Shu Mengyao’s eyes brightened when she heard the words.
“Can I come along too?” she asked, her voice soft. Instead of looking at the nurse, she gazed at Lin Yang, her small hand still gripping his sleeve. She sought his opinion, and it was infuriating how affectionate they were being in front of everyone. Bullying single dogs!
The nurse, faced with Shu Mengyao’s beauty and Lin Yang’s sunny handsomeness, couldn’t decide whom to envy more. “Nurse, is she able to walk now?” Lin Yang took the initiative to speak for Shu Mengyao, knowing she was a bit socially anxious. “She had a normal delivery, so as long as she feels strong enough, she can get up and move around.”

Shu Mengyao’s face lit up with anticipation. “Great, let’s go together.”
Lin Yang carefully helped Shu Mengyao stand and gently helped her put on her shoes. “Wow, your husband is so considerate!” the nurse exclaimed. “You’re so lucky!”

Since they had twins and Shu Mengyao was a bit socially anxious, Lin Yang chose a private room. Inside, there was a specialized pool and various supplies for the babies.
“Wow, they’re twins! So adorable,” one of the touch therapists exclaimed, taking one of the babies. They used clean cotton pads dipped in water to gently clean the baby’s face. Lin Yang and Shu Mengyao watched attentively, trying to memorize every movement. They didn’t want to mess up when bathing their baby in the future.
“Next, we’ll wash their hair. Who wants to try?” Both Lin Yang and Shu Mengyao were eager.
“Can we do it together?” Lin Yang asked directly, leaving Shu Mengyao flustered.
“I’m not strong enough,” she whispered. “I’m afraid of hurting the baby.”
“Don’t worry; I’m here,” Lin Yang reassured her. “Let’s do it together.”
He took the baby from the therapist’s hands, following instructions to hold the baby securely. Shu Mengyao carefully washed the baby’s hair. Newborn hair was soft and fine, with a delicate color. Shu Mengyao’s movements were gentle, afraid of accidentally hurting the baby.
“Your coordination as a couple is truly remarkable,” the touch therapist commented. “Usually, we see parents doing this themselves, but you two are so loving.”
Even the therapist had never seen parents like this before. Watching the two of you work together to wash the baby’s hair, she couldn’t help but smile.
After washing Xingxing’s hair, it was Yunyun’s turn. With the first attempt behind them, both Lin Yang and Shu Mengyao had become more adept at the task. The therapist then proceeded to clean other parts of the babies’ bodies.

He was happier hearing praise for the babies than for himself. After bidding farewell to the therapists, he returned to the hospital room with Shu Mengyao. They hadn’t spoken yet when a doctor entered.
“Miss Shu, when will you settle your hospital expenses?” the doctor asked. “You paid over twenty thousand last time, and now you owe another twenty thousand.”
The doctor’s tone was reasonable, but Shu Mengyao blushed. That twenty thousand was her entire savings. She had nothing left now, and the debt kept accumulating.
“Lin Yang, can you help me?” she pleaded. “Consider it a loan; I promise to pay you back once I can work.”
She tugged at Lin Yang’s sleeve, her confidence waning. With two babies to care for, she knew it would be a while before she could earn money.
Even if Lin Yang refused, she felt it would be okay. But to her surprise, he said, “Don’t worry; I’ve got this. Take care of the babies here. I’ll go pay the bill and be right back.”
