Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1271: The Little Antelope and the Big Snake...
"Huff! Huff! Huff!"
HISS!
"HUFF! HUFF! HUFF!"
Upon the accursed slopes of the Hellfire Mountain Range, a not so uncommon scene was playing out once more.
HISS! HISS!
On one side, a predator, a subway-sized aether beast known as an Ogre Python, was rampaging through the jungle and attempting to catch its latest victim.
"No, no, no, no, no!"
On the other hand, the prey, a bloodliner girl with antelope-like features, was running as fast as her hooved feet could take her through the accursed landscape that composed the Hellfire Mountain Range.
At a glance, this was merely a battle of survival between predator and prey. One could assume that the latter had accidentally stumbled upon the nest of the former or that the former had stumbled upon the latter while hunting for other quarry.
However, if one were to take a closer look at the two participants, they would notice little details that painted a different picture.
Upon the Ogre Python's body, one would notice markings that appeared to be painted on, including a strange emblem upon his massive head, and a collar of steel around the neck.
The Bloodliner girl clearly showed signs of emaciation beneath old, torn rags, had metal bands across her wrists and ankles, and her horns appeared to have been artificially shaved and capped with bronze balls as if to indicate domestication...or worse.
Tucked underneath her arms was a circular object wrapped in cloth that she was desperately trying to keep close to person, to the point that her clothes fluttered in such a way that one would be able to take a look of her back and find that there was branding scar on it that greatly resembled the emblem painted on the Ogre Python's face.
With these details in mind, the story changes from a hunter and prey, to that of a runaway slave trying to avoid death by slaver beast.
And unfortunately, with the way things were going, this was going to be a runaway story that ended in a tragedy.
"Gotta keep moving, gotta keep—AH!"
While in the midst of running, the antelope Bloodliner suddenly tripped and fell to the ground, dropping the bundled item in her possession.
Although, the fact that a skeletal hand popped out of the ground just long enough to trip her up, suggests that it was an act of malice from the surrounding area.
The antelope Bloodliner, however, didn't care about the fact that she had just tripped.
"Brothers, no!"
She cared more about the fact that she had lost her bundled item.
Panic and fear overwhelmed her heart as she frantically looked about for the cloth-covered object.
Thankfully it didn't take her too long to find it...
"Oh thank the ancestors," she sighed as soon as she found the bundle and began to cradle it once more.
HISS...
"Fuck."
...however, it did take her long enough that the Ogre Python had enough time to get within striking distance.
Turning to face the monster, the Bloodliner girl began to pale as she felt the presence of predatory death looming over her.
The sheer amount of bloodlust bearing down on her from the Ogre Python, caused her legs to collapse beneath her...not that the beast cared.
The only thing it cared about was whether or not it would have the chance to devour this little antelope or not.
The answer came quickly, as a small disturbance in the ground transmitted a message from the python's master.
Go ahead.
HISS!
"NO!"
With the order given, the Ogre Python reared it's ugly head and prepared to strike forward and devour the girl in one fluid strike.
[Not so fast!]
"Huh?'
However, before the gruesome task could be fulfilled, a miracle occurred.
[Meteor Impact Kick!]
BOOM!
"WHOA!"
Appearing from above, a strange red horned woman with the countenance of a demon appeared and landed a devasting flying kick against the Ogre Python's face.
The attack was so swift and brutal that the Ogre Python was sent flying into a nearby mountain slope. The force of the blow, in turn, caused volcanic jets of steam and heat to burst out of the ground and scorch the Ogre Python, eliciting a scream of pain that definitely didn't sound snake-like in the slightest from the beast.
Most people, after getting rescued in such a dramatic fashion, would be shocked yet appreciative of the person who did the deed, regardless of origin.
That didn't apply to this moment, though.
Instead, a feeling of immense confusion surged through the antelope bloodliner's mind.
After all, why would one of her people's enslavers come to her rescue?
'A...another Kaijin?!'
... Perspective shift...
'Why did that attack feel weird?' Nepeherage thought to herself as she landed after kicking the giant snake about to eat the antelope girl.
Compelled by the [Core] in her chest, Nepeherage flew as fast as she could to rescue the endangered slave girl from the giant monster snake.
She had figured that this would be an easy act of heroism to appease her innate [Desire] and, judging from the fact that the slave girl was running around here of all places, find out some information about the local situation.
Just as Zhen Liu had taught the Kaijin.
However, when Nepeherage came flying in and used a burst of [Chaos] to kick in the snake's head, she felt an unusual amount of resistance from the blow that felt oddly familiar.
'This feeling...it's—?!'
It wasn't like punching through normal aether defenses, which was like punching through stacks of paper.
It wasn't like punching against dragon force because that felt like punching against a steel plate.
And while she had yet to try this, she was fairly certain punching a Buddhist's defenses would be like punching a wall of kinetic sand covered in acid.
Instead, kicking this snake reminded Nepeherage about the time she fought those weird Grafted motherfuckers and when she would spar with the others...uh oh.
[Gaaah, you fucking...wait...]
[Oh, fuck.]
After recovering from getting stunned, the Ogre Python brought his attention back towards what was supposed to be his meal and the crazy bitch made of Crimson Jade that had kicked him in the head.
It was at this point that Nepeherage noticed that the Ogre Snake's eyes looked wrong.
Her type of wrong, to be more precise.
[Oye! Who the fuck are you?!] the Ogre Snake(?) growled. [I don't remember the boss uplifting anyone recently. You smell like a Kaijin but you sure as shit don't look or feel like one. You feel all..."nice". Like a dumb pig thinking they're brave.]
[Well I could say the same about you, you giant scale-covered sausage,] Nepeherage retorted, a growing bloodlust bubbling in her magma-rich veins.
[That's...fair,] the Ogre Snake admitted. [Why don't I scale down so we can chat eye-to-eye then?]
The expectation after this statement was that the giant snake before them was going to literally shrink into itself until they were about as big as a person, possibly growing limbs in the process.
That didn't happen.

Instead, like a scene from a body horror movie, the Ogre Snake's head suddenly rotated a full 180 degrees in front of Nepeherage's eyes like a fucking door knob before violently ripping itself off of it's body.
Evidently, the sight was so gruesome and shdden that neither Nepeherage nor the antelope girl could properly react in time when things got even grosser.
As the freshly severed snake head fell to the ground, it began to literally transform in a bloody mess that was unnecessarily graphic by even horror standards.
Arms sprouted out from the eyes, transforming the flesh orbs into pauldrons that were equally squishy.
From the stump of the neck, a pair of long, sinewy legs began to form and rapidly grow scales that matched the snake body that was rapidly disappearing behind him into a cloud of light particles that were absorbed into the snakeman's body.
Finally, the entire jaw structure began to reform and collapse into itself until a vaguely muscular, bulgy-ass body of nightmarish sinews was formed and vaugley resembled a suit of armor with a strange, hideous head popping out of the top.
Oddly enough, the painted mark from earlier had disappeared and reappeared on the snake Kaijin's face.
Something about this mark now cauased Nepeherage to feel incredibly agitated, but she wasn't sure why.
[Right then,] the newly formed snake Kaijin sighed. [My name is Constrictor of the Encroaching Despair division. Uplifted from an Ogre Python at the third tier by the boss. Now who the hell are you?]
[...]
Under normal circumstances, against normal warriors, Nepeherage wouldn't say much before becoming incredibly violent.
In front of this so called Kaijin though...she couldn't help but feel a bit more showy.
[My name is Nepeherage, First of the Kaijin born in this era, the Volcanic Valkyrie of Justice and the Embodiment of [Heroism]. Now, I don't know who the hell your lord is but there's only one Kaijin Lord and I'm about to present him your head as my latest trophy!]
