Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1309: Coincidence, Coincidence

'Well...that's a weird ass announcement.'
...
After making the weirdly ominous statement about the false Lord's desires, Zhen Liu continued his act of deception.
[Every Kaijin Lord had always been someone who had been wronged by the universe in some capacity, so you're already qualified on that merit,] Zhen Liu stated.
This statement wasn't a lie, though, as Zhen Liu noted that every Kaijin Lord he had a read up on were people who got fucked over.
The Damned Drunkard was betrayed by his original kingdom, the Invulnerable Storm Queen was a victim to expansionist ambitions, while Zhen Liu himself was just...born unlucky.
That stated, none of them seemed to want to burn down the entire world in the process of becoming Kaijin Lord.
Which led to Zhen Liu wondering why this motherfucker wanted to burn down the world.
Unfortunately, he wasn't going to get a villainous monologue from this guy...yet.
Instead, Zhen Liu was subjected to the one thing that could make or break a convoluted lie: accurate questioning.
"Wait, what are you offering exactly, spirit?" The other Kaijin Lord asked. "Are you asking for me to become your new master?"
[Close,] Zhen Liu replied without skipping a beat. [The real reason why my master, the current Kaijin Lord, is here in this jungle is because he is trying to reclaim the legacy of one of his predecessors. You wouldn't know this, but everytime a new Kaijin Lord appears, they would inevitably end up expanding the archive's vast trove of knowledge.]
Pausing for dramatic effect, Zhen Liu finally released the other lord's wrist from his grip. There was no need to physically ensnare him now that he was verbally trapped.
At least, that's what Zhen Liu hope was the case.
[However,] Zhen Liu continued after the appropriate amount of time had passed,[whenever a Kaijin Lord passes, their expansion of the archive becomes sealed away until the new one appears and claims some form of ownership over the legacies of these prior lords.]
As soon as he mentioned the word, "legacy", the fake Kaijin Lord perked up like a rabbit.
[My current master heard tale that one such legacy was located here. A legacy belonging to the Star Caller,] Zhen Liu continued, under the assumption the fake lord was intrigued, all while walking like some kind of wise sage. [Unfortunately, the information he received in relation to this legacy was sparse at best, or fake at worst.]
Directing a stern gaze at the fake lord, Zhen Liu tossed out what he thought was the best bait he had in getting this asshole to leave the mines.
[I can sense my current master's whereabouts. If you were to intercept him at the right time, you'd be able to usurp control of the archive after stealing the legacy from him,] Zhen Liu concluded. [And if you can control the archive, you'd be able to—]
"Create more powerful kaijin," the fake lord interjected with a strange look in his eyes. "By chance, do you know what this legacy is exactly?"
[Due to my memories always getting partially sealed every time a Kaijin Lord died, no. No, I do not.]
"Well then, this will be a pleasant surprise for you and a terrible one for your current master," the false lord chuckled in a dark manner. "I think I already have the Star Caller's legacy in my possession."
[Oh?] Zhen Liu flatly replied while doing his best to look only mildly intrigued.
Mentally, though, he was panicking.
'The fuck does he mean he has the Star Caller's legacy?! I was mostly making that up!'
Fortunately for Zhen Liu, he was going to get his answers soon.
"Ages ago I...you know what? I think it's easier if I showed you," the fake Kaijin Lord said as he began to make his way towards the door. "However, we will have to wait until later in the evening. After all, that's the only time it imbues its power to the cores."
[Ah.]
'Okay, nevermind, fucking jackpot! Now I just need to reunite with the others. Hope they managaed to get in okay...'
... Meanwhile...
After the kaijin had snuck into the mines, they decided that the best course of action was to divide, keep watch, and wait for the arrival of their mortal allies.
Of course, they made sure to maintain their mini-mode for this stealth portion of their mission.
At this time, the kaijin had divided into one group of three and two groups of two.
Razorstella was with Screamira and Springerdermain.
______________
[Razor, what are you doing?! We're supposed to be sneaky!]
[I don't think that's going to be a problem...]
At this moment in time, the trio were hiding out in the resting holes that the slaves used, figuring that their larger frames could hide their miniature bodies.
However, as they were hiding out amongst the slaves, Razorstella noticed that something was off about them.
Walking directly into the line of sight of one of the slaves, Razorstella positioned herself directly in front of them. Once she was in place, she began to sporadically shake her limbs in front of them.
In response to this behavior, the slaves did... absolutely nothing.
Screamira was just about to put a stop to this weird behavior, until she too noticed what Razorstella had noticed.
[What the fuck? It's like they don't have any souls.]
[No, they still have their souls,] Springerdermain noted while looking over the slaves with his sense. [But it's like something else broke...]
______________
Nepherage went with Blazejudicator.
______________
[Yeesh. For a bunch of fighters, they look like shit,] Nepeherage commented from her hiding spot in the eaves of the fighting pit. [Then again, I'm pretty sure I can blame these fucking knock-offs at being unable to understand a warrior's honor.] frёewebnoѵēl.com
[Nepeherage, now is not the time,]Blazejudicator chided. [Executor's friends are in a situation.]
Nepherage and Blazejudicator figured that since their Lord was busy playing a role, that they would be the ones to make sure that his allies didn't suffer too many setbacks from being caught up in his schemes.
Lythero and Olstenna had managed to get back to the main resting area, at least, that's what Blazejudicator knew from Zhen Liu's perspective. However, the reality was a touch more...dire.
[Move you little shits!]
^Fuck off, goat fuckers!^
[Oh, haha!]
For reasons that Blazejudicator and Nepeherage weren't entirely sure about, a pair of goat-like kaijin had begun to escort Lythero and Olstenna out of the resting area and even out of the pit.
Getting the feeling that something bad might happen to these guys if they didn't interfere, Nepeherage and Blazejudicator decided to tail them.
They had a little time before the rest of the mortal arrived, right?
______________
Last but not least, the proto-kaijin Doll twins were their own group.
______________
The twins had positioned themselves at one of the main entrances to the mines in order to report to the others exactly when the rest of the mortals would arrive.
Granted, this just amounted to them killing time while waiting for a sign.
[Sister, what are you doing?] Porcelain Doll asked.
[I'm trying to see if I can adjust my clothes to match yours,] Corpse Doll replied while focusing on her outfit. [You look good in white, I think I would too.]
[But the black clothes matched your ski—]
Kapoof!
[Oops.]
[Well, now you look like a mummy.]
[Kept my hat and talisman intact though.]
[Wait, is that even removable?]
[I...don't know...]
______________
Under normal circumstances, this division was less than ideal.
With Zhen Liu acting as the main communication point, the kaijin had the freedom to act independently of another without worrying about losing contact with each other.
Unfortunately, with Zhen Liu's formula acting up, the kaijin were forced to divide into groups so that they could remain in communication with each other.
That stated, because they were forced to group up in such a manner, the kaijin were unable to notice that the Zhen Clan scions and their group had been delivered to the front door of the [Mines of Malevolence].
However, this delivery was anything but smooth.
...
Surprisingly, the Zhen Clan scions had managed to convince a majority of the slaves that had wanted to run away to ride along with them.
Whether that was due to their actual charisma or the promise of an absurd reward would remain unknown to the two scions, but that didn't really.
What did matter was that there was now one last hurdle that had to be crossed before they had truly infiltrated the place.
The entrance.
^Young masters, we're almost at the front gate.^
^Alright.^
Settling into their seats in the cage, Zhen Tai and Zhen Xing did their best to act like wronged young masters.
"Okay, would being angry or sad work better for this?"
"I don't know, I'm going for defiant."
"Fair."
