Jyera World Apocalypse-Chapter 58: Prisoners

None of the conflicts Kaito had faced to date had been as bloody and unfair as this one...

The place looked like a war zone, and members of the Hattori Mafia were dying left and right. They barely had a five-minute lead after the message before the enemy appeared, flying past the hotel where their base was located.

None of his men’s bullets had any effect on the golden man, and everyone was being killed in gruesome ways. The simplest of them had their bullets sent back at them, while some were cut in half by an invisible force, while others were twisted like clothes, ultimately becoming a mound of distorted flesh, merging with their clothes and weapons.

Kaito sent all his drones at full force, afraid to use his powerful sniper rifle and have one of his own bullets returned to him.

The drones suffered the same fate as their men; they all shot themselves or were teleported to the ground, where they were damaged and crushed.

His brother Oyibo watched the scene worriedly when the man finally shouted that he was here for him...

Kaito saw his brother jump and present himself before the reaper, accepting his fate in an attempt to protect him. But before he could do so, Kaito drew his katana and, using his powerful suit and activating all his powers, flew toward the enemy. But again, to his surprise, his sword was stopped by the golden man’s bare hands.

Not only that, the man seemed surprised for a second when he felt the katana blade in his hand, but soon he delivered a powerful blow with an open palm at Kaito, which not only knocked him from the air to the ground with great force, but also completely shattered his suit into several pieces.

Kaito didn’t give up; he got up in pain, dizzy, and spitting out a lot of blood. Only to see Oyibo appear right next to him, his back to the ground, and then impaled by a spear.

The golden man spoke a single sentence: "Are you willing to work for me? If you do, I can spare your brother..."

"Aniki, don’t do this! I don’t mind dying here!"

Kaito hesitated for a moment, trying to feign indifference, but the man began to twist the spear, torturing Oyibo even more, making him scream. And before he knew it, he had knelt to save him...

Not long after, Valentina arrived on the battlefield. She constantly screamed for Kaito to get up, and her brother shouted the same. Valentina only resisted for a few seconds using her powerful shield, but when she was grabbed, both her arms were broken, and the shield was taken from her. Despair painted her face the same way it had painted Kaito’s.

Remembering the greatest humiliation of his life, Kaito glared at Thanatos and Tulliver’s four subordinates. Together, they awaited the opening of a Warp Gate that would take them away from Jyera.

To survive and save his brother from death, Kaito had betrayed his race, and now both he and his brother were subordinates of the man called Thanatos...

This reminded him of when he was still a teenager, and had to do many things he didn’t want to, just because he was too weak to fight against all the Mafias of Aethoria, right after his father’s death.

"Don’t look at me that way... And don’t think you and your brother are irreplaceable. Your ability to penetrate defenses impressed me, but right now, you two are of no value to me..."

Kaito controlled his fury after Thanatos threatened him and remained calm. With his system, he believed he would achieve great things in the future. And when that happened, he would exact revenge on this man and his entire race...

Suddenly, Thanatos’ expression changed and signaled silence to the four subordinates following him. Kaito didn’t understand what was happening until a man dressed in a silver robe and with luminous white skin appeared in front of them. The mysterious man had long silver hair and a face very similar to a young human. He was only a few centimeters shorter than Kaito himself, and his silver eyes stared at Thanatos with pure hostility.

"Greetings, Prince of the Celestes, it is my honor to be in the presence of such an important figure in our universe..."

Although Thanatos spoke this way, he never bowed or made any gesture to accompany his words. The four men behind him lowered their heads to the figure who appeared and remained silent.

"You seem quite calm for someone caught committing multiple violations of the galactic treaty of the superior races..."

"Me? I would never do that... This time, I came personally only to bring these four criminals to justice. They will all be punished for the crimes committed here in this solar system."

"You can go, Thanatos, but you must leave these four with me... They will be interrogated and judged by my race."

This time, Thanatos said the last sentence with a beautiful smile. And the Prince realized that the people in Elysium were also disposable to him.

Then, a Warp Gate opened nearby, interrupting the strange exchange, and Kaito saw Thanatos move toward it, oblivious to the supposed prince. The four subordinates soon followed their leader, also walking toward the portal.

"Jyrean, you don’t need to follow him. No matter what threats or promises he made, I can help you."

Kaito was getting up to follow Thanatos when he heard the luminous man’s words. But at that moment, Thanatos turned his head and said:

Kaito gritted his teeth, remembering that Thanatos had done something to Oyibo’s body before they left. He walked silently, following everyone to the Warp Gate, leaving Jyera behind.

After everyone passed through the Warp Gate, it closed, and Kaito found himself inside a strange spaceship filled with technology he couldn’t recognize. Furthermore, there were two other men who, like Thanatos, also shared the same physical features, with the same characteristic, slightly golden skin...

"Welcome back, Admiral!"

Thanatos looked at the two who bowed upon welcoming him back and gave an order after accepting their greetings:

"Open a Warp Gate to Purgatory. All five of these men will be sent there..."

"Lord Thanatos, please!"

"Admiral, have mercy!"

"We are the Second Prince’s men..."

"Why, Admiral? We weren’t to blame for what happened during the Temporal Anomaly..."

Kaito didn’t understand what this place called Purgatory was, but from the name and the four men’s reactions, he guessed it wasn’t good...

"SILENCE!" Thanatos shouted.

All four lowered their heads and obeyed the order.

Soon, the two golden men used a strange item, which changed the appearance of the four, returning their human skin to a golden hue. Then, all four had their bracelets removed.

"You four were pardoned by the Second Prince for failing in the extermination missions and for not preventing the message from being sent. But the existence of a Jyrean Colony Ship roaming freely throughout the solar system is something you, along with the Observer, should have noticed..."

One of the four tried to say something, but quickly lowered his head again, falling silent...

"Your four sentences were reduced by a third for being the Second Prince’s men. I hope your time in Purgatory will make you better and more efficient soldiers."

Thanatos’s eyes then turned to Kaito.

"As for you, if you can’t survive this place, you’re of no use to our Empire..."

After Thanatos’s words, he waved his hand, removing Kaito’s Space Bracelet. Immediately afterward, a Warp Gate opened, and Kaito, along with the other four men, was teleported to a desolate savannah world.

The four men were the first to recover from the powerful gravity, while Kaito was still crouched, breathing heavily. All four began to sneer as they looked at the still-suffering Jyrean.

But then, a yellow Universal Force enveloped Kaito’s body, allowing him to stand up. And the four men’s sneers disappeared in an instant as they recognized the rare and powerful Force...
