lin Yu’an decided to host a grand welcome party.
This suggestion immediately received enthusiastic support from Aliya and Bo.
The entire camp suddenly became busy. After familiarizing herself with every corner of the kitchen, Aliya began to compile a lavish menu based on the available ingredients.
Lin Yu’an harvested most of the cucumbers and tomatoes from the vegetable greenhouse, using some for the feast and others as gifts for the neighbors, as a small token of gratitude for their help with the house construction.
She even took out a few bottles of homemade specialty jams and honey from Montana Farm from her luggage.
Bo, who was more interested in machinery, followed Lin Yu’an’s suggestion and together they built a primitive outdoor BBQ grill on the open ground in front of the log cabin using leftover timber pieces and a massive iron mesh.
While fastening the wooden frame with an impact driver, Bo laughed and said, "Hey, Lin! I bet our BBQ grill can roast a whole lamb!"
Lin Yu’an picked up the satellite phone and individually invited the neighbors who had helped him.
"Stan, it’s me, Lin. Aliya and the children have arrived. The night after tomorrow, there will be BBQ and good wine at home, you must come."
"George, it’s me... yes, they’ve arrived. The night after tomorrow, I’ll open a bottle of Moutai that you didn’t have enough of last time, and don’t let your drinking capacity make you late."
"Cody, Hank, Buck... The night after tomorrow, come to the house for dinner!" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Finally, he dialed Emily’s number.
"Emily, it’s Lin. My family has arrived, and there will be a party at home the night after tomorrow, I hope you can come."
On the other end, Emily was silent for a few seconds before softly replying, "Alright, I’ll be there."
On the day of the party, at dusk, the entire "woodland" was brightly lit.
A huge bonfire blazed in the center of the yard, and the newly-built BBQ grill was sizzling with a plump reindeer sponsored by Hunter Buck, filling the air with fragrance.
Neighbors arrived one after another in their pickups or ATVs, bringing their homemade beer, smoked salmon, and various refreshing salads.
Stan was the first to arrive; he jumped off the pickup and handed Lin Yu’an something wrapped in oilcloth: "Lin, these are freshly smoked king crab legs for your wife and kids to try."
Old George followed closely behind, bringing not only a large tub of potato salad but also lugging a case of his treasured bourbon whiskey.
"Tonight, nobody can leave sober!" His booming voice echoed in the valley.
Hank, Buck, and Cody also arrived one after another; almost all the core tough men of Wiseman Town were present.
A lively Alaskan-style party officially began.
The men naturally gathered around the BBQ grill and bonfire, each holding an ice-cold beer, boasting loudly and discussing hunting and machinery.
Aliya became the focus of another group. As she came out of the log cabin holding her daughter Olivia, even these tough men who had seen much hardship softened their gazes involuntarily.
"Oh, my God, look at this little angel!"
Old George was the first to come up, carefully extending his rough, calloused palm to gently touch Olivia’s chubby cheek.
"Her eyes... Lin, they are just like your wife’s! Like the clearest lake in Wiseman’s spring!"
"Yes, Ethan too." Aliya smiled, and Bo timely brought out their son.
Everyone gathered around, exclaiming in admiration.
"These two little guys are really sturdy!"
"Look at this hair, so black and thick like Lin’s. But these eyes are Aliya’s. Truly a perfect combination!"
Emily was the last to arrive, bringing a homemade apple pie.
When she saw Aliya and the two children surrounded by people, her steps hesitated for just a moment before she smiled and walked over.
Aliya sat with her daughter and the only other female guest at the party, Emily, on the warm porch rocking chair, chatting softly.
Whiskey and Honey lay quietly at their feet, occasionally nudging their young master’s swaddle with their heads.
"Your daughter is so beautiful; her eyes are just like yours."
Emily looked at Olivia’s light green eyes, identical to Aliya’s, and sincerely praised.
"Thank you, your eyes are beautiful too, like charming blue sapphires."
Then Emily’s gaze fell on the two children and seemed unable to look away.
She seemed to genuinely love children; when Olivia stretched out her little hand, she immediately extended her finger for her to grasp, showing an extremely gentle maternal glow.
"They... are so adorable." Emily’s voice was somewhat low.
This statement seemed to touch something deep inside her, dimming her gaze for a moment before she quickly returned to normal.
They chatted about funny parenting stories and shared pet care experiences, with Emily even providing some very professional advice on how to care for babies during teething, making the atmosphere warm and harmonious.
