Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1231: Blue Mirror’s Battle(4)
Shortly after declaring his attack, Lythero and his seven shadows went on the attack.
"Charge!"
"Wooo!"
Lythero charged forward first, the [Trickster’s Fang Pack Kukri] in one hand, and his [Astra] mimicking that aforementioned kukri in the other.
Shortly after Lythero made his move, the seven swordsmen shadows behind him also began to move. However, not all of them charged forward.
Of the seven swordsmen shadows, a trio of them accompanied Lythero as he charged; two of them proceeded to ascend into the air so that they could attack at weird angles, while the remaining two went towards the left and right of Obara to flank him.
Most warriors under attack like this would immediately panic.
Warriors without sharp enough senses would be fully convinced that all seven of the shadows were as capable of inflicting harm as the practitioner who summoned them.
Obara, to his credit, didn’t immediately panic at the sight of the charging Lythero and his shadows. In fact, he seemed to welcome the challenge.
"Neat trick, but I learned a long time ago how to deal with illusions such as these," Obara taunted as he began to spin his [Astra] around his body. "You aim for the bastard who manifested them!"
[Mountain Smashing Claw!]
After one complete rotation around his body, Obara swung his three-section staff [Astra] forward and slammed the claw that was attached to the end of the staff directly into Lythero’s chest.
Now, due to the fact that they were both using their [Regalia] at this time, Obara knew very well that his attack probably wasn’t going to cave in Lythero’s ribcage, but he knew it was going to leave a rather nasty mark.
At least, that’s what he thought was going to happen.
Things played out very differently in reality.
At the exact moment when Obara’s staff impacted Lythero’s chest, the latter disappeared like a candle being snuffed out by the wind.
"What the fuck?!"
Making things weirder, the illusion of Lythero that he had just attacked suddenly reformed directly behind him.
"Nice move," the fake Lythero taunted. "Think you can do it about seven more times?"
"Shit!"
As soon as Lythero finished his taunt, the flanking swordmen got close enough to attack.
The swordsman shadow coming in from Obara’s right was armed with greatsword that greatly resembled a slab of black iron on a stick, while the one on the left was armed with a pair of kris daggers that radiated a curse-like energy.
Obara recognized these shadows and their weapons, as belonging to Blade Tortoise and Blade Cobra of the Seven Sword Bastards.
In fact, now that he had a closer look at all of these shadows, he saw that they were all copies of the Seven Sword Bastards.
It should be noted that this was how the House of the Golden Sabertooth saw the people who had slapped the face of their patriarch, and not how the wider world saw these seven swordsmen.
Regardless, Obara wasn’t intimidated at the sight of these phantoms. After all, they were already dead.
"I get your game now, sword bastard. You’re going to be one of these illusions, so I just have to destroy them all! [Wild Claw Dance]!"
Obara grabbed his [Astra] by the middle section of the staff and spun it over his head, dispersing the shadows of Blade Tortoise and Blade Cobra in one wild move. The two shadows didn’t even attempt to block the attack as they continued with their movements.
Blade Tortoise swung his sword in a wide arc with enough force to pulverize flesh as opposed to actually cutting, while Blade Cobra brought down his blades like a snake biting down on their victim, replacing the venom with cursed energy.
Although, some argued that they were essentially the same.
After they had finished their attacks, they were soon followed by the two shadow swordsmen that attempted to attack from above.

One of these shadows was armed with a scimitar that looked sharp enough to cut through steel as if it was melted butter, while the other shadow was armed with a saber that resembled the wings of a large crow.
"Blade Rabbit and Blade Crow, huh? Nothing more than cheap tricks!" Obara shouted as he grabbed one of the end sections of his [Astra] and swung it in a wide that swiped the claw through the stomach of these shadows.
Now that the shadows cared, as they both continued following through their attacks being a pair of overhead slashes.
If they were real, Blade Rabbit’s sword would’ve sliced through Obara’s arm with disturbing ease while Blade Crow’s sword would’ve instantly cauterize the wound it created with the power of the sun.
"More shadows?! Fine then! I have a one in three chance of finally ending you!"
The remaining three shadow swordsman had all gone with straightforward charges and were all armed with weapons meant for forward assaults.
Aside from the kukri that seemed to phase in and out of reality, the other two swords barreling towards Obara at this time consisted of an oversized calvary saber meant for piercing as opposed to slashing, and a dark colored longsword that seemed to absorb all the shadows in the area.
At this moment, Obara’s warrior instincts were at high alert.
The charging shadow swordsmen were not in a singular group, rather, they were charging at him in a staggered manner.
This meant that if he focused on taking out one shadow, they were more than likely to get jumped by the other two.
Which is why he decided that the most prudent option at this juncture was to use the one major Ethereal aether art in his arsenal.
[Wild Spirit Cannon!]
Following his will, Obara’s [Astra] folded into a triangular shape before floating directly in front of him.
Moments later, Obara’s [Astra] began to rapidly condense aether in its center before being released in a torrent of energy that blasted through all three charging swordsmen.
It was a direct hit and should’ve been a moment of triumph for the nephew of the infamous Duke Diamoro. But alas, it was not.
When he used this attack against the last three shadows, Obara had done so under the assumption that he was definitely going to impact Lythero at that exact moment.
Therefore, when saw that his attack went through all three of them, Obara realized something important.
’That bastard...he wasn’t hiding behind any of these shadows?! Fuck!’

As this realization sunk in, the remaining three shadows reformed after being blasted and proceeded to pantomime their attacks.
Blade Jaguar’s shadow went for a decapitation strike that was accompanied by a dark side of energy.
Blade Boar’s shadow charged right through Obara, in a way that would’ve ended with the latter getting impaled by the former’s giant calvary saber.
Lastly, Blade Coyote’s kukri swung for Obara’s neck and-
KER-SLASH!
"AH! WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"Surprise!"
At the exact moment the shadow of Blade Coyote struck at Obara’s neck, Lythero appeared from the shadows and struck at Obara’s neck from behind instead.
If Obara didn’t have his [Regalia] active at this time, he would’ve been decapitated at worst or paralyzed at best.
But for now, he was just absolutely pissed.
"How the fuck did you get behind me?!" Obara roared while bringing down his [Astra] in an attempt to counter attack.
Lythero, however, managed to leap backwards fast enough to avoid the attack altogether and disappear before Obara’s eyes.
In his place, the seven shadow swordsmen and the original Lythero prepared to attack Obara again.
Needless to say, Obara wasn’t pleased about this turn of events in the slightest.
"Alright, how the fuck did you do that?!" Obara asked in an indignant tone.
"Well, to put it as bluntly as possible," one of the shadow swordsmen suddenly piped up with Lythero’s voice. "I used the special ability of the [Trickster’s Fang Pack Kukri] to make all of these shadows of myself and my former master."
"I know of those illusions, but that doesn’t explain shit! How the hell did you manage to hide your aether signature as well?!"
"Here’s the thing," another of the shadows spoke up."My [Astra] has this ability I didn’t even know it had until I got my ass handed to me during multiple training sessions."
"Ability?" Obara repeated while keeping his guard up against the encroaching shadows."What kind of ability?"
"As the Blue Mirror of War said, I carry a heavy legacy. One that’s been a part of my heart and soul for a long time now," a third shadow added while preparing their blade.
"My [Astra] can, for some reason, amplify the innate abilities of the seven swords that my masters once wielded."
"What?! An ability like that would mean—"
"If I lost these swords, I’d be crippled as a warrior forever? Yeah, I know," a fourth shadow finished.
"Which is why I’m not planning to lose ever,"a fifth shadow added.
"And if that sounds arrogant, well..."a sixth shadow continued
"The only ones who can judge me are already dead," the real Lythero said as he appeared right next to Obara’s ear.
"FUCK!"
