Keyboard Immortal-Chapter 2505: Threat
Chapter 2505: Threat
Zu An was stunned. He had been leisurely watching the show while wondering how the Lord of Slaughter would escape from this deathtrap. He hadn’t expected to be dragged into the conflict.
The monsters in the hall were taken aback. They turned toward the source of the voice and saw a man and a woman standing at the entrance.
The Monster Lord was taken aback to see the man. It’s Mojard?
Many years back, Mojard had been an expert who stood on the same pedestal as him. Even though the Monster Lord’s cultivation had advanced significantly in recent years, he was still wary of Mojard.
I thought he died against the Ocean races? Why is he here? He feels... different. He doesn’t have his usual confidence, and he looks much older.
Who is the woman next to him? Why is she looking at me with eyes filled with hatred? She looks familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it.
...
The other monsters were confused too.
“Brother Mo!” The Lord of Slaughter was delighted to see Mojard, but at the same time, he felt regret. Many years ago, Mojard had warned him about the Monster Lord’s swelling ambitions, but he'd thought that Mojard was merely trying to put down his rival and ignored him. It was only now that he understood who was truly loyal to him.
After hearing about the latter's tragic defeat to the Ocean races, he'd thought that Mojard was dead, so he was heartened to see the other party safe and sound.
“Incestuous King.” When he saw Mojard, the Monster Lord initially thought everything had gone wrong, but with a quick scan using his divine sense, he realized that the two of them had come here alone. On top of that, Mojard’s aura was extremely withered. That put his mind at ease. “I was worried sick when I heard about your defeat against the Ocean races. It’s good to see you safe and sound.”
“You scum. Drop your hypocritical act!” Mojard’s complexion looked terrible.
“Yes, you’re right. There’s no point continuing the act. I've been sick of it for a while.” The Monster Lord turned to the woman next to him and asked, “Who is this lady? She looks familiar.”
“Of course she looks familiar, for she is...” Mojard was about to reveal her identity when Salamay stopped him. Her coming from the future was a useful card, and she didn’t intend to squander it just like that.
Salamay looked at the Lord of Slaughter with a rapidly beating heart. After so many years, she was finally able to see her father once more. However, she suppressed her excitement and instead looked around while shouting, “I know you’re here. Let’s all die together if you refuse to come out.”
Zu An reverted to his human form and slowly emerged from the shadows. He made sure to wear a mask to avoid any complications in the future.
The Monster Generals were startled. They hadn’t noticed a human hiding there.
The Monster Lord was unsurprised. “I thought that master had an expert hidden in the shadows, but it looks like my worry was unfounded.”
He had been guarded against Zu An, worried that the latter would spring a surprise attack on him. That was why he hadn’t gone all out against the Lord of Slaughter. He was aware that this was the same person who had approached him for an alliance against the Lord of Slaughter.
Similarly, the Lord of Slaughter had thought that Zu An was the Monster Lord’s subordinate.
Due to their reservations, the two top experts had chosen not to reveal his existence despite both having noticed him.
Zu An ignored the two monsters and instead addressed Salamay with an awful look on his face. “How did you escape? Where’s the princess?”
Her presence here suggested that something had happened to Suolun Shi. To avoid affecting history, he took care not to reveal Suolun Shi’s name.
“That foolish woman is in my hands,” Salamay replied with a gleeful smile. “And why are you only worried about her? You should also be worried about the others. You haven’t been able to contact them, right?”
Zu An was taken aback. He hadn't received any messages from Pei Mianman, Ji Xiaoxi, and the others for quite a while. Ji Xiaoxi has Jiang Luofu and Yun Yuqing with her, so they should have no trouble protecting themselves.
That thought allowed him to calm down a little. “You’re trying to trick me. I won’t fall for it.”
“You can believe whatever you want to. Just don’t regret it when the time comes.” Salamay was in no hurry to explain herself. She seemed to be confident.
Zu An frowned. Could she have something to do with Manman’s disappearance?

“Give me more details, and I’ll decide whether to help or not.”
Salamay’s expression turned cold. “You don’t have a choice, whether it’s for your lovers or to ensure that everything... corresponds with the future.”
Zu An understood what she was driving at. In their world’s history, the Lord of Slaughter didn’t die in the Monster Lord’s hands. Conversely, that meant he had to ensure that the Lord of Slaughter survived this ordeal to prevent history from affecting the future. And the only one who had the power to pull that off now was him.
He was dazed for a moment. It was often said that history shaped the future, but why did it look as if history was determined by the future too?
“Who are you?” The Monster Lord’s face quivered. He had never been ignored like that before.
Zu An smiled. “We're merely passers-by.”
“Passers-by or not, you aren’t getting away scot-free!” The Monster Lord shot a glance at his subordinates, and the Demonic Motherbug and Thousand-Footed Elder, who were nearest to Zu An, lunged at him from his flanks.
The Thousand-Footed Elder had a head on each of his his feet, and these heads simultaneously opened their mouths and spewed a poisonous black fog at Zu An from all directions, shrouding him in it in an instant.
The other Monster Generals breathed a sigh of relief. The Thousand-Footed Elder was a giant centipede, and his black fog contained lethal poison. Even the other Monster Generals would be reduced to pus when enveloped in the black fog.
However, their smiles quickly stiffened.
The thick black fog suddenly began dissipating. An instant later, the mysterious man dashed out of the black fog. There was a cold gleam, and dozens of the Thousand-Footed Elder’s feet were suddenly severed. The heads on the severed feet screamed in misery as they dropped to the ground before swiftly withering into bones and falling silent.
The Demonic Motherbug launched her attack too. She was extremely fast, morphing into four silhouettes to attack Zu An from different directions at the same time. It looked as if red flashes of lightning were tearing through space. Despite having witnessed the setback faced by the Thousand-Footed Elder, she wasn’t worried in the slightest. Her talent put her in an increasingly advantageous position the longer the battle dragged out. As she generated more clones, she would eventually become undefeatable. The only way to defeat her was to simultaneously destroy all her clones.
The Lord of Slaughter and the Monster Lord might be able to pull that off, but they don’t know that the key is to destroy all my clones at once. This fellow doesn’t feel strong. I doubt that he can end me instantaneously.
As soon as those thoughts surfaced in her mind, she suddenly found herself faced with a massive black fog. That was the Thousand-Footed Elder’s poison!
Her surroundings were immediately enveloped by the poison. She couldn’t avoid it entirely no matter how fast she moved. As a result, all four of her clones plummeted from the sky and dropped dead.
