Just A Daoist Who Occasionally Kicks Ass-Chapter 587: The Banquet Begins! A Scene of Human Misery! Crushing Through! Charge HeadOn, Damn It!
That kind of suffering was even more terrifying than being eaten by them outright.
Yet Xiao Lan knew that, facing the abbot of Flying Dragon Temple, she had no power to resist at all. In an instant, she would be enveloped by his spell.
Xiao Lan was afraid of death, terribly afraid. She had grown up immersed in fear, despair, and hunger. But in a sense, she wasn’t afraid of death either. Dying might be far better than continuing to live in this hell.
When she saw the ten‑zhang-tall tiger demon in a Daoist robe walking toward her, having chosen her, Xiao Lan steeled her heart and hurled herself toward a stone step nearby. Even if she had to die, she would not let this tiger demon have his way! Demons like this were even more revolting than those that simply ate and slaughtered people.
The towering tiger‑headed Daoist frowned, and with a flick of his hand, a spell instantly bound Xiao Lan’s frail body.
“Well, well, I didn’t expect there to be a little brat like you among the humans I keep,” the tiger demon said lightly, smiling. “What? You don’t like having your yang qi drained by me?”
Hatred suddenly flared in Xiao Lan’s eyes as she cursed, “Go to hell!”
The tiger demon let out a ferocious grin and said coldly, “A human little brat like you, do you think your words carry any divine authority? If saying a sentence could kill me, wouldn’t I have died long ago...”
Before the abbot of Flying Dragon Temple could finish speaking, his words cut off abruptly.
The last thing the tiger demon saw was a headless corpse. Then he plunged into endless darkness.
Xiao Lan was stunned. The captive humans, as well as the few minor demons attending nearby, were all stunned.
The abbot of Flying Dragon Temple was an exceptionally powerful demon, holding lofty status in Shituo City. How could he have been spoken to death by this little girl?
The headless body of the abbot collapsed to the ground with blood pouring out, and as he died, his true form of a striped ferocious tiger emerged.
“Abbot!” One of the tiger demon’s attendants cried out in shock, and he glared viciously at Xiao Lan.
Xiao Lan returned his gaze with hatred. She wasn’t even afraid of death, why would she be afraid of being stared down by a demon?
The emotions she had suppressed for so long erupted at this moment. “All of you demons deserve to die!”
As her words fell, the bodies of several demons in the courtyard were cleaved cleanly in half at the waist, and blood sprayed everywhere. The corpses of Dholes, wolves, tigers, and leopards lay strewn across the courtyard!
Xiao Lan froze, and so did the other captive humans.
A tall, upright young man slowly revealed himself, his features handsome, his gaze sharp as a blade. In his hand, he held a simple, ancient long saber.
“Did you kill them?” Xiao Lan asked in delight.
Li Yanchu held the Jiaoslayer in one hand and the Golden Radiance Crown in the other, nodding slightly.
“You’re right,” he said calmly. “All these demons deserve to die.”
Xiao Lan’s eyes lit up. The young man’s words gave her an immense sense of security, a strange, inexplicable feeling of reassurance.
Li Yanchu gave her a faint smile, then placed the Golden Radiance Crown on his head and turned to leave. Earlier, he had marked the ten-zhang-tall tiger demon in the Daoist robe leaving the hall. Now, wearing the crown, he could strike and kill that demon immediately.
The little girl’s words were right; these demons all deserved to die!
When Li Yanchu returned to the banquet seats, Minghe glanced at him but said nothing.
The bear demon cautiously asked, “Lord, where did you go?”
Li Yanchu’s expression remained cold, and he didn’t reply.
At that moment, groups of captive humans were driven in by demon soldiers. Their clothes were tattered, their eyes were lifeless, and their bodies were corrupted by demonic qi; they were in terrible condition.
However, the dozens of demons in the courtyard all turned their gazes on these humans, revealing greed in their eyes. This was just the appetizer; the thousand-demon banquet would give them plenty to feast on.
Not all of the humans were completely numb and empty, though. Many had fear flickering in their eyes. They knew what awaited them, but they had no means to resist.
Minghe’s expression softened with pity. She took a deep breath, silently reciting the Clear-Heart Spell to calm her Daoist mind.
The bear demon’s eyes gleamed with desire. The thousand-demon banquet would allow them to gorge themselves freely, and there were still more “courses” later; today would be extraordinarily lively!
For Li Yanchu and Minghe, this resurrected Shituo City was just an illusion. The humans were illusions too, and they had long since died.
The entire Shituo City had become a ruin. How could these people possibly survive? Even if they were rescued, it had no real meaning.
Li Yanchu was by no means some saintly savior. Yet at this moment, he fell silent. This scene made him uncomfortable.
Looking at the living, breathing humans in front of him... Beneath their dazed expressions, there were still flickers of hope. They wanted to survive; they did not want to be numb and lifeless. Living in this human hell was their misfortune.
As the captive humans were driven into the courtyard, some of the demons could no longer restrain themselves, eager to feast. The way they looked at the humans was like they were slabs of meat on a chopping block. A wolf demon could not help but reach out a claw and grab a captive, opening his bloodthirsty mouth to bite!
Bang!
His head instantly exploded into a spray of blood. A young man stepped in front of him, and with one palm, crushed him flat!
Chaos erupted throughout the hall.
“What are you doing?!”
“You’re insane!”
“This is the Green Lion Crown Prince’s banquet, not a place for settling your personal grudges!”
The demons all shouted angrily.
Li Yanchu rested his hand on the hilt of his sword, his gaze piercing and domineering.
“I was wrong.”
Every demon froze, and even Minghe was stunned.
This man, so ruthless, so lawless in his killings... actually admitted he was wrong?!
Then Li Yanchu let out a cold laugh and said, “You trash have no right to make me hold back!”
Boom!
The blade flashed like a streak of lightning, and dozens of demons were instantly slaughtered. The Jiaoslayer was razor-sharp; these demons didn’t even manage a scream!
Minghe’s eyes widened. Was he really going to start fighting?!
A. Eight Trigrams Mirror rose into the sky, expanding in the wind. Blinding divine light immediately engulfed the entire garden!
The remaining demons felt their souls shiver and were instantly grievously wounded. Many demons revealed their true forms, and huge, monstrous shapes appeared.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Saber light flashed relentlessly. With each swing of Li Yanchu’s hand, demons who hadn’t fully manifested yet were cut down, and their blood and flesh sprayed everywhere.
“You bastard! What are you doing?!” The middle-aged man, a sparrow demon in his true form, shouted angrily.
He transformed into a streak of light and charged forward.
Boom!
Divine flames spread across the sky like a flood, consuming the man-eating demons! These spiritual flames seemed almost sentient, deliberately avoiding the captive humans in the hall.
A massive ancient seal hovered in the air; it was the Heaven-Illuminating Seal. Alongside it, the Five-Dragon Wheel and the Ten Thousand Crows Urn appeared.
From the three great fire artifacts surged a sea of fire, with fire-crows and fire-dragons.
Blazing Inferno!
Like a torrential flood, the fire instantly devoured the man-eating demons present. Only the Flood Dragon Demon King and the sparrow demon survived. But they could no longer see the young man’s figure.
“Damn it! Where did such a lawless monster come from?!” the sparrow demon cursed furiously.
“How dare he disrupt the Green Lion Crown Prince’s banquet? This person must have ulterior motives...”
Before the Flood Dragon Demon King could finish speaking, a blinding flash of saber light streaked through the air, and a massive head soared high into the sky. The Flood Dragon Demon King was instantly slain!
The sparrow demon froze, still trying to comprehend what had just happened.
The saber light, like a lightning streak, cut the leaping sparrow demon clean in two. A mysterious rhythm reduced the sparrow demon’s body into a mist of blood.
In almost an instant, dozens of demons in the garden were utterly annihilated. This included the Flood Dragon Demon King, said to be just a step away from becoming a demon immortal, and the cunning sparrow demon!
Minghe was stunned. Her spell was still mid-cast, but before she could react, all these demons had already died.
Li Yanchu now radiated surging vitality, comparable to the third realm. Coupled with the invisibility granted by the Golden Radiance Crown, any demon below the third realm was no match for even a single strike!
He could have easily cleared the banquet of demons, yet he did it in a way that left a chill in the heart, charging forward recklessly.
Boom!
A terrifying aura descended. A narrow-eyed young man appeared in the garden; it was the Green Lion Crown Prince, drawn by the overwhelming fire aura.
He entered the garden and froze instantly.
“Eh!? Where... is everyone in the garden?”
Before him stood a young man holding a saber, eyes cold and piercing.
The icy glare made the freshly ascended demon immortal, the Green Lion Crown Prince, shiver in his heart.
