Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1141: A Whole Clan of Monsters
"Did...did he just use a fifth tier aether beast...as a battering ram?"
"Yup."
"How?!"
"I don’t know..."
Ever since the Zhen Clan became the hegemon of Stone Claw, they had been the center for both admiration and distate by the other factions in the city.
Sure, the Zhen Clan had their patriarch and that strangely strong scion with the puppet skills, but what of the rest of the elders and scions?
They just weren’t as impressive.
The elders of the Zhen Clan may have included Aether Grandmasters, but it was only recently that all seven of them had reached that level. Up until that point, the medium sized factions led by peak Masters and first starred Aether Grandmasters could combine their forces and easily overpower them all.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.
The only reason they hadn’t was because they respected Zhen Shi.
But now that some of these warriors saw that the one that was often whispered as being the weakest of the Zhen Clan elders was able to use a fifth tier Aether beast as a training dummy, they weren’t entirely sure about their previous estimations.
Evidently, they were about to need to reevaluate a bunch of their estimations in about...a second.
"And Xiao Xi just threw himself over the wall. Great..."
"Oh hush, you’re just upset you weren’t first."
"Less talking, more fighting off a horde of bloodthirsty beasts!"
Chasing after their brother, the other six Zhen Clan elders proceeded to leap off the top of the defensive wall and straight into the fray as well.
There are few things as impressive as seeing a Grandmaster don their [Regalia] before battle, but seeing several Grandmasters do so at the same time exceeded that.
"[Regalia], on!"
As the Zhen Clan Elders touched down on the grounds before the city’s walls, the Beast Tide opposite tomato them suddenly recoiled due to a mix of fear and instinct. As beasts, they could recognize when they were staring down their superiors or natural predators, and right now, these Zhen Clan elders gave off the feeling of being both of these things despite being humans.
Then again, it would make sense for a clan whose entire livelihood revolved around the processing and handling of aether beasts, would definitely be the type of person that aether beasts instinctually feared most.
After all, the elders recognized every single species that was trying to kill them at this time...and they knew the weak points for all of them.
Of course, they needed a little bit of prep time before being able to make use of this knowledge.
"Zhen Jin, mind lending me a hand?"
"If you’re thinking what I’m think, than sure, Xiao Yan. Clear a spot for us."
[Roar of Flames!]
[Bramble Ward!]
In a series of moves, Zhen Yan proceeded to manifest a lion’s head made of flames before releasing a roar so powerful and filled with heat, that it actively repelled most of the aether beasts un a twenty foot radius. Shortly after, Zhen Jin threw a couple of seeds infused with his power, and forced them to grow into harsh, spiked bramble that threated to tear into the flesh of any beast dumb enough to get close to it.
Once this protective perimeter was established, the Zhen Clan elders landed in the center of it to determine their next course of action. Unfortunately, there were a lot of wild beasts around them at this time so they were under a bit of a time crunch.
So they couldn’t exploit everything due to needing prep time.
"Weak skull, weak to being set on fire, weak to poison and those are weak to extreme temperature in general..."
"Fuck me sideways, there are a lot of different types of beasts here. I don’t think we can kill them all efficiently even if we used the weakpoints to our advantage."
"Then why don’t we just take them all at once with something big, flashy and able to get stronger when more people collaborate on it?"
"Sounds fine by me, but we’re still short Zhen Xi. He’s still balls deep in the battle-"
"Incoming!"
As soon as Zhen Lao brought up this fact, the Fourth Elder of the Zhen Clan came crashing into the safety zone that the elders had established for themselves.
More specifically, they saw Zhen Xi come flying back while still being propelled by his shoulder rockets, moments before the rockets abruptly stopped and he tumbled straight down to the ground.
The man rolled for a couple of seconds before landing on his feet, as he did, the helmet and rockets that manifested due to the [Primordial Beast Scripture] dismissed themselves.
"Did y’all see that?! I plowed right through that big ole bison and who knows how many others, haha! By the way, I saw the Sandstorm Tyrant and it was fucking huge!"
"Good to know."
"You can tell us more about it later, for now, we got a World-Class art to use."
"Right!"
The moment Patriarch Zhen Shi used [Echoing Frost] to defeat the Wolfe Family had become a bit of a local legend to the people of the frontier.
World -Class arts were rare, especially one that could create snowfall in the desert.
After that moment though, it had become a rumor that this aether art was going to become the signature move for the leader of the Zhen Clan in Stone Claw, and that only his successor would be able to learn and master this move.
Evidently, these speculators were about to be proven incredibly wrong.
For they failed to understand the that while [Echoing Frost] was a World-class Aether art, and was absurdly powerful on its own, it’s true strength could only be revealed when multiple users came together and used it in sync together like a choir.
"Altogether, brothers!"
"Right!"
One by one, the elders of the Zhen Clan began to condense their aether in a uniform fashion, causing the area around them to rapidly drop in temperature until the surrounding sands were frozen in ice and the heat and cold began to clash into each other and form sparks of lighting.
For months after [Echoing Frost] came into their lives, the elders of the clan had practiced this aether art rentlessly, just so they could perform at least the first verse in a manner that didn’t outright embarrass them.
As they continued to condense their aether, giant beasts of various builds, and made from the freezing air, began to form behind them.
Needless to say, many of the beasts that were surrounding them began to back off once they sensed this incoming cold front.
But it was far too late for them.
Eventually, the elders of the Zhen Clan reached a satisfactory saturation of aether and decided that now was the time to let this art fly!
[Echoing Frost: March of Giants!]*7
HOOOOWWWWLLL!
With voices as loud as storms, the elders of the clan thrusted their hands forward and released a howling blizzard that tore through the Beast Tide in a fan shaped manner.
The effects of this blizzard was immediate as, not only were very few of the beasts presents had any resistance to extreme colds like this, but this blizzard was strengthened not in a multiplicative manner, but in an exponential manner.
Many of the first to second tier aether beasts were encased in layers of ice so thick that they either lost their lives outright or had become frozen in time forever.
As for the third to fourth tier, many of them had suffered grievous injuries from the cold, with frostbite overwhelming their limbs in an instant...in the best case scenario. In the worst case scenario, the air in their lungs froze over and tore the organs to shreds as they tried to forcefully exhale the ice crystals that just wouldn’t melt.
The only ones who weren’t outright slaughtered or horribly injured were the fifth and sixth aether beasts in the back of the Beast Tide, but they didn’t get off scott-free.
They were wounded by this attack, if mildly, but this was enough for them to realize that this city wasn’t going to collapse as easily as the ones that came before.
Those other villages, towns and cities had all failed to survive when the fifth to sixth tier beasts made their moves, but that was due to the defenders not being able to inflict any injuries to them.
So the fact that they had been injured now of all times, before they even got involved, was enough to instill a level of caution in them.
However, the only one that wasn’t affected was the leader of this motley horde.
If anything, they were amused.
And wanted to see just who was able to get his minions all riled up...
...
[And just like that, one of the city’s trump cards has been used to great effect.]
[It’s not a big deal, I think we still have eight or so.]
[True.]
[Well, that and the young master should be returning shortly. After that, this whole farce will end with several tons of materials to work with.]
[Amen.]
