Chapter 590: Chapter 311: Some Surprises

"You really fascinate me, Pene," Adrian said with a light laugh as he held the girl in his arms, bathed in the morning sunlight, his hand continuously roaming over the smooth body beneath the blanket.

"Really? Can you be more specific?" Penelope asked with a provocative smile as she lay on her side, her lazy demeanor making her even more enticing.

"Here, here, and here..." Adrian’s fingers traced her lips, cheeks, neck, and breasts, finally resting between her legs.

"Hey, did you not torment me enough last night?" Penelope immediately scolded as she pushed his hand away, then laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck, "I must admit, Ed, you are the best man I’ve ever met."

"Thank you, many women have said the same," Adrian caressed her cheek, "but you say it most charmingly. Can I hear it again in the future?"

"Many men forget their sweet nothings after they succeed. Will you be like that?" Penelope quickly retorted.

"It seems I need to teach you a lesson, Pene. I want to show you that your worries are completely unnecessary." Adrian immediately rolled over and pinned her beneath him.

"Wait, Ed, you’ve already..." Penelope attempted to resist, but the strength she had exhausted the night before hadn’t yet returned, and Adrian gave her no chance, so her screams were quickly replaced by moans.

Undoubtedly, this stunning Spanish woman had targeted him from the start, otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken him home after just a few words and started rolling in the sheets, which was typical of her nature—Miracle Director and Hollywood, enough to make any woman wanting to make a mark here choose accordingly. Although usually, the unattainable is the most desirable, for a playboy like Adrian, who had seduced countless women, this approach was not particularly effective, unless he could precisely grasp the emotional fluctuations; hence it’s better to engage deeply from the start.

Penelope was clearly very confident in herself. In fact, she performed outstandingly, driving Adrian to distraction, but she underestimated his stamina and ultimately failed to outlast him. Thus, Adrian didn’t hesitate to hint to her that, although he had experienced plenty of Latin flavors, he had never enjoyed the taste of Spain, adding another type to his collection.

It’s unclear whether she approached Bandaras first last night, or if Bandaras approached her. If it was the former, it didn’t matter, but if the latter... no worries, Adrian had prepared a movie to offer Leighton a little treat, with Bandaras playing an important role—using what originally belonged to the other person as leverage.

Of course, Adrian didn’t view Penelope entirely as a collectible, but observing her for a while was necessary. As previously mentioned, as his influence grew, more women would approach him for benefits, and Penelope was a typical example. Besides, he had a genuine treasure waiting for him; if he didn’t act fast, it might become outdated.

"It’s really not fair, why can you move out, and I have to wait another year?" the young man paced around the bedroom, lamenting, "When can I have my own house?"

"Because I’m an adult and I also have a job," Jessica came over and gently knocked on his head as she laughed, "Moreover, this house is rented, not bought."

"I know, dear sister, I just think... maybe I could move in and live with you," the young man chuckled and said to Jessica, hope shining in his eyes which resembled hers closely.

"Don’t even think about it, Joshua, even if I agreed, Dad would personally come and ’pluck’ you back home," Jessica said bluntly, emphasizing the word ’pluck’ heavily.

The young man in front of her, who bore a striking resemblance to her, was her younger brother, Joshua Alba. Because he was frail as a child, Jessica often stayed home to recuperate, and although Joshua was a year younger, he always found ways to cheer up his sister, resulting in their close relationship. However, precisely because of this, most of their father’s strict demands fell on Joshua, causing him to harbor a deep fear of their father. That’s why he couldn’t help making such requests, even though he knew they were impossible.

"Alright, alright, I got it," Joshua sighed, then reminded her, "Don’t forget, there are only ten days until Christmas. Remember to prepare gifts for Mom and Dad."

He then snickered mischievously, "Don’t think you can escape it just because you’ve moved out, my sister."

"I know," Jessica retorted, both annoyed and amused, knocking him on the head before dragging him to the door and kicking him out.

Watching her brother leave from the doorway, Jessica then returned to the house, sighed, and sat down at the round table, starting to worry about the upcoming Christmas. It wasn’t that she was troubled about what to get their parents—as she knew their tastes well—her worry was about how to face her father.

Ever since Jessica could remember, her father rarely smiled, always maintaining a military demeanor. Despite the fact that Jessica and Joshua often received praise from teachers at school, they seldom heard any praise from their father at home. Mistakes were met with harsh criticism. Thankfully, their mother was always gentle and took good care of them, and their father listened to her, otherwise, she and her brother might have been unable to bear it.

It wasn’t until Jessica started playing the lead role in "Dark Angel" and was nearing adulthood that their father gradually loosened his control. This was one reason why she had wanted to become an actress since she was very young, and why she now enjoyed parties. Every trip home was both joyful and depressing, even though their father had eased up a lot.

Oh, really, why can’t Dad be humorous and understanding like Ed? This thought suddenly popped into Jessica’s head, and she immediately coughed.

Damn it, why did I think of him again? The young woman felt despondent but couldn’t stop reminiscing about their various moments together, especially those in New Zealand.

It was an acknowledged fact that she had been quite unattractive as a child. She often faced teasing from other children at school, and while adults might call her cute, nobody said she was pretty. Even after starring in "Dark Angel," the focus was more on her physique and the female-led sci-fi drama than her looks, so Jessica always felt somewhat insecure about her appearance.

Adrian was the first man to actually prove to her that she was an attractive girl. With age and physical development, the odd ugliness of her childhood had gradually disappeared. Although she could not be considered strikingly beautiful, she did possess some charm, and it wasn’t as if no one pursued her. However, when they complimented her looks and she asked which aspects were pretty, they either couldn’t specify or would shift the topic to her charisma or something else, or lay it on thick with sweet nothings. Only Adrian had provided facts, even suggesting make-up techniques to highlight her features.

"Always smile, your smile is like brilliant sunshine, vibrant and charming," Jessica still remembered his words to her.

But why did such an outstanding man have to be a playboy? Jessica, lying face down on the table, sighed again. When she first heard the rumors about Adrian, she didn’t believe them much. Maybe he had relationships with a few women, but so what? Which man here wasn’t like that? Jessica wasn’t particularly clever, but having started acting at the age of eleven, she knew a bit about these things.

But that night, after secretly witnessing Adrian make love with Alexander Ambrosio, whom he had only recently met and got along well with, she realized the rumors were definitely true, and much of what Adrian had done with her was probably to charm her into bed, though he was gentle, understanding, and respectful towards her.

So even though Jessica made her judgment, she couldn’t harbor much resentment towards Adrian. Back in New Zealand, that tender kiss still lingered in her memory. More importantly, Adrian had the chance to undress her and take her to bed that night, and she wouldn’t have resisted, but he controlled himself and left hastily.

Shouldn’t I be planning a Christmas surprise for Mom and Dad instead of thinking about him? Jessica told herself, but it was no use, and another thought crossed her mind.

She took a deep breath and picked up her phone to call, "Hi, Ed, it’s me. Are you free tonight?"

"Okay, you win this time, Jessie. I have to admit, although their thick pancakes don’t look very appealing, they taste really good. I had no idea there were still eateries I didn’t know about." After leaving the street food stall, Adrian said while licking his fingers, his unimageable appearance making Jessie burst into laughter.

"You’re too arrogant, Ed. Even if you’re familiar with Los Angeles, there’s no way you know every block," Jessica’s eyes curved like crescents, "I might not know as much as you, but I know things you don’t."

"It’s not arrogance; it’s confidence. If I didn’t have this confidence, would I still be me—okay, where to next?" Adrian first put on a proud air but quickly shifted the topic with a smile, the changing colors of his face once again making Jessica laugh uncontrollably.

"Alright, let’s go to Ferster Street. It’s not even nine yet; it must be lively there now." Jessica, in a good mood, let Adrian off the hook.

They had a delightful evening, walking around, chatting, and playing together, fully indulging themselves until Adrian dropped Jessica off outside her house.

"It was a pleasant night. It was the right decision to cancel my evening plans and come out with you," Adrian said after they stopped the car.

Jessica smiled and then grabbed his hand, gazing into his eyes as she blinked gently, "Why not come inside my house?"

"Oh?" After a long moment, Adrian asked in a light tone, yet it carried an intense feeling that quickened the heartbeat.

The young lady didn’t respond, instead she stood tall, locking eyes with him, and then...

"Do you like it?" Jessica asked breathlessly, her cheeks blushing so much they seemed to drip, looking charmingly beautiful.

"It’s surprising, Jessie; this gift is really great." After their intimate moment had passed, Adrian teased while cuddling with Jessica.

"You don’t... you don’t... you don’t think I’m silly?" Jessica asked somewhat haltingly, her expression joyful. After the initial pain, under Adrian’s nurturing, she quickly adapted and experienced the pleasure of making love for the first time. She noticed all his gentle moves, made to help her relax and enjoy.

"Of course not. For every man, being given a girl’s first night is definitely a matter of pride. It sufficiently proves how much... she loves him," Adrian said softly.

The fingers that were continuously drawing circles on his chest suddenly stopped. Jessica raised her head and hesitantly asked in a soft voice, "Do you have many women, Ed?"

"Yes." After a few seconds of silence, Adrian stroked her hair as he spoke.

"Then..." Seeing that he wasn’t angry or having any severe reaction, Jessica tentatively asked: "Are there also many like me, fooled by your sweet words, and then... gave their first night to you?"

"That really saddens me. Is that how you see our relationship?" Adrian exclaimed exaggeratedly, but his eyes remained tender as he watched Jessica.

"Yeah, yeah, real playboys are passionate about every relationship, just each relationship is short-lived." Jessica rolled her eyes as she spoke, but leaned more into his embrace.

"Can I call you ’Playboy Identifier,’ Jessie?" Adrian laughed heartily.

The fingers on his chest promptly formed a fist and punched him lightly, but Jessica then sighed softly.

"I love you, Ed, but I also don’t love you," she murmured, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I’m sorry." Adrian also sighed, but was quickly silenced by Jessica’s finger on his lips.

"It’s okay; I’m still happy. At least my first time was with someone I love," she said with a smile, "There were others who pursued me before, but I rejected them all, though sometimes I did regret it, feeling embarrassed that I hadn’t experienced sex until now. Now it seems, it was worth it."

Jessica rested her forehead on Adrian’s chin, "But I won’t cling to you, although you hold an important place in my heart, Ed, you are not my... maybe this is the best outcome for both you and me."

Adrian continued to stroke Jessie’s hair, staying silent for a long time before finally letting out a heavy sigh, then suddenly pushing Jessica back down beneath him.

"At least, for the next few hours, you are still mine, right?" he said with a smile.

"I’m still a bit sore though," Jessica frowned, but it was clear she was pretending, especially given the obvious bashfulness on her face.

"Don’t worry," Adrian laughed heartily and then showed a wicked grin, "There are many ways to give you pleasure, so don’t plan on getting out of bed tomorrow, Jessie. I promise!"

Once again, it proved that many things don’t always go as Adrian plans, even if he has prepared extensively, like Jessica initiating a date and willingly offering herself, stating that this was enough for both. It was a headache indeed but not insurmountable for Adrian. He always found a way, particularly noticing Jessica’s subtle hints.

Adrian wouldn’t repeat the same mistakes—things were as they were. Subconsciously ignoring them due to certain reasons had proven to be extremely foolish. However, it seemed he wouldn’t be able to touch Jessica for a long time and needed to figure out a way since whatever she was planning that night was indeed a genuine showing of emotion, so it was certainly worth cherishing.
