King of Hollywood-Chapter 547 - 268 of The Lord of the Rings
Chapter 547: Chapter 268 of The Lord of the Rings
"Thank you to the judges, I’m just so thankful. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed of standing here more than once...." Christina stood at the podium, holding up the golden record, giving her acceptance speech with excitement. For any singer, especially those developing their careers in the United States, winning a Grammy is a very prestigious honor.
Of course, after thanking a whole list of people, she didn’t forget to express her gratitude to Adrian, "Thank you, Mr. Adrian, for discovering me, for always encouraging and supporting me, thank you, I really appreciate it!"
The camera inevitably turned to Adrian several times. He maintained a smile and applauded, then glanced at Britney sitting not too far away out of the corner of his eye. The young girl’s expression of disappointment was clearly visible, without any attempt to hide it. In fact, she had looked like this ever since the winner of the Best New Artist was announced.
It wasn’t surprising, even though both had several other nominations and there were quite a few conflicts, both Christina and Britney knew that the Best New Artist was the most important to them. Even though the Grammys tend to be more flexible and more eccentric compared to the Oscars, sometimes shifting entirely one way or another, seniority still matters everywhere.
After all, the members of the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences are from all over the music industry, just like the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. So, even though Christina and Britney had other nominations like Best Song, the chances of winning were very slim. Of course, the real competition was for the Best New Artist award.
"This is really embarrassing, Master." That night, Britney and Adrian were entwined in the large bed in the bedroom for a long time, until she was worn out from the activity, then she lay on his chest and spoke with a tone of dissatisfaction.
This was the young girl’s villa, and after Adrian had taken care of her parents, Britney immediately moved out, to a place not far from his mansion. If she hadn’t been worried about the paparazzi, she might have moved directly into Adrian’s house.
"It’s nothing, this is very normal, Britney. You see, even I didn’t win the awards I wanted until after receiving countless nominations, right?" Adrian comforted her, pinching her chin.
"It’s not the same, you’re my Master, you get any award you want," Britney pouted a bit, both coquettish and pleasing, looking very cute under the dim bedside lamp.
"Don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future," Adrian reassured her as he stroked her body.
"But, this was my first time, and I also..." Britney hesitated but finally brought it out, "And I lost to Kristen."
Adrian immediately burst into laughter, "Finally speaking your mind? What’s the matter with that, Britney? Although you lost the Best New Artist award, you won me, didn’t you?"
Stunned for a moment, Britney then giggled, wrapped her arms around Adrian’s neck, and affectionately kissed him, "She must have seen us when you took me away from Kristen’s celebration party. I think her face must have been very interesting."
As she spoke, her breathing became heavy again, and she kissed his neck over and over, "Let’s do it again, Master."
"As you wish, my darling, I will fulfill all your requests tonight," Adrian said, returning the kiss with a smile, letting out a soft sigh in his heart before once again throwing himself into the passionate embrace.
Clearly, at the Grammys, it seemed Britney was set to repeat "the old ways" of before. In this year’s Grammy competition, the public relations teams that Adrian had arranged for them were nearly the same, and ultimately, "still," it was Christina who won the Best New Artist award. The mindsets of the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences are not so easily changed, and Britney would face discrimination for a long time.
The Grammys always have a certain disdain for young, beautiful, and very popular female singers. Once they’re labeled as such, it becomes very difficult for them to turn the tide, even Madonna hasn’t won a Best Female Singer to this day. Of course, there were many reasons why Britney lost to Christina.
Christina’s singing talent was indeed impressive, which would certainly earn her points with the Grammy judges. Plus, Britney did rely on electronic music more than other singers. More importantly, Adrian’s influence in music wasn’t as great as it was in film, even though he could play a few instruments, piano pieces in particular quite well, and had concocted some good songs for Britney and Christina, he had never personally been involved in music production.
But that wasn’t too big a deal. If a certain plan worked out, maybe he couldn’t affect the Grammys the way he could with the Oscars, but his say would definitely carry more weight than it did now. Of course, Britney herself had to work hard, like learning to write her own music and lyrics. Developing into a singer-songwriter, to some extent, would also earn her extra points.
It’s just that her resilience still needed improvement. Despite Adrian teaching her a lot, such inherent weaknesses weren’t so easily remedied. Don’t think that he had only taught her things like personal hygiene. Besides that, Adrian had instilled in Britney a lot about improving her taste and showcasing her style, slowly influencing her in such a way that made her easier to manipulate.
And speaking of which, that was a good thing too. It allowed Britney to place her heart entirely with him. Well, regardless, all this was for the future. Even to influence the Grammys, it would have to wait until after his influence on the Oscars had peaked.
The night of the Grammys, after being with Britney, naturally the next day he had to spend time with Christina. You see, the night before, he had left her celebration party with Britney in front of so many people.
"I finally won the Best New Artist award, yet you left my party with Britney. Couldn’t you have considered my feelings?" Christina said to Adrian, who had come to visit, expressing her grievances.
Although she was voicing her discontent, her tone wasn’t very forceful. After all, Christina was not like Britney. Even though she was brainwashed by Adrian as well, she was a year older and didn’t have as many flaws in her character, so her interactions with Adrian contained many other elements, not like Britney who almost regarded herself as Adrian’s pet.
"This is indeed my fault, Christina. I apologize," Adrian said with a smile, embracing her, "But as the winner, you should also consider the feelings of the loser, right?"
Christina pursed her lips and looked up at him, then suddenly smiled widely and nodded: "Yes, Britney’s had it tough too. We can’t go beating down her fragile heart after losing Best New Artist."
There was still a hint of reluctance in her tone, and given her following words, it was clear what she was thinking. So, without any hesitation, Adrian silenced her with his lips, teasing and tantalizing her until he finally let her go.
"So, what do you want to do today? Wherever we go, I’ll be by your side; today I’m your chauffeur," Adrian said, showering her with kisses.
"Even if we turn the reporters’ speculation into reality?" Christina asked suddenly, a playful edge to her voice.
"No problem, as long as you wish it," Adrian laughed heartily.
Because of Christina’s speech at the Grammys, tabloids smelled blood in the water and began speculating about their relationship. They puzzled over whether to include her among the Miracle Girls, who until then had all been movie stars. However, most took such gossip as the lowest sort, the kind to be forgotten after a glance.
Long before this, when Christina was promoting her new album, the media under AC Media had detailed coverage on her past, including her time in the Mickey Mouse Club and being signed and developed by Adrian just before the group’s dissolution, with Britney receiving similar treatment. This was all very positive, aiming to highlight how exceptional Adrian’s vision was for music as well, and with that preconceived notion in place, the gossip was just gossip.
"Okay, let me think how I want to spend today, to completely drain all your energy," Christina said with a laugh, rolling off the bed and provocatively straddling Adrian’s legs.
The sense of being cherished and safe quickly surged in her heart. Before this, she had felt it when Adrian signed her and encouraged her, but after sleeping together, it became even more intense. Thus, sometimes Christina would entertain the thought that "actually, this is pretty good." No wonder, considering she too had a troubled childhood and... a hot-tempered, irresponsible father!
It had to be admitted that it was a rather interesting matter. Although Adrian’s women were numerous, and basically all mixed up with emotion, desire, and interest, most of those closest to him belonged to this type. Certainly, not every woman was like that; each had their own personality. At present, for example, there was a girl by his side who verbally said, "I hate you," while her body was exceptionally cooperative.
"I hate you, Adrian! You bastard...mmm... take your hands off me! Damn it... you seduced me, I’m going to kill you... Stop, this is rape..."
"You... you bastard..." Even so, having slumped on the sofa, the young girl still muttered just that.
"You really are stubborn, Innie," Adrian held her in his arms while tenderly and teasingly saying.
The powerless Ivanka glared at him hatefully. After a good while, she finally regained some strength, then pushed Adrian away and struggled to get up to start tidying her clothes. Adrian said nothing, sitting on the sofa and watching Ivanka with appreciative eyes, as the beautiful and tempting half-naked body was slowly covered by clothing, piece by piece.
"Have you had enough of looking?" Ivanka, irritated by the presence of the annoying person beside her, couldn’t fasten the strap behind her bra after several attempts, and immediately directed her anger at Adrian.
"Of course not," Adrian said with a smile as he got up and began fastening her bra from behind, "You know, your bust shape is really quite lovely."
Ivanka turned back to glare at him ungratefully. She immediately revealed a smug, cold smile: "Oh, I almost forgot to give you some unfortunate news, Mr. Adrian. I forgot this is California."
"No, no, no, Innie," Adrian lifted his chin and wagged a finger, "You didn’t forget. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have come in so willingly when I brought you in from outside just now."
"What about it?" Ivanka’s smile became somewhat forced, "You should know that I have no responsibility in this matter, even if... even if... even if I took the initiative!"
Under Adrian’s gaze, she finally spit out the words.
"Yes, of course I know, but so what? You can’t talk about it," Adrian’s tone carried a rogue-like inflection, "Moreover, you weren’t just taking the initiative, you also enjoyed it... and craved it!"
Saying this, he leaned forward oppressively, holding down Ivanka’s shoulders and looking down on her, "Since that’s the case, how about we do it one more time?"
Ivanka’s cheeks turned alternately pale and red, suddenly pushing Adrian away furiously: "I hate you, Adrian! I despise you! It’s all your fault, you corrupted my father! You’re a complete pervert!"
With a fury that she couldn’t contain, she stormed towards the door, "I never want to see you again! Never!"
But Ivanka had barely reached the door when she stopped, fumbling at her bottom with an expression of difficulty, then turned her head around.
"Looking for this?" It was adorned with several Hello Kitty icons, quite adorable.
Ivanka’s cheeks instantly flamed red, and she hurried over, reaching out to snatch it back while growling, "Give it back to me!"
"That’s not going to happen," Adrian said, taking a step back and leisurely pocketing her underwear before speaking in all seriousness, "Since you’ve called me a pervert, I might as well do something a pervert would do."
The girl’s cheeks turned even redder, her lips quivering, as if she was about to cry, yet also on the verge of exploding. But in the end, she merely glared at Adrian fiercely and then swiftly left the room.
"You’ll regret this!" Ivanka threw back these words as she left.
After waiting a few more minutes, Adrian left the room to return to the still bustling drawing-room. It was the first time he was hosting a party at his house, inviting quite a few celebrities to attend. Trump had come all the way from New York especially to attend the recordings of "America’s Next Top Model" in Los Angeles, and he also was at the Grammy Awards ceremony, naturally making him one of the invited guests.
"I thought I saw Ivanka leaving in a huff just now. What happened?" After making a round, Adrian approached Trump, feigning concern.
"It’s nothing, just a minor issue," Trump sighed, devoid of any pretense, clearly still unaware that his precious daughter had not only slept with the man in front of him a few times but had even given him her virginity.
"You know, Innie has never liked me messing around outside. Now that I’ve finally found a suitable partner, she still won’t accept her," Trump said with frustration.
"Don’t worry, Don, I understand Ivanka’s feelings. After all, you are her most beloved father," the beautiful woman holding his arm said reassuringly, "I will make her gradually accept me."
"I believe you can do it, Mela," Trump said, patting the woman’s hand joyfully.
Melania Klauss, a model from Slovenia, under 30 years old, boasting beautiful brown hair, is now Trump’s official girlfriend. They reportedly met at the end of last month and quickly became inseparable. This woman with narrow eyes and a calculating look was no wonder Ivanka disliked her.
But this was perfect. Ivanka directing her dissatisfaction with her father towards him was telling enough, and Trump had, albeit unwittingly, given him a helping hand. Although he didn’t know how much longer it would take to make this proud little princess dance to his tune, everything was developing as anticipated, wasn’t it?
With the two awards ceremonies over, time moved into March. The Oscars ceremony at the end of the month was the most eye-catching event, followed by several movie releases that Adrian was keen on, but that was not the most important. After a long rest, he was to begin directing his new work.
"I’m sure everyone has read through the script several times by now. My plan is to use this year to complete the shooting of all three movies. Does anyone have any comments?" Seated at the head of the long table, Adrian asked this question. The office was the same one where he had arranged the matters related to the "Resident Evil" movie adaptation. This time it welcomed a more significant series, the first blockbuster Adrian was bringing to Universal — "The Lord of the Rings!" (To be continued.
